what the fuck is even selling out?

It used to make more sense in the pre internet world. Because there were actual real indie labels and not fake indie labels secretly owned by giant corporations. Selling out basically meant leaving an indie for the big boys who would water down your music and art just so you could get famouse and rich instead of having cool indie hipster punk cred
The idea of not selling out used to be very big in the underground music scene
The whole thing sort of became a contradiction. There is a famous rolling stone cover with kurt cobain wearing a t shirt that says "corporate rock magazines still suck" despite him being on one
I suppose the modern equivalent would be people calling people industry plants
How?
Bottom less pit
Reforming the band after all the creativity was used up
The Cure
R.E.M.
Dinosaur Jr
Most 80s college rock bands sold out in the 90s honestly

Pick one
green day
Yet they were still better than 95% of grunge
I think it also became a huge meme. It's all subjective anyway. If your standards are high enough then you could construe anything as selling out. It doesn't make for interesting or enjoyable music discussion because it just de-evolves into butthurt punkfags or metalheads who are upset that a band they like has a cult following that's marginally bigger than it used to.
every band you like has sold to the devil user, just read the bible and clean your room
Capitalist and MAGApilled.
what about lift to experience?
you got me there
Is lift to experience mu-core in 2019? It really should be
Kiss
It's one of those bands/albums that's well liked on Yea Forums despite not being written into Yea Forumscore canon.
Kiss never had anything authentic to sell out in the first place.
