>always put delay and reverb after dirt ever since I started playing guitar >somehow decide to put delay and reverb before fuzz for shits and giggles >mind explodes holy crap this is awesome
Camden Jenkins
Meanwhile Dean needs no introduction. They're just good, and they don't try and empty your wallet because "dude made in japan lmao, tonewooded folded a billion times can cut through fenders".
should i put a HSS set on it, or just a bridge humbucker? since the bridge will be some cheap potmetal tuneomatic, i wonder if it's worth the strat pickups.
the gibson name doesn't have prestige anymore. the new generation thinks they're poser guitars for pretending to be ozzy that give you $300 guitar quality at a $3000 pricepoint.
and ESP just sells you a "handmade in japan" label on a guitar that's worth a quarter of what they sell it for. might as well just buy an ibanez.
now, dean, that's a guitar company. ESP even copies them.
gibson stays relevant either way , how's your own guitar brand doing?
Gabriel James
the deal is to buy a Condor or a Giannini, or a Vintage if you want to go anglosaxon.
Benjamin Green
The most press gibson gets these days is whatever their latest scandal is.
Whatever they used to have to offer over fender is gone and they've been totally eclipsed by PRS in terms of quality and popularity among serious artists.
Joseph Morris
oh so you're a prs stockholder?
Chase Green
>the gibson name doesn't have prestige anymore Get a load of all of this coping.
Will give it a go but how do I do it? Also how do I know what strumming pattern to use? I've been playing under a year and typical strum to the vocal melody
Carter Wilson
Listen to more black music
Kayden Edwards
>call your brand vintage >try searching for vintage guitars
Alexander Young
>try "vintage brand guitars"
Isaiah Torres
Yeah the guy that thought up their brand name deserves a prize
Leo Ortiz
How about some genuine help?
Carter Myers
woah bro how many black sabbath riffs do you think you could play on that mother :O
Jeremiah Cook
because you didnt practice it
yea lmao
Isaiah Green
Do they make a guitar specifically for people who don't belong on Yea Forums, an anime website? Because if so, that's the most appropriate guitar for you.
Austin Russell
Old as fuck but can I play too? Got a few new pedals and a new pickup for the upright since I took this...
Any risk in running a fuzz pedal (set to unity volume) through the effects loop of an amp? I'd like to place one after my reverb unit to attain some shoegazy sounds. I guess the idea would be to play with a clean preamp signal. My fear is that gain increase at this stage would have the potential to cause damage.
Henry Perry
what else do you think the fx loop is for you dingus
Zachary Wilson
Whites don't have rhythm as evidenced by your honky ass post. You might have the melodies but you sure as hell don't got the groove. So listen to some funky black music.
Carson Rogers
a distortion pedal doesnt mean increased gain if you set the pedal volume to match the volume of when theres not pedal on the loop, you dingus
yeah, and end up making voodoo music. he just needs to practice creating rhythms with a metronome
Ian Rivera
Was my assumption but I'm asking around as there is some fearmongering on this topic floating around the web. Thanks
Aaron Stewart
>pic related is hss mexi strat
Am looking to upgrade the trem system and pickups cause the Mexican hardware is trash. I'll use this guitar for mainly clean style stuff. Any recommendations for pickups and or trem?
Should have just bought an american pro. Make it to american pro specs
Adrian Campbell
If you buy into this just give up on rock folk and so on and play either classical or melodic death metal wanking like the ultra-stereotypical european you are with atrophied empathetic facilities preventing you from syncing with a rhythm
And if you're african and buy into this please refrain from creating anything but rap because your brain is too underdeveloped to create decent melodies
The rest of us normal people will however continue to create normal music.
You won't break anything, you MAY run the risk of it sounding bad by not running through the preamp to smooth the sound a bit. I mean, a fuzz is just a shit preamp by definition anyway, but still. It might work for you though, try it and let us know how it goes .Top Kek. So right and so wrong. Listen to everything, learn to internalise a metronome, not just to react to the sound. Seperate counting and metronome and bring them back together to make a great time feel. Learn to swing on the 2 and 4 and not just the 1 and 3, if you memorize your chord voicings too, you'll be able to play them quicker too and your brain will 'feel' the time more.
source: Jazz bassist
Ethan Parker
grab a metronome, start picking a note or a whole chord in 16ths or something and create random rhythm patterns by mutting with the left hand. then try to make complicated syncopated rhythms. that's how i practice it. lots of fun.
but it's with a hardtail tuneomatic bridge, it wont have the air and quack of a strat
wanna know something, because i'm poor, the humbucker will be the les paul's stock bridge pickup. and i'll use the les paul's stock neck pickup on the acoustic guitar.
