It's not, but religion is generally about self-discipline. So for some people stopping the taking of mind-altering substances is a way to actually practice their belief system. The majority of religious people always have rules about self-deprivation, it's not specific to Christianity.

Obviously high THC content weed smoking wasn't common at the time, neither was cannabis in general, but I consider it as a temptation of the flesh which should be avoided.
and I was a weed user/dabber for over ten years. It had zero benefit on my spirituality, it just made my life slightly more comfy while draining my wallet.
It was never fulfilling but I could not stop reupping whenever I ran out of weed or oil.
One day you may realize weed is no longer serving you any benefit, have the willpower to put it away.

In my experience the opposite occurs, it pushes you into a caveman mentality.
I've tried DMT, shrooms, 2cb, LSD, all multiple times.
At the time I thought I was gaining wisdom from these experiences but again, the opposite was occurring.
It wasn't until I got sober that I started to really sense a presence of God, understand what "holy spirit" means, and transcendental meditation had a role as well.
Trust me, don't go down the rabbit hole. go up and towards something greater: Jesus.
Get sober, practice your transcendental meditation, pray, and you'll tap into a goldmine without any drugs needed.

depending on how much you smoke, you’re probably experiencing the fixation associated with smoking while listening to music. give it a little time and you’ll enjoy music without weed as you should. the christianity part I can’t help you with.
