"I remember what music was like in '89 to '91 right before Nirvana broke. Everything was all just mindless pop, dance, and novelty songs, but nothing that actually spoke to what the kids were feeling. We've been here before and I'm confident that good music can happen again."

Except that's a lie, there was plenty of big records coming out within those years in ROCK ranging from hair bands to thrash and all sorts of new style shit like Pantera and White Zombie, and there were also plenty of people who were not happy at all about Nirvana and "alt rock" becoming the new trend

>endorses Billie Eillish

Out of touch boomer faggot

>"If I ever run into Dave Grohl, I'm gonna kick his fuckin' ass," Zakk fumes. "Because I think he sucks, and he wrote t his cheese-dick song for Ozzy that I have to fuckin' play on, and I'll never forgive him for that. Foo Fighters is a fuckin' candy-ass girl band, but you've got that motherfucker submitting songs, too. I mean, none of these guys could play a Rand Rhoads solo if they tried. Dave Grohl? Fuck Dave Grohl! Let him get up there and play Mr. Crowley; he can't fuckin' do it! and it's like, you're getting this guy to write songs for Ozzy? Just because he played drums for fucking Shitvana?

holy shit is that real? link pls

>Technical guitar talent is the only thing that matters!
What a fucking hack.

So the way to save rock is with...another Foo Fighters album!

>Nirvana
>good music
yikes

>”But I can understand. If I were Zakk Wylde… He's an amazing guitar player, there's no question about it, the guy's an incredible guitar player. If my singer wanted other people to write the songs, I'd be fucking pissed too. I'd be really pissed off, I'd be like, 'Wait a second, I can write music. Why are you asking someone else?' So I understand why he's pissed off.”

Anyone who wears an Indian headdress like that is a fucking moron

but Kurt Cobain constantly said his songs were nonsensical and basically nursery rhymes.

Or maybe he will save rock with another Boomer documentary about something boring like an amplifier used by a bunch of old rock stars

What a load of bullshit.

>Makes a documentary about Sound City
>Every millionaire boomer shits on digital, calling it lifeless
>Trent Reznor praises digital and the fact that it gave young artists an opportunity to produce an album inexpensively in an era of dwindling recording production budgets
>'U-uh well Trent makes digital production have a soul... uh uh greatest artist of my generation.'

Shut up and drum.

They are

I guess it was kind of like the Bee Gees where the lyrics didn't really make sense and were often chosen just because they liked the sound of them or it fit with the beat.

why does he imply that "good music" should be about "what kids are feeling"?

"This is the exact model of Marshall that Jimmy Page used recording Immigrant Song. Take a protip, kids, that's how real music is made."

Based

I hate Zakk Wylde but I have to agree with him here

I remember what music was like in '89 to '91, it was glorious. Acid house, jungle, breakbeat hardcore, hardcore techno, Europe was exploding with ecstasy, happiness and great moods as people moved away from alcohol to happier drugs and music. In America they started listening to mindless, mopey, miserable shitty grunge that spoke to the losers, we'd been there before and hopefully never again.

We were still there with our even poxier indie bands (pre britpop)

Your twistin' my melon man
