also after the first wave a lot of BM is just sonorous sonic mush, no different from shoegaze other than superfical stuff (more distortion, growling, blastbeats), so it's a very tourist-friendly genre. its only barriers of entry are ideological (avoid the spooky nazi bands!!!)
