to be fair, the limitations and restrictions of hardware synths are what make them such a joy to work with. it's tangible, it's direct, and you're playing an instrument as opposed to fiddling around with mouse clicking to tweak knobs. it just feels so much more intuitive using hardware and allows for better flow of creativity and production.

But the job itself will dry even the deepest wells of creativity. It's a soul crushing path, I pity them, but they know what they signed up for. No man can rest at night knowing they have achieved nothing with their labor. Managerial jobs only create abstract profit, not any tangible good or service. I never said vile things about VST. You're talking to someone who mainly uses VSTs but respects the opportunities that hardware opens up. I've only messed with a few hardware synths but god damn I feel like I can generally be more creative and fluid with my songwriting and production that way. I used VSTs for years before ever touching hardware. One that specifically sticks out in my mind though is EWQL Symphonic Orchestra and Akoustik Piano by Native Instruments. Amazing instrumental sounds with tons of variation and EQ and effects capabilities. I can't get that from any hardware synth.
