We are making a new Yea Forumscore chart

A lot of progress was made last thread, but now it's time for more discussion
(Last thread here: )
I just put them in the chart in order they were posted in the thread, as such we're gonna need to change a lot of stuff. Here is the first original draft, still unfinished. Everything added here was based on how whether it got more than eight replies last thread, now it's time to actually discuss placements. There's also some stuff that might need to be removed and some stuff that might need to be added.

Oh and before any tripfags come in, no. A list of 1000 tradfolk albums isn't Yea Forumscore

Also, does anyone know any better way to make charts? Topsters you can only do nine, forty, forty-two, or one-hundred albums. muchartgenerator isn't working on my computer. Is there a better way to do this?

Attached: mbdtf.jpg (225x225, 4K)

Hot take: Yea Forumscore just a big meme made to make tourists look like dipshits with terrible taste after they unironically say they think these albums are great

I feel like Yea Forumscore is just a way to prevent dipshit newfags from shitting up threads. It's a way of just presenting the basic tastes of Yea Forums and saying "look, just listen to these fucking albums before you post." If Yea Forums mostly listened to classical, Yea Forumscore would be a bunch of classical pieces. If Yea Forums mostly listened to kpop, it would all be kpop

>3 of the albums i suggested made it in
music for the feel?

I can think of about 3 albums for that feel

It was originally seen as a template so you can become acclimated and familiar with board culture, it wasn't meant to just be your new taste.

This chart has 4 more death grips albums than necessary, twin fantasy, daughters, beach boys and the most memed Burzum album on it. Sounds like a massive joke to me because what kind of dipshit would have such terrible music taste. I think you should add Empath by Devin Townsend on that list because clearly the joke just isn't obvious enough for you boys

Attached: 41c4gaDc9iL._SY400_.jpg (400x400, 20K)

Why is graduation on this thing? That album is nowhere near Yea Forumscore

nah let's just keep the old one because so far this one is worse

A few thoughts
1. We need to reorder so that "essential Yea Forumscore" is on top, like on the old charts. Loveless should be in the top ten, Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads is sub-Yea Forumscore
2. I see enough threads about King Crimson and Kanye to justify putting them on the chart, so put those guys on
3. Why is Death Grips near-entire discography on the chart? Can we get rid of some of them?
4. A lot of artists represented by only one album could use a second or even a few more. Boards of Canada, Velvet Underground, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, and Wilco come to mind for me especially
Old chart for reference. There are a ton of albums on here that should carry over to the new chart

Attached: mu essentials.jpg (1781x4325, 3.02M)

The Daughters album should definitely be there. Like if agree.

Take off Neutral Milk Hotel and at least one of the Death Grips albums

Like I said, I only added albums listed in the last thread. We are now going to decide what to add and take off. The old one is out of date

>no post-avant jazzcore
>no progressive dreamfunk
>mfw

Attached: pajcpdf.png (261x267, 25K)

I think Filosofem should definitely be core. I'm surprised it's not already. Metal is underrepresented here. Start with the most normie black metal.

Attached: Animal Collective - Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished.jpg (1417x1417, 270K)

Neutral Milk Hotel is still Yea Forumscore you faggot, I see threads about it every day

Y'all better add this

Attached: ohia.jpg (1200x1200, 352K)

for starters, do one album per artist, don't need every Death grips albums, two Sweet Trip albums, three Beatles...

You forgot this one. People discuss it all the time so it should be kinda high up.

Attached: yes.jpg (268x268, 10K)

This just because of how decisive Joanna is here.

Attached: images - 2019-05-05T040356.744.jpg (326x400, 24K)

Yes, definitely

It shouldn't be limited to one album per artist, the last chart had multiple albums for some artists

I would suggest Streetcleaner but honestly, that album is too good for a shitty Yea Forumschart. It deserves better

having the entire DG discography on your new chart is worse than having two Radiohead albums or whatever on the old one

I'm the guy who said to remove some of the Death Grips albums, I posted

Shinola (Vol. 1) - Ween

Attached: Shinola (vol. 1).jpg (224x224, 20K)

Is there gonna be a meme section?

