What are some examples of musicians hating their own records? Nico on Chelsea Girl: >I still cannot listen to it, because everything I wanted for that record, they took it away. I asked for drums, they said no. I asked for more guitars, they said no. And I asked for simplicity, and they covered it in flutes! [...] They added strings and – I didn't like them, but I could live with them. But the flute! The first time I heard the album, I cried and it was all because of the flute.
I actually quite like the strings, I can't imagine it as a rock album.
Fuck albums let's talk about musicians who HATE NIGGERS
John Nelson
>Nico was described by some friends and colleagues as racist. Her friend Danny Fields, the American journalist who helped her sign to Elektra Records, described her as "Nazi-esque", saying: "Every once in a while there'd be something about Jews and I'd be, 'But Nico, I'm Jewish,' and she was like 'Yes, yes, I don't mean you.' She had a definite Nordic Aryan streak, [the belief] that she was physically, spiritually and creatively superior."[26] According to Fields, in the early 1970s, Nico attacked a mixed-race woman at the Chelsea Hotel with a smashed wineglass, saying "I hate black people".[26]

>nazi-esque she probably said something like hollywood is controlled by jews and that kike immediately compared her to Heydrich
Elijah Lee
David Bowie hated Let's Dance
Aiden Davis
Why?
Jose Collins
That sounds a lot better than what we got.
Kevin Diaz
The label gave him very little control over it, they changed his compositions to be more commercially viable. He wasn't allowed to even play an instrument on it himself, he called it a singer's album not a musician's album.
Sebastian Brown
Devo disliked their sophmore LP due to the production of it sounding gutted
David Harris
They hated Whip It becoming such a big hit. They started out with more punk mentality but became huge overnight and didn't know how to deal with it. Plus it was a political song that everyone thought was about masturbation.
Ryder Lewis
fyi this is the RETARDED BITCH who died cause she couldn't ride a bike lol!
Joseph Johnson
King Crimson hated their third album Lizard.
Joseph Lopez
Robert Burgos of Sweet Trip: "VDC is definitely all over the place and the record as a whole could've been, I don't know, 15-20 minutes shorter? It's funny how I now hear so many disagreeable "glitches" among all the intentional ones. One the other hand, the record is musical stamp of where I was at the time, and listening to it nowadays brings back nice memories of the recording process, and of how excessive and care-free I used to be when locking myself in the bedroom."
Luis Thompson
Dennis Wilson on the Beach Boys MIU Album:
>When asked aboutM.I.U. Albumin the British press, Dennis Wilson said that he "[doesn't] believe in that album" and that it was "an embarrassment to my life. It should self-destruct... I hope that the karma will fuck up Mike Love's meditation forever."[
Lincoln Allen
this would be more based if nico weren't so ugly
Joseph Perry
They hated Moonchild too. And rightfully so

He's great on "My Diane" though. One of his best vocal performances.
James Turner
More like musicians being plebs about their own work.
Easton Gomez
mmm, baby foreskin sure is delicious!
Ayden Moore
>Carl Wilson famously compared the end result to "a bunt instead of a grand slam". bruce johnston is a fucking contrarian though >Bruce Johnston called the album "a thousand times better than the [original Smile] ... It's just the most underrated album in the whole catalog for me."
Bowie didn't HATE Station to Station, but he was so fucked up during the recording that he had no recollection of that entire time period and said he didn't even consider it to be his own album, because listening to it was like listening to someone else.
Not albums but John Lennon hated some of Beatles finest songs like Lucy In The Sky, Let it Be, Across the Universe (he hated how it was recorded not the song itself), Lady Madonna, Hello Goodbye.
Her blood wasn't very pure or clean, apparently, because she had a heart attack while riding the bike and that's why she fell.

i don't think smiley smile has any bad tracks, it's just a lot worse than smile and is pretty weak compared to what brian could do. wonderful and wind chimes are so stripped of their original compositions that they just wander around, but it fits the rest of the album, and the parts in wind chimes and wonderful when the group fucks around with their vocals is great it's the perfect hot weather album for when you're doing nothing though, or just sort of give up on things for a while
Robert Lewis
Kikes and niggers be seething
Fucking scum one day the white men will wake up snd I'll kill you in the streets by the dozens.
Landon Anderson
Exactly. Smiley Smile is the soundtrack to giving up.
Isaiah Foster
No he didn't, but he thought Tonight and Never Let Me Down were shit.
James Hernandez

"Whenever I listen to Iron Fist, I think 'That's not quite right.' Motorhead did not need to record an album just then."
Joy Division didn't like how Unknown Pleasures was produced. They thought it sounded like "fuckin' Pink Floyd" and didn't properly capture their aggression.
Asher Thompson
>didn't properly capture their aggression I can see that, considering Unknown Pleasures is one of the most boring albums that has ever touched my eardrums.
Chase Thomas
>There are some albums of ours I didn't care for. I really didn't like Done With Mirrors. I really didn't like Just Push Play. Others like Rocks I felt were really good for their time.
musician here. there's few things in life as infuriating as when someone tries to change anything about your album. i'm not really a violent person but the rage i felt when i went into a random "update" meeting after being up for 39 hours working on the last couple of songs for an album, and hear some boomer fuck in his 50s telling me what i "need" to change about the album almost made me leap across the table and either headbutt him or get a decent punch in.
The title track is one of their best songs though so itd be like watching your ex get fucked really well
Matthew Evans
Lou Reed was Jewish, yes?
Chase Clark
and? jews are white
Owen Morgan
Why do they want to to do it? They think it'll sell more?
Leo Morales
yeah but nico slept with most of her collaborators so she couldn't resist the BJC. pretty sure that's why there was bad blood between lou and cale for a while the two did make some of their best tracks together though
"Without intending to do, we somehow had a hit song with [Paranoid]. People started coming to our concerts who only knew us from that song. Some of them even started dancing! After that, we were careful to never make anything of the sort again."
Desertshore [Reprise, 1970] The Velvet Underground and Nico plus Chelsea Girl convinced me that Nico had charisma; The Marble Index plus Desertshore convince me that she's a fool. The difference is that now Nico writes the songs--songs with titles like "The Falconer" and "Abschied," songs that indulge her doleful monotone instead of playing rhythms and tempos against it. Nothing new here--bohemian hangers-on always get to publish their work while the less socially adept ("charismatic") are shafted. John Cale, with his "spare" arrangements, plays patron. C
