NOT GOOD

The National has to be the most boring band ever. Why people still give a shit about this sterile garbage?

Is that Alicia Vikander?

ok zoomer

Nah I listened to Boxer when it came out. Almost fell asleep in the bus I was in.

I actually like their songs. If the mood is right They are fun to sing along to and the lyrics are relatable but yeah not all of them are perfect of course

Yes. She is in one of their newest videos

Whatever this shit you're trying to shill is, it looks absolutely fucking terrible.

That's one of the most popular indie bands of the last 15 years

fool

Not popular enough, apparently.

i find them the ultimate grower music
each album seems fucking underwhelming but i find myself going back to it again and again and it gets under my skin and every song ends up being great for me

on the one hand it is all just safe boring dad rock but the arrangements are so well done and all the instrumentation etc works so well and all those repeated little lyrics get into your head and acquire meaning and seem so right and essential but also weird and mysterious and it ends up being endlessly moreish for me

Is someone in the band fucking Vikander or something lol

Friendly reminder that the first thing Anthony Fantano does before reviewing an album is to check the Pitchfork score and then find some way of contradicting/disagreeing with whatever Pitchfork had to say about the album, in this way he strives to appear relevant and above the mainstream

Doesn't seem to be the case for his pop and hip hop reviews

Alicia V. is so gosh darn cute GODDAMN

Fuck Anthony Fantano.

decent cover/10

cringe but true

Pitchfork 7.3 fantano light five