Attached: Veidt-Horror.png (1476x1400, 943K)

Veidt isn't a meme retard. It is pure art.

>STILL
>NO
>FUCKING
>WILCO

all Yea Forumscore is a meme

Attached: 12DDDE1B-334C-444A-A59E-D5C3FCC83487.jpg (2173x2191, 826K)

Seconded

What are we supposed to be looking at here?

I almost forgot how much I love this album

There is no need for a new Yea Forumscore chart, we already have this one, which is far better suited for this.
Let's introduce new users to something other than rock and token hip hop with something more substantial, including, but not restricted to, classical, jazz, rhtyhm & blues, dance music, experimental, and traditional music.

>A list of 1000 tradfolk albums isn't Yea Forumscore
There aren't nearly as many trad folk albums though. Nobody forces you to listen to them either, you are just made aware of their existence for you to judge.
Also, Yea Forumscore isn't necessarily "what's popular on Yea Forums", it can also be what Yea Forums recommends new users to listen to.

>Yea Forumscore is just a way to prevent dipshit newfags from shitting up threads
Funny that you mention it, because that's exactly what Yea Forumscore does
>i don't get ITAOTS/Loveless/Spiderland/etc, why is it Yea Forumscore again!!??
Pure catalog shitting.

>just listen to these fucking albums before you post
Why is taste stagnation good again? That's EXACTLY what we want to avoid.

Attached: 1556998624172.png (2500x10000, 3.76M)

Honestly if you're gonna put any Death Grips on the chart at all, it should be No Love Deep Web. That's the album I see most oftened posted on here.

Listen I’ve been drinking

this should be on there

Attached: 697e009677d94b9ccb72f89a17a3ed46.jpg (770x765, 214K)

Get outta here Avant Math guy

Did YellowJelly put his own album on the chart?

That's not a real album, it's on there as a placeholder only.

You try to introduce people to to many genres on that chart. The end result is every individual genre is woefully underrepresented. If you made just a classical chart, or just a jazz chart, or just a rock chart, that would be 10000% better

I agree with these
Others? No

Attached: 71dF3pjOavL._SL1400_.jpg (1400x1400, 210K)

>If you made just a classical chart, or just a jazz chart, or just a rock chart, that would be 10000% better
It's the same thing... You have the entire chart, and from the chart you can listen to the categories that interest you.

>The end result is every individual genre is woefully underrepresented.
At the expense of representing music as a whole in a much more accurate way.

>4 DG slots
>TMS
>BP
>Not separating TPTB

>two sweet trip albums on the top 10
>among many other terrible choices
who is the fucking moron making this shit chart holy shit
anyone else want to take over that stupid chart? i can do it if nobody else wants to

Like over said about five or six times already, I added every album in order of when they appeared in the thread. This thread is for reorganizing, as well as adding and taking away some overlooked things

m8, the entire chart is super shit, just start over you moron

why are nico, nick drake and bert jansch included as north american??

There is no saving this fucking train wreck

Because avant math guy is a retard

Because they are following the traditions of the north american contemporary folk style developed by Woody Guthrie out of country.

This. Add MBDTF, please.

Avant math dude should follow the traditions of Veidt and stop posting

This.

I still see Veidt posted though.

wot??? bert jasch makes traditional english folk music. woody guthrie did not invent singing with a guitar

Attached: file.png (1200x1200, 451K)

Bert implemented English folk influences in this American style of music. His music is not English traditional folk at all.

Yeah. But it is other shitposted. That guy is never coming back lol. They Doxxed him.

Poor guy desu.

On Avery Island should get a spot

reposting

This chart is pure fucking AIDS. Get the fuck out of my face with the fucking swill. You people have the WORST tastes imaginable.

These and The Doors - s/t

this

You should limit it to one album per artist.

Pretty sure this is liked by a big enough percentage of Yea Forums to be considered Yea Forumscore by now.
Also don't think that Daughters album belongs there -- too new and probably ignored/disliked by more here than liked. Regardless of how many like it I think an album needs a duration test of like 2 years to really be Yea Forumscore.

