Anyone excited for the new James Ferraro album?
Anyone excited for the new James Ferraro album?
le ebbic hr giger art
Not sure its hr giger but its relevant to the subject of industrialisation and ecocide so what's your problem?
im pretty damn sure its hr giger (google him, you can have my left ball if this isnt hr giger art). my problem with it is that it has very strong associations/connotations with the movie alien and cyberpunk/alienhorror culture, so i think its a retarded art design choice for the intended message.
he could have done so much more with the theme of ecocide for the album cover but instead chose to steal some rehashed hr giger art. meh.
great aesthetics but music is probably ass
dude theyre worms
it looks like a big lump of various organic matter left to rot in an oil-spill
Giger or not, it's pretty fitting
my god the state of zoomers. i urge you to read something about hr giger and check out his artwork before being a retard on the internet again.
see: its not fitting at all btw. giger's artwork show's biomechanical matter. this has nothing to do with us destroying the environment or whatever, it has something to do with science ficion and futuristic technology.
dude theyre worms actually look at the image for more than two seconds. it's oily worms and dirt.
lol
t. has never seen alien
>b-but theyre totally worms bruh!
no you idiot. you will watch alien now and read about hr giger. then you will look through his google image search results. then you will come back here and apologize for being a retarded zoomer with zero knowledge about pop culture and art.
throw some oil on some worms and prove me wrong
throw some oil on some worms and prove me wrong. aliens is best alien, stopped watching after 3 because 4 had like wynona ryder and shit and thats dumb. Alien takes itself too seriously initially. Like, we get it Scott, she's in the big scary spaceship with the big scary acid spitting parasite forming monster.
I am very familiar with Geiger
first of all, art is subjective. what the audience perceives is not necessarily what the artist want to convey
Giger's biomechanical nightmares can both be interpreted as dystopian futurism, and as xenophobia for extraterrestrial life-forms
the latter is the more normal interpretations because of his work on Alien and other sci-fi horror movies
not so much Geiger tbf fuck
>retarded art design choic
it's a very ferraro choice actually
so youve seen the movies. then whats you point. you know that this is literally the average comfy alien spaceship living room interior design and not worms.
art is subjective, but i cant think of an artist less subjective now then giger since alien. its pretty clear now what the art is supposed to show.
also its so popular throwing it on an album cover like that without second thought is just retarded. just leave giger's art alone. like people dont throw the fucking mona lisa or starry night by van gogh on their album covers right?
except his first album cover art was actually fitting with the theme and well designed.
sure, it vaguely resembles the walls of the big breeding ship in promethus behind four plastic sheets in a smoky room, this is seriously just oil and worms.
he was commissioned to create an alien and so he did
his older art are still up for interpretation even though most people who have been exposed to his art is through alien-movies
and if we can even call him an artist, Banksy is pretty fucking straight forward
let's ask ferraro lads
what happened to his 4 pieces for mirai project?
i heard the first album and it was great.
but there has been nothing since.
does this satiate your autism?
dude i love prog albums where the b side is one song repeated four times.
yes i am op, very excited, 4 pieces for Mirai was great, hopefully this will be even better
4 pieces for Mirai was just the intro to the real 4 pieces for Mirai which of this is the first piece
pretty exiting desu
same I've been waiting on that since last summer ffs, really cool sound. my favorite project from him so far next to 3am
it just dropped listening rn
this is the sequel to that if you read the descriptions in his bandcamp
oh it actually did lmao
This is part of it. Four pieces was the overture
I read the bandcamp description for 4 pieces, he implied that was a sort of prologue to 4 albums didn't he? Is this going to be the first of those 4, or did he abandon that whole idea and just make 1 project?
Yes, but I really hope he releases unreleased mid-late 00s lo-fi shit. I've heard he has a bunch of stuff from that era.
this is the first piece and nothing inclines he has abandoned the other 3
download anyone?
not a fan of james franco
Listening now, it’s really picking up on track 7. Very cool stuff it’s been great working with this in my ears
listening right now it's dope
this is like what OPN would be now if he didn't become a hack. sounds good, enjoying it a lot.
mirai was great too.
>art is subjective
>t. dumbass
art =/= people's feelings about art
art is absolutely not subjective.
pleaseee
FLAC when?
If there was nobody to view the artwork and give it meaning, it would simply be a collection of materials and/or oscillations. Therefore the viewer is just as important as the artwork hence the artwork being subjective
thanks for reminding, i was going crazy trying to remember which album was coming out today
Yeah man, I agree. Its Alien. everyone's going to look at that artwork and think, 'wow' why is there a section of gigers artwork at the top.
Deleted Biosphere is better than everything off of Mirai overture. Arguably on par with peak OPN.
That, along with Airless Matrix, Xerces Blau, and the last track.
