This, music is slowly getting replaced by gusic and it is definitely a good thing

But what is gusic?

The sound of six million reprobates screaming for mercy they refused to extend to others.

pop music is getting worse but not shit artists are evolving their sound and usually improving

so technically better

Studies say it's getting worse. I don't listen to any mainstream music though, so whatever.

This. All nazis must die

There is more good music being made now than at any time in history. The internet has drastically changed marketing so that mainstream pop has to be bland and mass market as possible because any audience member interested in finding good shit can find it on their own

Music is definitely getting better but you just have to look through all the bullshit which sometimes can be hard. With things like DAW and affordable equipment and platforms like Soundcloud or Youtube everyone can make music which means that there is more bad music but also more and better good music. People with unique thought processes who wouldn’t make music 30 years ago because label executives would told them to fuck off can now just release music to millions of people without anyone stoping them.

Music in general? The good is very good, but the bad has also gotten very bad
Music as in Yea Forums? Much much worse

worse
every year the best critics of the world (not only music critics) go to a meeting in new zealand where they give a score out of ten of ALL the music released in the year
last year music got a 6

art music - worse than ever, only pretentious retards compose it now, no one gives a fuck
popular music - not as good as it was in the boomer era, some good stuff gets made every once in a while
folk music - irrelevant

fact: recording is the best form of reproducing music and folk and art music are going to die out

you fucking plebs

don't blame me

You can't possibly measure if music is getting better or worse. Is it harmonic complexity that dictates quality? Rythmic complexity? Is it the ability to elicit an emotional response? What music are we talking about here? Music is such a broad thing with so little definition that you can't possibly say music is getting better or worse; it's just changing.

What is gusic. seriously

Music went to shit the second the 2010s started and poptamist brain worms infected the music press and everything became about identity politics and profit and more money started going into marketing and not music

I'd say better, but with the shitty things being shown to us.
>Industry plants
Like, holy shit. I hate these fags so much. Why copy lil pump or lil peep? These guys had/have a fanbase for their own style.
>YouTube "stars" topping charts
I hate this too. But this is probably just me getting mad. There's talented people out there musically, with instruments, their voice, producing. But you have KSI or RiceGum actually getting platinum. People with no music ability and getting help with EVERYTHING.

but besides that, it's better, there is very talented people out there, both mainstream and underground.
also. I'm not counting people who randomly record shitty songs, just doesn't seem right to judge when some can be kids and so on lol.

Well most music is crap. Most art is crap. People don’t care about music, they care about identity. It’s a visual thing and it doesn’t bother me so much except people identify with the stupidest shit

all depends on the new have a nice life album thats gonna drop soon-ish

Financial barriers aren't anywhere as steep as they used to be for artists creating some of the best, and worst music of all time. However, as a result of this, bands are no longer pragmatic and don't need to use bare-bones, low quality instruments, which means we won't see any more grimy/lo-fi movements (like industrial music or no wave). Also, genres aren't near as influential as they used to be, with no real significant counter-cultures to contra it.