David Powell
I kinda regret buying it but it was my first guitar so really didn't know any better. Haven't used it a lot since I bought a les Paul but I still want to get the most out of it by upgrading it
then just practice strumming patterns to a metronome you dumb fuck, what else do you expect? and fuck off
Colton Hill
You dont own a les paul you delusional fool
Jackson Wood
How good should I be after 8 months of playing guitar
Kayden Williams
That should still give it a pretty unique and wide range for tone. Will this be your main guitar then? You said in another thread that you were saving money, what are you thinking about getting?
Andrew Cruz
about as good as jcum but you should get a lot better after 8 more months
assuming you practice at least 1 hour every two days (but you should practice more than an hour each day and practice meaningfully)
Hudson Lopez
is this a sg maybe. the first reason i'm doing it is so i have a compact guitar to practice at the petshop. did i say i was saving money for this one's pickups? i'll buy some cheap alnico single coils from mercado livre. or maybe i'll try some weird shit, since i wont get a true strat sound anyway
Jeremiah Cruz
> >is this a sg Not him, but no, it's not.
Carson Howard
heres news for you, nobody outside of /gg/ cares
Sebastian Gomez
I know a lot of guitar players that would disagree with that.
Justin Martin
No, it's a VS6
Robert Cook
well i know a lot that wouldnt. i'm better with what's near me
Jackson Parker
You don't know any guitar players
Wyatt Jackson
Nice peasant cope
Hudson Evans
do you refer to a pen by its brand too? you know who does that bullshit? iphone owners. you're like an iphone owner. everyone calls it a phone or smartphone and iphone owners have to state all the time that they have an apple phone.
you dont know any humans, basement loser
Jayden Parker
No, I call it a pen. But I don't hold up a Pilot and call it a Bic.
Tyler Morris
>no you Wow and youre retarded
Camden Carter
Mayeb next time dont step out of ypur peasant lane and call your gear by ita proper name: chinkshit ripoffs
Samuel Murphy
it's a pilot and you call it a pen. anyone calls a strat copy just strat because that's its role and what it is for all maters but brand name.
do the same and stop calling yourself a guitarist or a musician
Isaac Butler
You don't even know how to make proper analogies.
Pen = Guitar (What it physically is) Pilot = Gibson (Brand) G-2 = SG (specific product)
I have a pen, it's a Pilot G-2. I have a guitar, it's a Gibson SG I have a guitar, it's a Dean Thoroughbred I have a guitar, it's a Vintage VS6
Jonathan Price
HSS is super handy. Sometimes I do wish I had a true SSS strat just for the sake of it. HSS is just versatile, practical, and easy to toggle.
Joshua Foster
nice trips, but I think this makes the signal unnecessarily dirty I don't like distortion/fuzz after modulation effects (delay reverb) since modulation effects usually have wider frequency responses while distortions/fuzzes tend to compress the signal and shorten the frequency range So everything ends up sounding really compressed and sludgey If that's the tone you want, then go for it, but if you want to hear what effect doesn't and how they interact clearly do modulations first
Zachary Brooks
a normal person's mind : a stack of pancakes your mind : a crepe
Again, you suck at analogies. Pancakes and crepes are two different things. You don't have the capability of forming a decent argument, so you're just putting words together.
Brody Hughes
get a humbucker made of two single coil bobins so when splitd it sounds like a true single coil Malagoli makes one btw
Thomas Robinson
Do you call random people "friends"? Because, same thing, right?
i dont have it anymore, wait for someone else to post it
Dominic Butler
Redpill me on the RAT one. Does it get along with tremolo and single coil pickups? Can I think of approaching metal-esque distortion with it?
Christian Sanchez
Did you really just let your neighbor beat your ass and not do anything about it?
Adam Lopez
nobody beat me phisically since middle school
William Smith
Yes, yes, depends on your idea of "metal-esque"
Landon Mitchell
Something like 6gig. Not all that metal but still heavy.
Logan Peterson
What about that one tranny that violently fucked you in the ass? Why would you get beat up in middle school? Was it because youre a sperg?
Easton Nguyen
Not him but everyone gets beat up in middle school at least once.
