I fell ya, user. This is gay af. Sounds like a fucking 80s "multiculturalism is great" world music album, with all the soullessness that comes along with it. Ezra is fucking BOOMER-tier now.
It's pretty decent teebeeaych, glad I got an autographed copy of the orange vinyl too. I'm glad to have this music back after all these years.
it's modern day SMiLE you pseud
Hmmmmmm....not quite but not completely off base.

>indie plebs actually enjoy this album
embarrassing
I wish they'd go back to the sound of their S/T so they can stop being shit like they've been for almost a decade.
>Sounds like a fucking 80s "multiculturalism is great" world music album
I'm pretty sure they said in an interview that was what they were going for and surprise surprise you mimic shit you produce shit.
based
this, but unironically
pleb status: filtered
So it sucks ass?
go back to /pol/, mike
>Clearly doesn't understand smile
people who excessively curse bother me
kek
their best album and it's not even close.
this confirms rostam was just holding back our boy Ez
Absolutely this
Pseuds don't understand
holy fuck, Stranger is so good
The major issue with this album? Bambina isn’t 18 minutes longer
It's awful. I did not expect this from Vampire Weekend of all bands.
correct
As a 29 year old, I'm glad I gave up on Rock bands by 2014, 100%.
Saved my youth
cringe
It's alright. Critics will feel a need to not praise it because "WHITE MALE" band, but they secretly love it and will sing its praises for years to come. That being said, it could lose a couple tracks and some guest vocals and be way better than it is.
I'm not even listening to it. Based off the singles I've heard so far, it's unimpressive.

Friendship ENDED with rostam Now brian jones is my best friend
can someone explain the beat pattern to unbearably white, is the double snare thing right before or right at the end of the bar
THIS. SO. MUCH.
this
it has a 83 on metacritic so it's critically acclaimed
I really enjoyed “Sympathy”, but the rest of the album I cant remember even though I listened to it an hour ago, so extremely forgettable
based
albums are not movies, they're designed to be listened to multiple times
>force yourself to enjoy it!
user do you only watch movies once? I feel like this comment would give Yea Forums an aneurism
yikes!
Fuck you I like it
smile is a beautiful journey.
i've heard others describe it as their white album, but the white album is eccentric and far-reaching in its expirementation. the white album is perhaps my favorite album.
and this is coming from a huge fan of the vampire weekend, but this album is so utterly boring. i really liked some of the singles, but this album doesn't really go anywhere. i can see myself skipping a lot of the tracks. and i despise every song with the haim chick on it. it just sounds like drab country duets.
Flower Moon > We Belong Together > Unbearably White > Stranger > This Life > Harmony Hall > Sympathy > Sunflower > Spring Snow > 2021 > Bambina > Hold You Now > How Long > Big Blue > Rich Man > Married in a Gold Mine > Jerusalem, New York, Berlin > My Mistake
to add to this, their previous three albums were vampire weekend albums, this sounds like an ezra solo album. i feel nothing in it but his influence.
This
how long is waaay too low, brother
chill the fuck out
fuck Rostam
Danielle Haim contributed more than he ever did
great fucking record, Ez is a genius
it's very very good
you're just not smart enough to get it
We Belong Together > This Life > Big Blue > Harmony Hall > Bambina > Married in a Gold Rush > Sympathy > Hold You Now > Unbearably White > Flower Moon > Jerusalem, New York, Berlin > Spring Snow > Rich Man > My Mistake > How Long > Sunflower > Stranger > 2021
Unbearably White >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Flower Moon = We Belong Together = Stranger = This Life = Harmony Hall = Sympathy = Sunflower = Spring Snow = 2021 = Bambina = Hold You Now = How Long = Big Blue = Rich Man = Married in a Gold Rush = Jerusalem, New York, Berlin = My Mistake
Ezra dick rider spotted

trash
>I poo poo! I doo doo!
thanks for sharing you stupid retarded faggot
Fag
Fag
vampire weekend always sucked. VW are basically disney presents :talking heads. Also jews larping as wasps
fags
Damn, how are people unironically this unbearable? Also, who’s been arguing that VW isn’t indie pop? The dude is a fucking turbo tourist: look at his Sun O))) review.
Have fun listening to entry level drone, while I plow some RISD bitches while listening to Medusa.
now kith
You’re the one missing out on vampire weekend pussy bro
Agreed. It's easily their worst. Would bump up a point without Haim's presence.
everything about this post is cringe
Based and Unbearably Whitepilled
you guys like we belong together that much??????? I hate it
too early to rank the songs but unbearably white might be the best
kek. this is exactly what you should be expecting from Vampire Weekend at all times
keke based and vampire pilled
>album is a disappointment
>still the only good album in the last 2 years
why does music suck now, bros?
cover looks like they went back to the world music sound. did they?
As someone who found MVotC incredibly uninspiring, there was more here to interest me than the last album for sure.
All you have My Mistake rated so low but I thought it was the first on the record that was actually interesting. That in to Sympathy in to Sunflower is a fantastic 3 song combo. If they embraced that aesthetic for a whole record I would be so into it.
>As someone who found MVotC incredibly uninspiring
stopped there
I'm sorry but I still don't get it. I'm listening to it (again) trying desperately to understand why everyone loves it so much but it just doesnt do anything for me. Sounds like generic indie rock/pop. Gimme the s/t instead. That album is practically flawless. And way more interesting.
yikes
I will admit that I think Obvious bicycle is wonderful. Always have. AND hannah hunt is pretty good. But after that....none of the songs inspire me at all.
agree to disagree
the new gus dapperton album was so much better than this, he's the new big name in indie rn
>Sounds like a fucking 80s "multiculturalism is great" world music album
all their music sounds like that
I was never rich enough to get this band.
You’re not wrong
