it a bullet. those are the lowest tiers of an already low quality guitar brand. switching the pickups like that other user said, would be a negligible upgrade because youre going to be stuck with all of the other low quality parts. not to mention a good set is going to cost you as much if not more than the guitar itself. the neck is HIGHLY important in regards to play ability. if you only saved some more money you could get a better instrument.

"faggy metal guitars" are closer to design intent of real guitars just by having flat fretboards and as much range as possible so they can be better solo instruments. Not to say their players are closer to real guitar players, they just do what rockfags do but higher pitched.
The american rock guitar is not a solo instrument. It is limited and specialized to spending 80% of its time rhythmically playing chords in an ensemble, with a vocalist making up the meat of the sound. So it is intentionally limited to a reduced range and the fretboard is given a dramatic curve to make it easier for hillbillies to play barre chords. It's even played with a pick because who the fuck would ever play their own accompaniment. 8 string guitars played with picks are the funniest shit.

We usually do five rounds. Backing tracks in a variety of genres picked out by the thread and then confirmed by me. I usually give them about twenty minutes to upload their attempt; the competitors invariably want more time so they can rehearse their 'improv'. If there's a clear winner for a round I just call it, but if it's close sometimes we vote. If they miss the deadline they lose that round by default. Many tears ensue.

The double pickups have no humming, but have a different sound, being warmer and thicker. Is there anything else I should know about pickups, or should I just do some more homework and google it?

MIM stands for made in mexico. There isn't a huge quality bump just because of the country, but fender specifically specs those guitars with mid-range parts too shitty for their american line and too good for squier. You'd do well to look outside america's #2 meme brand. Gibson's cheapest gibson branded LPs are a league above MIM fenders and so is basically any ESP and the vast majority of $500-800 guitars made by WMIC's korean factory (this includes fucking dean of all things but legend has it deans are assembled from shit that didn't even make the cut for schecter)
Humbuckers are actually two single coils, and many guitars with them come with a switch that turns them into two single coils. If they're 4-conductor pickups you can do it yourself if it hasn't been done already. Strictly speaking they are the gods of tonal versatility and people only buy single coil guitars for the aesthetics.

This is generally true but pickups still fall into different categories within these families. For single coils there are strat and tele pickups, P90s, jaguar pickups, jazzmaster pickups, humbucker sized single coils, lace sensors that are hum-cancelling etc and humbuckers come in the form of filtertrons (also very bright and found on gretsch guitars), shawbuckers (generally more single coil like), standard humbuckers, mini humbuckers, single coil sized humbuckers etc. Moreover you can generally split humbucker pickups in order to operate them on a single coil. Seymour Duncan offers the P-Rail pickup which enables you to toggle between a single coil, P90 tone and a humbucker. It also depends on how they are wound, which magnets they use, single pole pieces or not. Another aspect you could think about is going with a combination of different pickups e.g. single coil neck and humbucker bridge or vice versa. I would advice you to listen to a few type of pickups in order to get a feel for the sound. Optimally in a store of course and not on youtube.

What youre gonna be looking at is speaker wattage rating. Most are 25 w or higher. I use a joyo 20 watt on one of my 4x12s and it sounds great. You will probably have a harder time making a non hi gain head distort though