Joshua Foster
>6gig Who? IDK. Go on youtube and listen to demos.
Adam Adams
I've never been beat up
Charles Lopez
booooo
Zachary Sullivan
Not me loser Thats because life already whooped your ass trachefag
Michael Howard
Why boo? You can tell if it's what you want with your ears better than I can tell you with my fingertips.
Cameron Torres
Do you even listen to yourself?
Hudson Powell
No because I dont say out loud what im typing like a fucking retard
Daniel Harris
Keep proving my point. I'll be right over here.
Evan James
it wasnt remotely violent
ahahahah
Juan Gonzalez
Im sure you will incel. You ain git jack shit better to do than shitpost and win imaginary victories over the internet and jack off to cartoon images of chinese children's feet.
Justin Young
You have me confused for Jcum
Gavin White
>search for fat 50s demos >it's always fucking red hot chili peppers
What's so great about those? I'd rather get something similar to the humbuckers it came with, especially because I like adjustable pole pieces.

Brandon Lopez
>he still uses a tube amp >in 2019 >he still records electric guitars with a microphone >in 2019 >he still uses an electric guitar without six individual, intonatable saddles >in 2019
Is there really much benefit to spending more than $1000 on a guitar if you aren't a professional? After all, amps are much more important to tone than your guitar.
Brody Adams
Amp sims can sound pretty damn good, even free stuff by Lepou. Still not entirely convinced by impulses though. Maybe if you do chugga chugga shit with no dynamics it's fine.
Birds are sexy af. Supposedly the newer tuners don't fug up your headstock.
I have one, its my first and I only got it recently. max I can purchase at once is $500 on it.
I'll probably wait till I have about half whan it costs saved up and do one of the monthly payment options. Or ill just get an SE and buy another guitar alongside it.
I have 2 basses I love, a 4 string and a 5 string. my 2 guitars are an epiphone les paul special 2 and a really shitty cheap dean vendetta. I like my special 2, but I just want some nice guitars. thinking of a Schecter Bashee elite 7 and a PRS SE custom 24
Brayden Perry
Sweetwater does financing for retards who want to get in debt
Andrew Moore
Why dont you get a korean dean? Its the same quality as the se. Get a dean korean hardtail.
Jaxson Davis
Amp sims aren't even necessary. Ain't nothin' wrong with transistor or especially op amp overdrive, and cab simulation can be accomplished with an EQ by simply killing the bass below around 80 Hz and killing the treble above around 3-4 kHz.
>and cab simulation can be accomplished with an EQ by simply killing the bass below around 80 Hz and killing the treble above around 3-4 kHz. I must add that I wouldn't actually do this, since full frequency range guitar tracks are more useful in a modern mixing setting. That's why recording with a mic is dumb. Don't bother me about this; John Mayer agrees with this.
Tyler Davis
Who the fuck is john mayer?
Liam Richardson
PRS McCarty is sexy If I got a dean I would get a Cadillac
This is Juan. Juan couldn't afford a Gibson because he only gets paid $5 per hour under the table in cash for picking oranges. Juan bought himself a Dean, instead. God Emperor of the United States Donald Trump had Juan deported, so now Juan is starving and eating his Dean.
Pretty sure your strict diet of semen makes you a saltier individual than me
Brayden Taylor
Thats a beautiful quilt top.

Cooper Morales
This is sad because juan unironically makes 3 times. What sammy does.
Brayden Jenkins
>ashtray cover still on the guitar What are you trying to hide, son? Juan sends 2/3 of it back to Mexico, silly goose, so they're even.
Lincoln Miller
Not true because 2/3rds of juans family is already on the u.s whatever money sam can guve his parents is spent on keeping his dad alive.
Eli Adams
really cool pedalboards everyone. i'm actually thinking of moving some stuff around on mine.
Looking for a nice overdrive to stack with my 250 overdrive. I saw an Ampeg Scrambler, now I’m curious if that’ll compliment my 250.
My other idea was taken from seeing a Pelican Noiseworks 50/50 which is two Dod 250s in series almost like their Punkifier pedals minus the fuzz side. With so many variations on the 250 circuit, I was curious which one would be best to pair with my 250 reissue? Pretty sure they have some good Grey clones out there for me to purchase or should I get one with the LF351 chip?
Imagine if you spent this effort practicing guitar instead
Julian Ward
so true and it would be nice if i did instead of spending so much time on reverb. thanks for the fast (you) though user. anyways this is for my bass rig I just started and I dig the overdriven bass tone especially the SVT or the v4.