Attached: No Now.jpg (960x960, 78K)

This board should feel ashamed about how shitty this list is. You people really are sad and pathetic. I truly feel embarrassed for you all.

suck a dick nigger

WHERE IS MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILLION? MOTHAFUCKA

the fact that newfags suggest shit like this (which is definitely not Yea Forumscore, fuck off) tells us how doomed we are as a board

I'M CRASHING THIS THREAD WITH NO SURVIVORS

Attached: maxresdefault (2).jpg (1280x720, 62K)

>Death Grips on this shit list FIVE fucking times.
That's five times too many. Need I say anything more?

Attached: 1433741809065.gif (240x180, 2.85M)

Attached: earl_some rap songs.jpg (600x600, 53K)

it's a good album, idk what to tell you or how to help you.

you have no idea what Yea Forumscore means
and it's not good, just average
fuck off and go back to Yea Forums

Add Uncle Meat and/or We're Only In It For the Money

I also think Ommadawn, that one Nas album, The United States of America, Billie Ellish, and Magical Mystery Tour are officially mucore

Oh and add a picture of Emily

yeah just keep The Money Store and thats it.

no lullaby land????????????????????

>The United States of America
Based

these

Again

Read the OP you stupid imbeciles. Post an album and if this get eight or more replies it will be add. Fucking cretins.

shut up nerd

the imbecile here is the OP

Wait what did I do? (I’m OP)

this HAS to be on new chart

Attached: R-13396961-1553429803-3427.jpeg.jpg (599x547, 78K)

Having an updated Yea Forums core chart is a good idea since the taste of the board has definitely shifted, it just needs to reflect the board's ACTUAL sensibilities and be a popular album, not an album that you like so you just vote it in.

I don't really give a shit about Sweet Trip. - Velocity:Design:Comfort but that album should definitely be up there because of its surge in popularity over the last few years. Newer albums like You Won't Get What You Want or Little Dark Age shouldn't be in there because it's difficult to discern their popularity from their recency.

add this

Attached: 220px-Random_Access_Memories.jpg (220x220, 9K)

make a shit chart
just give up, Yea Forumscore is a thing of the past, today it's all a hype-train here on Yea Forums

>because of its surge in popularity over the last few years
it's just as popular as it was 5 years ago
fuck off

LDA isn't even Yea Forumscore anymore.

And fuck this moron

its like none of you know what Yea Forumscore means because you all got here today

Oh I see, you’re a dumb smoothbrained retard. I’ve repeatedly explained that this isn’t the chart, but is rather just a list of the albums posted in the last thread, and that it will need to be heavily modified through rearranging, adding overlooked albums, and removing some albums. Get the fuck out of this thread you stupid fucking bitch

You sound like someone who is in desperate need of suicide

Read the last thread you fucking retard

the chart still sucks, and your method of making it does too
also, criticism isn't just abou the op, but about the retarded suggestions of some users

you must've been fun at the parties you never went to

Maybe we should try to consolidate multiple albums from the same artists? There's a lot of artists like beatles, bowie, death grips. talking heads, and swans obviously have a lot of albums beloved by Yea Forums but its kind of redundant. and don't get me wrong, I fucking love Long John & the Silver Beetles but do they really need the exposure of being on our list 4 or 5 times?

hilarious comeback, you sure showed me, idiot

this

These

Why are Endtroducing and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot here? Who gives a fuck about these albums today?

Attached: asstral weeks.jpg (500x500, 65K)

>the chart still sucks
You’re right. Maybe if we rearranged it, added some albums, and removed some, it would be better. Retard

Who gives a fuck about this album today?

>it's another "we're making a new Yea Forumscore chart guyz!" thread
>for the thousandth fucking time

Attached: 1464831669052.gif (267x200, 729K)

you might as well just start over and let someone more competent than you do it

Yea Forumscore is shit

Being that I made the original chart this is based on maybe I will.

