Americans, do you you know this song?
of course people know this song are you retarded
American here
Had nothing fucking clue these clowns had a hit outside of Wonderwall
Oasis is and has always been an american band. Sorry britshits
I mean Americans. Because it seems to me a lot of Americans are less familiar with this while it's still huge all over Europe and especially Anglo countries.
Definitely, maybe ;D
Why would we know some obscure song from a one hit wonder band?
some folks don't know any OTHER song of theirs
>Had nothing fucking clue these clowns had a hit outside of Wonderwall
Well that's because you're a zoomer who doesn't remember the 90s
Even so Champagne Supernova was literally just as big as Wonderwall and still is played on the radio in like every major city. The only difference is that Wonderwall became a meme song and has reached a new audience as a result
I like Blur a hell of a lot more
youtube.com
this is their best song
no
Why do I get the feeling Brits are rigging this poll?
It's literally 11 PM here on the west coast which means it's 1 AM on the east coast
Two, I've literally never heard this song in my life
yes i am american and i have heard this song
if you have not heard this song it means you are retarded and should probably kill your self
Where in america are you from exactly? i live in dallas and never heard this imagine ripoff garbage before
Is 2019 the year that Oasis finally gets the recognition they deserve on Yea Forums?
Their first three albums should be Yea Forumscore
No. Definitely Maybe is decent, but very overrated and did not age that well. Morning Glory is good, but with some filler, better than critics at the time said it was. Be Here Now is slightly better than the critical backlash it received, but still incredibly flawed and tough to listen to (the live versions from the BHN tour are much better). The Masterplan is pretty good too, but a bit too long and some songs were obviously meant to be B-sides.
No but I know this one
youtube.com
i probably heard it on the radio growing up in pennsylvania
i live in north carolina now... you would never hear this song on any of the stations in my area
Is this Blur?
Philly loved Oasis though
youtube.com
yes but i don't like it much, oasis rock-out songs like morning glory and cigarettes & alcohol are much cooler
ya thats what im saying
heard it in philly, never hear it in charlotte nc
So it was a locally big song because Oasis were big there, but not popular anywhere else.
possibly. i hadn't really thought about it until now
The Masterplan is literally a B-sides album, you idiot.
>So it was a locally big song because Oasis were big there, but not popular anywhere else.
It was definitely on MTV a lot for a minute though
youtube.com
I can't believe Liam actually got his voice back.
36 year old American here. I had never heard this song in my life until about a year ago when filling in on keyboards for a cover band and this was on their setlist. It's a nice song I guess, but Oasis just isn't popular here at all. The only songs that ever got played on radio growing up were Wonderwall and (much less frequently) Champagne Supernova.
laying off cigs or drugs will do that
Still doesn't sound great desu
its about music orite
not about getting froan off fookin ferries
yeah but right, here yare getting thrown off fookin ferries like some scouse schlepper
fookin getting thrown off fookin ferries
u fooking cunt
yes, but the only reason i am is because i have been listening to oasis' hits a ton in the last week or so. funny coincidence. really not a fan of live forever, no clue how that's been rated their best song on RYM.
>really not a fan of live forever
It's fucking great. Uplifting, anthemic, super catchy, Noel's best solo
>liam's chief role has been reduced to filling in for festivals where they couldn't book noel and whining on twitter trying to reform oasis
based JUSTman
it's after dark and you're walking through manchester when you are approached by this
what do you do?
Liam's career is actually unJUSTed the past two years desu
In my defense, this is surprisingly a pretty good song
for the longest time when I saw the thumbnail on youtube thought this was a cover of the Buffalo Springfield song
that would be kino desu
Yes I sang it when I was in 8th grade with my friend in class after some girl asked about my favorite music
reminder that marr was fucking the gallaghers
He literally gave one of his guitars to Noel to record with on their first album
ok, that is literally proving my point, not only he just gave one of his guitars, he gave him two after he broke the first one, this was before he was even famous
Haha legend
>"bag of shite, what a waste of an afternoon"
I couldn't even tell you how Wonderwall goes.
I like Blur alright, though.
>I couldn't even tell you how Wonderwall goes.
did you grow up under a rock?
>one of his guitars to Noel
the same guitar that was owned by fuckin pete townshend before him
no one plays that shit since the year 2000 outside of bongland
>no one plays that shit since the year 2000 outside of bongland
Wasn't it the first song released in the 20th century to hit the 500 million stream mark on spotify?
Almost everyone on this site will know this song and if they say they don't they're just memeing. But it's true that a lot of average Americans would either not know Oasis at all outside of Wonderwall and if they heard Don't Look Back in Anger they might say it sounds like Imagine.
What about Champagne Supernova though? How do people always forget that one?
>The only difference is that Wonderwall became a meme song and has reached a new audience as a result
This.
Idk oasis were pretty big at my school and I'm 21
I talked to someone in class junior year who said he loved CS and was going to analyze the lyrics for our homework assignment (English class)
Portland, OR btw
I'm in a weird grey area I feel like. People my age are just young enough to have missed out on Oasis being relevant in the 90s but old enough to sort of have experienced them being somewhat popular still. Plus I think a lot of people my age (born in '93) remember them from Rock Band. I thought Some Might Say was their biggest song for a long time because it was in one of those games. But yeah, usually people would know Wonderwall, Some Might Say and Champagne Supernova and then maybe Don't Look Back in Anger. But honestly, I've met tons of people who don't know anything by them. I work with a bunch of fucking normies who only talk about sports and the weather though so I have a bad sample group.
I live in Portland too and Champagne Supernova and a couple others get played at the grocery store I work at
Too much melodyne but an okay song. Would be a classic with more natural vocals.
snort meth with him
My honest feelings?
First two albums are better than anything Radiohead ever did
Oasis should be a Yea Forumscore band but Americans are ignorant
Fite me
Yanks literally don't get music that isn't from Muttland. For example the Clash go utterly over their heads because they're so ignorant of any socio-economic problems that doesn't involve MUH SPICS MUH DEMOCRATS STEALING ME MONEY. They're truly an unintelligable community of people.
Thank you for saying this
DM, WSMG and The masterplan should be Yea Forums core
in high school I went to this high level math summer thing and there was this kid who listened to this song constantly
