I think to dismiss Among Dreams as a girl group homage is not accurate, although the vocals and theatrical wind sound effects definitely do evoke this type of music (Shangri-Las style 60s girl group) now that I think about it
this does not account for the effect created by the hazy combination of driving, washed out guitar chords, beatboxed drums which evoke some kind of organic machine and complex bassline underlying it all though
