Is Deceit touristcore yet? Feels like the "go-to" post-punk album.

It's good.
Unfortunately it's starting to look like that. Feels like we've had a thread daily for the past 3 months.

>touristcore
I dont get the tourist meme, when did it start? Why is sitting in your own box listening to the same genre over and over like a boomer good?
And yeah this was my first post punk album but it didnt get me into the genre, talking heads did, honestly most post punk sound nothing like it

It's been a thing for a while. "Genre Tourist" has been a Yea Forums meme forever. Especially in /meal/. Feels like it's always at least been a meme there. It's just people don't bother to listen to anything but the most popular albums in a genre, and then claim those are the best, despite not really knowing anything but the most popular albums. You don't have to stick to one genre if you bother to dig deeper in the genres you listen to than just the most popular releases. I don't really understand why people assume you can only listen to one genre if you don't want to be a tourist.

>unknown pleasures
>disintegration
>remain in light

all vastly more popular. this heat is babbys first experimental post punk record. still great though

I told the fucking sperg that made the chart to put This Heat and Christian Death on it, but the tard wouldn’t accept it

>babbys first experimental post punk record
Are there any onther exp post punk worth listening to?
>and then claim those are the best, despite not really knowing anything but the most popular albums
I spent over a year listening to mostly all prog and I have to say that it seems like thats the case, the most popular albums are usually the best which is how they got popular in the first place, if an album is good then it will stand on its own merits and get popular among the fans of the genre

This album looks like it's very abrasive.

Unknown Pleasures is entry level, This Heat is also entry level, but like second degree entry level

>Are there any onther exp post punk worth listening to?
yes
>the most popular albums are usually the best
name one genre where that’s the case other than shoegaze

>yes
Can you recommend me some mister :)?
>name one genre where that’s the case other than shoegaze
I just did, prog rock, psych rock too pretty much

>Can you recommend me some mister :)?
no, fetus
>I just did, prog rock, psych rock too pretty much
most would say the most popular prog albums are dsotm, ctte, itcotck, which aren’t the best prog albums.

then walk the talk you fucking faggot and name the great obscure music, but of course you cant because youre just a tranny taking half a day to make a chart of your favourite albums to post on Yea Forums
>oh noo i cant I would be SPOONFEEDING you

It's a pretty good album but their best material are their Peel Sessions, the version of Makeshift is insane

>Peel Sessions
>le 8 minutes of ambient and random noise in between songs
Call me a pleb but I never liked this sorta shit, couldn't get into post rock because of this

what, all post rock?

The albums I tried at least
I gave up after the entry shit didnt suit me

where's tuxedomoon then

i cant stop thinking about how these guys opened for fucking U2 of all bands...
atu2.com/tours/opening/this-heat

amazing you go from playing with this heat to beautiful day hello hello yeah yeah

trippy af
I know U2 used to be a lot better but This Heat is way more out there than they ever got.

>the version of Makeshift is insane
Agreed. It's my favorite track by the band and he Peel Sessions version has this rawness and energy that just isn't there on the studio version.

Its more new wave than post-punk, that's just how new wave sounded in 1981.

retard

i think no is the band name

>second degree entry level
wtf nigga
