And Evol is better than all of that.

Pornography>Disintegration
Year Zero > The Downard Spiral
Minutes To Midnight/A Thousand Suns > Hybrid Theory/Meteora
My War > Damaged
Daisy > The Devil And God
Raw Power > Fun House
Ride The Lightning > Master of Puppets
We Cool? > WORRY
Station to Station/Blackstar > Ziggy Stardust
The Piper At The Gates..> The Dark Side Of..
Blur > Oasis (it's sad that this is considered unpopular)

Gothic rock shouldn't be considered a post-punk subgenre
All correct except the NIN statement

Riff oriented songs shouldn't be more than 3 minutes long.

In/Casino/Out > Relationship of Command
Deftones s/t > White Pony
Sunny Day Real Estate LP2 > Diary
End Hits > Repeater, The Argument, etc.
Vee Vee > Icky Mettle
All of Unwound’s earlier material > Leaves Turn Inside You

>All correct except the NIN statement
You have to open up your eyes.
It's either Year Zero >The Downward Spiral
Or Year Zero >The Downard Spira

Or Year Zero >The Downard Spira
Shit, I meant
"Or The Fragile > The Downard Spiral"
A lot of NIN albums are actually better than TDS.

Washing Machine is the best SY. And in general, aside from DN, almost every album they released after 80s is better that than those prior to DN.

The Rising Tide is, by far, the best Sunny Day Real Estate album. After that comes LP2.

Kveikur is the only good Sigur Ros album.

Ultra is the Depeche Mode's crowning achievement. And I'm not sure I'd put Violator right after it..

100th Window is way overlooked and underrated. I'm baffled, it should be regarded as highly as all Massive Attack previous works.

Division Bell is the best non-70s Pink Floyd album, and gets shit on relentlessly

Lizard by King Crimson is a great album, but the original mastering is fucking shit

Graduation is better than Late Registration

Heroes is better than Low

Scentless Apprentice is shit, and the acoustic direction was a welcome change for Nirvana before Cobain offed himself. DoReMi is pure genius

Pet Sounds is a bore. The Smile Sessions are at least listenable, but it's a 6/10 vs a 5/10. Smiley Smile is irredeemable garbage

The Bends and Amnesiac are extremely overrated albums that do not deserve to be in the RYM top 100. A Moon Shaped Pool is mediocre and King of Limbs Live version is outstanding

Bowie's Outside is sublime once you remove the filler tracks (Segues and Wishful beginnings)

the Marshall Mathers LP is not as good as I remember it being

Close to the Edge by Yes is better than any prog album by Genesis, but I overall find Prog-Genesis much more listenable

2Pac is better than Biggie by the sole reason of having 10 times the material. Biggie put out one amazing album, one decent double album, and a meh post-humous album. 2Pac has at least 3 unequivocal classics

I don't care for Rolling Stones or early Zepellin much. I hate blues in general

that's not an unpopular opinion.
many people are similarly wrong.

nothing is better than funhouse

I'm not that much of a NIN fan desu but I've always considered TDWS to be more emotionally honest than their later albums, even though it is technically less well-thought

That is kind of funny as with TDS is one of the times when Trent is taking some liberties, he wasn't that deep into drugs at that point, yet it is filled with drug references.
Albums like The Fragile or Wth_Teeth are far more emotionally honest, even Pretty Hate Machine, TDS is obviously still honest, but it bends certain ways from Trent's life to fit the story of the album.

Okay, the fact that you got dubs twice made me consider to give to all of them a re-listen, you may be actually right

Flipper is shit
The Slits are shit
The Raincoats are shit
Joy Division is shit
Pere Ubu is shit

>Pere Ubu is shit
Woah hold up there buddy, how can you believe this?

ironic shit vocals are still shit

Especially consider The Fragile, it is Trent's "Pornography" basically an album where he let's his demons for all to be seen, it is made when he is basically at his lowest and after the death of his grandmother who has raised him, some songs are dedicated to her (The Day The World Went Away, I Am Looking Forward To Joining You).
With_Teeth is made after his rehab from drugs, while it is one of his accessible, most straightforward rock release, he still does plenty of interesting things, he knows how to write a hook and a melody, and it is still very raw about the feeling of losing relevancy, losing your youth, but also the feeling of surviving.

Yeah but besides that it rocks, can't you just pay less attention to them? Plus, they aren't even that bad, the guy's just speaking like a drunk

Better than SILY

Most the new Emo sucks, they are far too fucking try hard with their vocalists sounding as obnoxious as possible. I love raw vocals, but they make themselves sound like utter retards, The Brave Little Abacus is an amazing example of this, yes, the music, the lyrics are amazing, but I've yet to meet anyone to make a good argument why the guy has to sound so fucking bad.
I can take everything, vocals that don't quite match the melody, tone deafness, whatever, I love the rawness, but what the fuck are these people doing? What is the purpose of this?

All of these are wrong, good job

>Most the new Emo sucks
This is just straight up fact desu, don't even know why Yea Forums has got such a hard boner for this shit when both 90s midwest and emocore are clearly superior

I'll even take the early 2000s over what we have now, it has some good shit Thursday/Brand New and other stuff from that around the time that is around decent, 2010s emo is just something I don't really get.
The current state of Midwest Emo is just so incredibly obnoxious to me, it became an obnoxious genre rather than one full of emotion.

It has been this way since the late 90s imo, nobody could overcome both Boys Life's quality of instrumentation and Cap'n Jazz's blend of emocore's anger and midwest's melodicism, so even the 00s stuff sounds kinda blank to me due to the lack of development in genre's sound, except for maybe that A Newfound Interest In Connecticut's album

Curve are better than either My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive.

Thanks

Death Industrial is way better than Power Electronics

pretty much so

Bump

Lee Ranaldo is cooler than Thurston Moore

My god

The universe is telling you to listen to The Fragile

>Kveikur is the only good Sigur Ros album
>Pet Sounds is a bore
>The Raincoats are shit
We're reaching inhuman levels of cringe

Souvlaki was better than Loveless

Gay opinion buddy