Logan Harris
>tfw can't into AbMaj6 selling my guitar tonight
Thomas Stewart
How the fuck do I get good at improvising? I'm talking full up, you and your band are just gonna jam in B major or something... it's your turn to solo. HOW?
Please, don't tell me to play G# minor pentatonic. Like how do you get real good? Like jazz fusion good?
>Can I think of approaching metal-esque distortion with it? Fuck no. Graham Coxon from Blur used two of them on his board and the most you can get is overdrive to distortion to fuzz. It doesn't have that "metal" sound you're looking for.
Evan Collins
>even bothering to put your pedals on a board >having so many pedals you have to put them on a board
Same case my Explorer came in, they didn't redesign shit.
Jayden Taylor
So much cope.
Hudson Young
tfw your guitar teacher doesnt reply to your texts
Jonathan Wright
I used to think they used a straight headstock angle until I saw one in person. Why the fuck did they need to angle it like that with a normal style headstock? It's so fucking backwards
Benjamin Williams
if you want to get nerdy it's better to have no headstock at all among other things and the vast majority of guitars are built suboptimal for the sake of tradition and being merely "good enough"
What options do people like Sammy have, who only earn $1.35 an hour?
Logan Gonzalez
It sounds like the guitar signal is trying to fight its way through the dirt and I think it sounds awesome. Not for every purpose of course, but it's right up my alley.
David Reed
>Thinking Mustaine's Dean isn't an overpriced American one
Hell yeah! I've always wanted that bright 60's psychedelic sound. The Texas special pickups in it sound amazing.
Neat board user. What do you like to play and what do you use for amps and guitars?
My three saddle bridge :^)
The karma suture is one of my favorite fuzzies. Great for overdrive to medium/high gain fuzz. Takes a while to learn the knobs but once you do, you can get a lot more mileage out of it. I did end up taking it off the board in place of an NKT red dot sunface but it still has a place on my second board.
Chase Sullivan
learn your scale box shapes but ALSO learn scales up and down each string. Learn what interval it would be if you were to move from string to string in different frets (from the 7th fret on the low E to the 9th fret of the A string is a perfect 5th, etc). after you learn all of that plus theory and intervals, you can play what you hear in your head.
Charles Mitchell
To add on to this: practice! Just find some inspiring backing tracks or get a looper pedal and pound away. Jazz musicians didn't get that good JUST from going up and down scales. They spent thousands of hours experimenting and developing their sound probably within a band context.
Jackson Richardson
Based. I wish they did an RG 750 genesis
Jaxon White
do you want to learn top 40 pop songs on acoustic guitar? then yes
do you want to learn to play the guitar or undersstand music? then no
Samuel Lopez
Just learn to read Sheet music
Camden Stewart
>buy loop pedal >Actually practice guitar for once >Already have some nice bass lines from months ago Song writing is actually pretty easy when you have the bare minimum equipment Who woulda thunk
Zachary Flores
can anyone take a picture of hold they hold the Bb chord? I need good reference, I cant get it down right
Jason Kelly
A shape barre chord on 2nd fret? How fucking hard is that? If you're a terminally lazy bastard like me, you'll have trained your fingers to pull all A shapes with 2 fingers.
Owen Ross
*1st fret, of course.
Zachary Long
>How fucking hard is that? This is nonsensical, 99% of people on the planet cant play a single chord, stop stroking your ego for one second brainlet
Jace Richardson
If you struggle with an A shape barre chord, guitar isn't for you. In fact, music is probably not for you.
Bentley Evans
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME FIND THE CHORDS TO THING SONG AAHHHHH, I THINK THE VERSE GOES F-Dm-Gm7-C7-A7-Dm7 BUT I CANT FIGURE OUT THE CHORUS PART AHHHH youtube.com/watch?v=zNleRacuI7E
You wont find a single person on the planet who could play the A shape barre chord instantly without practice
Cooper Rivera
Do some ear training
Henry Cooper
>he can't play the A shape barre chord yet Your mediocre is showing
Cameron Parker
And you just got told how to practice it? Go fucking practice instead of whining about how hard it is to use the simplest 2/4 finger chord you can fret.
