when forming your opinion of Yea Forums, you have to keep in mind-
1. Being a “part” of Yea Forums doesn’t require anything. This means that membership only requires you to consistently come back here.
2. Yea Forums ideally shouldn’t be defined by any genre/artist, but unfortunately memes have become the norm. This is important because it signals a shift in users (which has really been occurring the last 6 years). Less diversity.
3. Because there is a growing sense of “community” here, the conversation suffers. People are more inclined to belong than they are to offer anything.

It does, it requires oneself to sacrifice one's free time by spending it browsing the catalogue and familiarising oneself with the meme culture specific to Yea Forums — because you can't be a part of Yea Forums without recognising and understanding the meme culture, otherwise you'd unwittingly fall into traps laid by true members, thereby exposing yourself as a non-member and receiving abuse accordingly — being a part of Yea Forums requires you to spend time familiarising yourself with the specific irony and ironic signposts which adorn the road travelled by most threads
