New track bout the terrors of insanity and fears of institutions, eep. Is it too much?
yeah im a big fan, but i think you should really think about adding vocals, maybe something like Yo La Tengo would really fit, idk thats just what im thinking
its not too much, i think the two chords get kinda boring, but you could try to spice it up with a bridge or drums or synths

Simply weird but in a good way. One thing bothering me is this hi-hat/cymbal sound that has this thin property to it - sounds extremely odd with regards to other beats on this track, would definetely replace it as it serves no other purpose than making the whole thing distracting and off. Also, it might be just me but I feel like this is less composed than I would used to think but it doesn't feel incompetant. It's just perfect between the realm of being crazy nice but also barely interesting. Sorry, just my geniuene thoughts, I think you can do much better than this next time around. Will keep an eye on you though!
The only thing that bothers me here is the monotoous quality of the vocals but the rest is pretty much like a true recorded artist work from the nowadays, them youngsters listen to. Which is great and all. But please, experiment a bit more with the singing :)

Advice to all here... learn to express emotion with a melody. Creating a landscaped theme with your entire piece is why none of these songs have a shred of dynamics in them. These are more akin to art on a wall then a song.

can't complain. you?
Yeah I was thinking of adding a bridge earlier, I just got a shit cold atm and can't really sing worth poop rn.
Am I the autistic brit? lmao
it is what it is
But what if one wants to make a piece of music feel like an artwork? I don't think we should discredit such notion based upon personal prejudice against one type of music or another. For me all music, all sound is expressionism at it's finest, in all kinds, melody or not, rhythm or not. All is valid and only personal opinion judges the value of each of these works. Whether they are good or not is left to us but I shouldn't go so hard as to determine that melody makes all the work in here. More - I think it's the one's personality, value and new additions to this world of sounds that's more important.
I can only give my opinion.
it's barely substantial though

New single and video from my upcoming album "Depths"
Very ancient yet mechanical sounding. Great tones. There's a lot of depth and space in here.
Nice start, excited to see how you flesh it out more. enjoyed your covers last night
That sounds like your opinion. People can do what they want, but, nobody wants to watch someone play golf that never learned how to swing a club though.

I've tried R&B, I've tried rap, I've tried soft rock, now I'm trying harsh metal vocals. Let me know what you think.
some of this is really nice, the mixing is good the production is pretty good and all the playing is as well. Just think the vocal melodies and the stationary feel of much of the compositions make it a little stale. Definitely have potential though.

That's that good unique, friend. I appreciate the blend of styles, good job
I can get behind the lyrics, but those vocals need some more refined fx on them homie
Fantastic noisy production, but those vocals really need work my man

Your music is fucking incredible man. Are you signed? I'm being totally serious you have tons of potential
you’re approaching something really cool and unique with this, but it feels a bit too understated rn. i think it picks up when you bring in more of those ambient synths and that faint clap around 1:00, but i think i prefer it leading in with the silence to the second time. the singing for the outro w that organ is really cool. i think as a whole it’s still a bit unrefined but you’re on the verge of creating some really great & memorable trip-hop
also, for my vocal fx, do you have any specific recommendations? i use logic, and i’m not as good as mixing w vocals compared to other things rn

thank you thankyou thank you! And no.. never talked to any labels or anything I never rly knew how to go about that
Hey thanks man! I would maybe say just dig in deep and chop up some of your singing into segments and give them some reverb, change up the eq's always, delays if you're feeling it needs it some spots, honestly just generally play around until you find something that sounds good. Keeping an entire song also with only vocal track can be a pretty difficult task for a beat that busy, I would throw on a couple other vocal tracks. Personally I find if I record a several bunch of vocal tracks in a row with different vocal tones, I have more options to choose from to add on to my lead vocals.
that’s really helpful advice, thank you!
here
Your music is absolutely fantastic. Intro especially blew me away. Are these mostly comprised of samples? Keep it up homie.
In what ways could I work on vocals? Was it an issue with mixing or EQs? Looking to grow in this and not let my pride get in the way. Thanks for the feedback
Oh no absolutely man, I don't dislike it in any way just some of the mixtures like the one from Colorado around 2:03, it's just sped up kinda funny. Overall the main thing I would say is just more aggression! For those kinds of tracks anyways, but otherwise I like the energy
Ohhhhh gotcha gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I've got a few more aggressive tracks on the album that have more of a mocking/sarcastic tone to them.
Anyways, I also gave a listen to your track as well and I really enjoyed the almost haunted sounding production. The vocals especially fit that atmosphere as well. The zombie sounding claps are pretty sweet
this is good. seriously good.

Got some good feedback on When I Hear My Voice. Looking for feedback on other stuff. Here's a couple:
soundcloud.com
I'm going to add some compression to the lyrics and bump them up a little further in the mix, maybe do some more stereo panning to get it to be more prominent in the mix too
soundcloud.com
Video sounds good for a live gig recorded with a camera! And I really dig the song, too. Lead guitar and bass need to get into it more (visually on stage). Nothing kills vibe like most of the band just standing around looking like they're bored and don't care to be there. Either that, or singer and drummer need to compensate by being madmen.
I really, really like this. There's something about the acoustic's tone (not the playing, but the guitar), that makes me think a different guitar could give the song an extra boost over the top. The art hits a little close to home, plz delet that.

Yeh primarily samples. I have a couple terabytes of obscure cds and vinyl I rip from. Also use vsts ofc
Thanks man, hopefully that was actually meant for me, heh. I got a lotta work to do on it, I wanna redo the vocals after a week or so of vocal exercises and add a bridge or somethin.