Dominic Davis
im a begginer, mediocre is a compliment >And you just got told how to practice it? i didnt >whining about how hard it is to use the simplest 2/4 finger chord you can fret. You are the one whining, i just asked for a photo
Ayden Richardson
Do an A chord, with your middle, ring and pinky instead of index, middle and ring finger. Now move that shit up one fret and use your index finger to press down all strings apart from low E on the first fret. The pain will subside, eventually.
Fuck you and your needy ass needing a photo for that shit.
Carter Parker
Transcribe licks and transpose them in every key, then drop them into your jams.
Jazz fusion isn't going to be super attainable when you start out because being halfway decent at it requires an extensive development of music theory knowledge and technique. That's why learning other people's licks is helpful: you can analyze them in the context of the theory you do know and use them to come up with your own lines.
There are actually a few shortcuts to creating some jazzy tension/resolution ideas in your lines but they won't make much sense unless you understand the logic behind them.
Nathan Bennett
literally just practice for like an hour a day for a week or so, you'll get it eventually, its frustrating in the beginning but eventually you'll be able to create beautiful music with your fingers, there's nothing quite like it
Jason Rodriguez
Chibson
Andrew Garcia
where the fuck my shitplank gang at rise up
Noah Barnes
MXR Distortion+ is the same circuit with germanium instead of silicon. Would go great with the asymmetrical clipping of your yellow 250. If you got the cash to spend I would go with EarthQuaker's Gray Channel. It has two different channels you can use with three different clipping options but the only downside to this pedal is you cannot have the green channel on the same time as the red channel, you would have to toggle between them.
Josiah Jackson
Fuck off Sam, did u take your meds today? How's aids?
Kayden Cruz
It's pudding day at the Senior Center
Cameron Collins
What is this? I like it
Joseph Adams
That's one of at least three ways to play that chord, it was entirely reasonable for him to ask for advice.
Colton Cooper
>playan my american special Tele in middle position >switch to bridge >sound cuts in half
Help me out bros. Is this supposed to happen or does middle position just make everything sound louder? I'd post a recording but Vocaroo won't accept mp3 from my phone.
I'm using a shitty guitar hero strap until I get a real one
Nathan Jenkins
The guitar will be made with shit materials if it's cheap and won't last long. The bridge will rust, the nut will be eaten up, knobs will loosen, all sorts of little things go wrong with cheap guitars that tend not to happen to expensive ones. Not always, but I have seen it happen. 1000 is a little much, I think 600 for a guitar is the most expensive I'd go.
Luis Miller
Guthrie and yngwei said that transcribing is how they got to the level they did, so if you transcribe stuff too maybe you'll be able to inprov some good stuff.
Levi Jones
Transcribing Zappa's solos probably helped Vai a lot out, too.
Liam Stewart
Charvel San Dimas Style 1 HS HT
Jack Williams
We've had a pair of Ovations in the family since the 70s, they're still in perfect condition. I wont own any other acoustic.
Tyler Hall
Lmao like which one? His broken tele? His 11 piece cut up strat? His "les paul" with a warped and sanded neck? His classical thats breaking ?
Justin Rivera
I still think that Tele was cool also that Strat he's chopping up is wack
Jace Morgan
Redpill me on HSS strats
Gavin Jackson
What you need is vocabulary, not scales or arpeggios. What do I mean by vocabulary? Listen to the types of licks that improvisers in your genre use. Start copying some of them. Understand how they function harmonically (this is important, because it allows you to generalize). If you haven't done the first essential step of listening and transcribing then you won't be able to do shit because you will have no ideas to build off of. Most important thing is only stick to stuff you understand, otherwise you won't be able to build off of it.
Jace Adams
You're better off getting an Ibanez rg
John Parker
What's a drive pedal that gives me: > a transparent volume boost > but with cubic fucktonnes of low end
I was thinking of a RAT, but I've heard reports of muddy low end, and I haven't had the chance to try one yet.
>concious design choice >by niggers Nice cope for it being a chibson. Real gibbys are sprayed all the way around
Christopher Ortiz
K. That's about what I spent on my only guitar when I got it 6 years ago. I feel absolutely zero need for a more expensive instrument, though I might replace the neck pickup.
Nicholas Robinson
There's a fault somewhere, probably just a loose wire. Take it to a tech, I'm sure they'll only charge you $50.
Jayden Sanders
HAHAHA, OH WOW
Evan Jones
nice by my standards at least
Gabriel Johnson
EQ pedal set to boost bass and overall volume when engaged.
Zachary Jenkins
T. Sam
Cameron Myers
Sorry, user.
