Sometimes people like reading arguments from another persons perspective to gain a new viewpoint, besides not every book is trying to push some “point”, there are good informative nonfiction books as well as enjoyable story driven fiction books. You just sound illiterate

Not really, I was just raised Catholic and realized what a joke most religion is. They use it to manipulate young people that have problems telling them god will help them when it could really be an abusive parent figure, drugs, mental problems, etc... My life’s great tho, my family is loving and supportive and I have a job with the degree I got in school. Couldn’t ask for much else

debatable, I think it's because people are more passive during a movie, video game, or even listening to music as it progresses regardless of your attention, whereas the only way you can skip forward with literature is if you read the sparknotes summary of it.
