Noah Morris
that's the second best

Alexander Martinez
how is it overproduced when its using the same techniques and standards most good sounding music does? like double tracking vocals, or using effects pedals? loveless does both of those things by the way. by your own logic, that is overproduced to shit. i cant stand loveless. its more of an athletic

can you sell me on the appeal of endtroducing? I've listened to it a few times, and it never struck me as anything amazing.
Oliver Lewis
No, I can't. It's just my favorite. You don't need to like it.
Daniel Clark
strikes a really good balance between atmosphere and melody like music has the right to children, really haunting wallpaper music
Dominic Long
What I love about endtroducing is the discretion. The man spent a long time looking through a lot of records to find samples and he had the discipline to avoid tossing everything neat he found into a bungled casserole of samples. Everything is tasteful and precise. Take note of how long the songs are, they're much longer that traditional hip hop instrumentals. J dillas donuts, while maybe equally good for it's own merits, can be considered an aesthetically diametric album.
Angel Russell
Punk sounds better when it uses less studio techniques and just sounds like it was recorded in one take. The raw sound is what really gives it it's punch. Shoegaze as a genre relies a lot more on having a ton of effects at use at once to give a certain feeling so "overproducing" a shoegaze album doesn't really have the same negative impact overproducing a punk album has.