Attached: topsters2 (2).png (2276x1183, 571K)

Do it fucker. You too

can this just hold MPP's mandatory spot on old Yea Forumscore threads?

but i second these:
i can't believe this wasn't just a given, granted its basically old Yea Forumscore too but it will always be
we already have so much beatles but god damn is that B-side strong

Attached: PB_PPcov.jpg (1000x1000, 245K)

This is just going to create a schism where people argue about what the “true” mu-core list is. Will lead to loads of bad threads

okay thats all well and fine but i guarantee if you had just made it a normal collage chart instead of the hierarchy option you could've easily avoided it

well there was never absolute definitive Yea Forumscore before, there were just 20 or so albums always talked about to the point where some pattern of taste could be generalized.
then those albums basically became memes within themselves except they're actually good so newcomers would listen and get legitimately hooked. an endless cycle.

oddly enough as far as I've seen tastes change, its not so much newer albums but that Yea Forums seems more open to older albums. though that itself seems to be a trend with actual musics fans of the younger generation, probably because streaming gave them access to centuries of music instead of what is being pushed in the mainstream or specific scenes

I made a demo version of 2010 mucore: imgur.com/a/kqmOHLk
It's on imgur because I can't compress it enough to post here
Electronic section name is absent because I wanted to write here a part of that electronic autist copypaste but seems like my paint don't save it
Also bottom metal row was accidentally cropped but still recognisable
What do you think anons
>Inb4 pleb/reddit
yes we're on Yea Forums

>2010
I mean 2019

>lift to experience
i havent been here in like 4 years did that album become popular here or something? because it fucking whips

Better than the OP, I can tell you that

>did that album become popular here or something?
no, it's as popular as ever

The text in that image is too small to read

>almost all that jazz, electronic, hip hop and metal
not Yea Forumscore

Current Yea Forumscore list is fine, and is perfectly in line with what we've been talking about frequently. The only thing that might need to be changed is the essential Yea Forumscore list, but the albums themselves are fine.

Nothing that's recently come out has prevailed in discussion for that long, except for maybe Blond, YWGWYW, LDA, which are all kinda stretching it, No albums should really be added or taken off.

Also, Die Lit is a meme that no one here actually likes and adding it to the Yea Forumscore chart with albums that people on here do genuinely like would muddy the waters.

We should have a memecore chart.

This is pretty good
I'm OP, and like I have said repeatedly, the chart in OP is not the finished chart. It's all the albums from the last thread

Attached: mucore 2019.jpg (1195x3060, 702K)

Fuck, I thought I was writing paragraphs, didn't realize I was redditspacing

>I'm OP
kill yourself and start over

Can you put Lift to Experience - Texas Jerusalem Crossroads in the modern section please?

No, eat shit you stupid retard. Your brain is leaking out of your ears. The world would be a better place if you were a rape victim

honestly the best attempt yet.
i understand why for organizational reasons but albums that are about 25 years old is funny to call modern, but it works

Seconding a memecore chart
If we were to change the chart, yea, this is probably the best way to do it.

Not bad

My laptop is shit and almost have died while I created and compressed this image so I cant do anything with this anymore and also personally I think that Lift to Experience is too pure and innocent to be Yea Forumscore

these, also Joy Division - Closer

Attached: 220px-Joy_Division_Closer.jpg (220x220, 10K)

yeah i can live with this being the Yea Forumscore chart

jazz is not a Yea Forums genre

I would add The Great Barrier Reefer and The Satanist to metal, as well as Seven Thunders' Roar somewhere.

Attached: 55d6168a.jpg (600x600, 53K)

This is about as accurate as it gets
Reminder that Yea Forumscore doesn't necessarily reflect quality, it reflects the popularity and icon-status of it among Yea Forums

Attached: topsters2 (2).png (1487x658, 1.12M)

my point exactly, so why is there a jazz section in the Yea Forumscore chart?

Dunno

>it reflects the popularity and icon-status of it among Yea Forums
remove LDA, Yeezus, Daughters and DG then

popularity of mbdtf is dying

bump

Attached: Porcupine Tree In Absentia.jpg (500x500, 41K)

>talked about since release
>new album hyped up then had daily threads before people realized it was mediocre and forgot about it
>comes up in every 'wuts gud pop' thread
>fuck off back to Yea Forums
Based schizo user

Pretty good chart actually. Some questionable choices at the top, though