Evan Gray
what can I say? I only have a shitty chinese knockoff strat and a kawai shitplank literally anything would be better than them
Camden Lee
have sex
Samuel Hall
What makes you think his literal shitplanks are better?
Jack Taylor
Look mom, I replied to everyone in the thread! Am I cool now?
Juan Bell
the Kawai plank has fucking garbage intonation and is damn close to unplayable, and the tuners and electronics on my stratoclone are fucking garbage, it never stays in tune for longer than 5 minutes, the pickguard is split in half, and theres a large chunk missing from the cutaway on the left. At least that "les paul" he has is decent enough to play live.
a growing number of cheap, $300-$500 guitars are currently being made with with stainless frets, synthetic bone nuts, stainless bridges, etc. the hardware has gotten really fucking good and it's not unusual for them to come with boutique pickups like EMGs and SDs instead of mass produced stuff by an OEM supplier like artec. the main price killers are that the neck and body are each made out of 3+ pieces, and that the quality of the wood you get can be pretty random. when making guitars any hardwood is a good wood but it needs to be as consistent in density as wood can get and most importantly, aged properly.
as you move up in the price range you'll have shit like the neck and body each being hand carved from their own billets that have been aged and evaluated by master luthiers.
and for instance if you buy a factory guitar, most likely if it's cheaper it was made using wood that was rejected for use in a more prestigious instrument, or some of the pieces were cut from scraps of another billet. WMIC makes some nice shit, but say you take a korean schecter off the wall, you'll notice the body is in 2 pieces plus a figured top and the neck is in 3. manufacturers have gotten good at using multiple pieces of wood (making the neck pieces longitudinal so it helps stability and theoretically doesn't hurt sustain and making sure the "core" body from the neck to the bridge is continuous) but again it's a cost saving measure and it's not always the best wood they had on hand.
another thing i've noticed is that while the hardware on cheaper guitars works really well these days it's likely to be installed a little off kilter or have small cosmetic defects, so you'll see things like bridge saddles that don't intonate in the step pattern, have strings that don't align well with pickup pole pieces, notice your tuners aren't perfectly aligned and run into lemons that won't fucking intonate at all.
Xavier Turner
Pretty much. If high end guitars weren't any better people wouldn't be buying them.
Lincoln Fisher
People buy names. Ferrari's break down a LOT, but they're considered upper echelon.
Jacob Flores
a steel pick. beyond that just lots of treble and fresh strings.
Lincoln Clark
How would I go about recreating the sound of this? What pedals could I use? I know Anton uses an odd Vox Archtop but there's hardly info on what pedals and amp settings he used youtube.com/watch?v=TOckI4NE-nA
Brayden Campbell
That sucks, user. You could probably get a decent Mexi strat with a bit of shopping around pawn shops.
Jace Ramirez
A sam ash near me has one of these for $800, and its calling my name. Its just the kind of weird i like...
sounds like the action is bottomed out and they pointed a mic at the fretboard
David Hughes
virgin: neck and bridge pickups brad: bridge, middle, and neck pickups bad: neck pickup on a 24 fret guitar chad: bridge humbucker and piezo pickups
only people who don't know jack shit about cars would say this
ferraris have short maintenance intervals because everything in them is stretched to the mechanical limit for the sake of power output, weight, and handling. they're street legal racecars. basically any vehicle you buy in that niche, and deeper into it, will have increasingly short maintenance intervals until you get into alloy tube frame open wheel racers powered by motorcycle based V8s that would break if they crossed a pothole.
>ferraris have short maintenance intervals because everything in them is stretched to the mechanical limit for the sake of power output, weight, and handling. they're street legal racecars. basically any vehicle you buy in that niche, and deeper into it, will have increasingly short maintenance intervals until you get into alloy tube frame open wheel racers powered by motorcycle based V8s that would break if they crossed a pothole.
TLDR: They break down a lot
Alexander Johnson
But you actually get something in return and if you use them as intended instead of using them to buy groceries it's not an issue
If you're not involved in club racing or at least track days you have no reason to buy anything fancier than a camaro
Brody Torres
I wew'd
Colton Perez
>buy high gain amp >doesn't really have a clean channel just clean-ish settings you can dial in >distortion pedal is now fucking useless >fuzz still sounds good >finally understand the boost meme >don't use a boost pedal, just turn the gain and volume way up and the guitar volume knob down
why volume and wah (or 2 wahs or 2 volumes kek) at the beginning wah position is fine, volume should be before modulations, after envelope filters and distortions
Gavin Anderson
>that shitty HDR Did you deep fry your guitar?
