Depends what you're looking for, OP.

If you want more straight-ahead, hard bop kinda stuff, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, Horace Silver, etc.

If you want more avant garde, Eric Dolphy, Alice Coltrane, Cecil Taylor are standards.

Fusion-y stuff to check out could include Wayne Shorter and Jaco Pastorious.

I've really been into west coast/cool stuff lately. A few groups go without piano/guitar, so it's cool to hear how they build harmony without an instrument that can easily play chords. I like Gerry Mulligan a lot, especially his quartet with Paul Desmond. He might be kinda played out/corny, but I like the albums where Chet Baker sings (like, "Chet Baker Sings").

A lot of contemporary jazz is all about melding the genre with the J Dilla "drunk" aesthetic. Nate Smith, Kareem Riggins, Snarky Puppy are good places to look.

Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Rollins, Lee Morgan

Why the fuck do you need someone to tell you what to listen to???

If you’ve actually listened to a decent sampling of those artists you mentioned then you should have a pretty good idea of what players you like or don’t care about. So just click on over to Wikipedia and start looking through their discographies to find interesting combinations of artists you’re familiar with or have only heard of.

Why are you listening to jazz music? It's boring. Classical's pretty boring too but slightly less so than jazz. I played trumpet for 3 years in middle school so I get to have an opinion on the topic.

Don Cherry for that brown rice tchikitchikitcha madness