Jeremiah Parker
Should have got a jcm900. The cleans are great. Listen to the cleans on any classic blink 182 song and thats jcm900 cleans
I like how you pointed out blink 182 rather than the fact that he's shilling for a fucking jcm900
Cooper Brown
Didnt say you had to enjoy them did i? My bad should i be shilling a fucking katana. My el34 jcm900 is great.
Grayson Ward
Fender amps for cleans. Haters gonna hate.
Luis Richardson
Lee Ranaldo would like a word with your
Julian Sanders
Not that I know who the fuck he is, but I do like the clean and overdriven sound of a Fender tube amp. I fucking hate their guitars though.
Levi Nelson
Did yours take el34s stock? I have a 4100 and an SLX that both take el34s but one says 5881s only on the back, checked the schematic for the el34 and checked the bias and everything was fine. Mine doesn't look modded aside from what I did to it.
Lincoln Thompson
Too bad fender cant make an amp with great cleans AND great distortion like marshall.
Kayden Miller
AHEM FUCK GIBSON FUCK DEAN FUCK FENDER
Nathan Cooper
hi /gg/, i currently own a fender jaguar and want to get another guitar
You can get good drive out of a Fender amp too. You'll need some help, but that's why Japan gave us the tube screamer.
Jace Perez
Lee Ranaldo is/was one of the guitarists of Sonic Youth. He extensively used Fender Super Reverb amps throughout the 80s and 90s and it was fucking crazy what he could do with them
Brody Ramirez
>Sonic Youth Was never a fan.
That's you're "alternative", also that you suck cocks, but that was a given since you play a Jaguar.
Eli Barnes
Yeah mines from 1992 and was one of the ones that came with el34s stock. After about 94 they started using 5881s instead. Maybe try looking up 5881 to el34 mods on boomer forums and look up the caps they replace some of the values get swapped out i believe. Im gonna do a retube and rebias sometime soon on mine. I currently have jj e34ls in it thats how it came when i bought it but im thinking of using regulare jj el34s. In the pre amp im not sure what i want to use. I heard mullards are great in jcm900 preamps.
Christian Ward
And the more gain it gets it sounds like shit. Fender can make decent overdriven tones but are trash for anything remotely hi gain.
Angel Sullivan
>That's you're "alternative", also that you suck cocks, but that was a given since you play a Jaguar.
what's wrong with a jaguar?
Cameron Smith
Same thing that's wrong with any Fender offset, they're for faggots.
Jaxon Long
ES guitars, and semi-hollows in general are great for feedback, and I like the form factor too Enjoy a chonky neck though
Carter Adams
Yeah, you're not going to get it to sound like a fucking threadplate Mesa-Boogie, but who the fuck needs that?
Benjamin Smith

is any fender outside of strat considered an offset?
Jaxson Johnson
Opinions on strobe tuners? Worth shelling out for over something like a Pitchblack?
Are you going to be doing your own intonation? Get a strobe tuner. If you're not, you're probably buying something you won't ever need.
Sebastian Watson
Ain't that the truth. Nothing worse than some gear nut who can't play anything besides 12 bar blues.
Leo Garcia
no, offset means the top and bottom halves (when the guitar is being played) are not aligned, they look like the top is stretched towards the neck and the bottom half is stretched away from the neck
strat is the same for both top and bottom, so not offset
Lucas Powell
good to know, i can agree with that got this guitar used when i was a teenager
love fender though
John Morris
You cant even play van halen boomer rock with any fender amp.
Brody Rivera
My tele did that until I got 11 gauge strings, now both pups are even with maybe a bit more of bridge. Before, I swear the bridge was almost dead.
Wait, fuzzy is the 250? I'm looking into getting a reissue to stack with my You're and Your and Subdecay Flying Tomato
Jacob Richardson
okay lads my $100 $230 overdrive pedal came in the mail
before i sell it on reverb, i have no talent and a very high gain amp. it's all the gain. no cleans. it has two channels - gain, and more gain. is there any reason to keep it? don't want to try it and hurt the resale by ripping open the plastic wrapping.
I was more just curious if yours said it as well. I remember reading that they switched because of availability so I wonder if they started putting it on the chassis before they actually switched over. It's wired for 34s and I'm sure it hasn't been altered. I have jjs in one of mine too, I like them.
