Out of all the good shit that came out in the past, why would you use that particular song as an example? I could see the appeal, but it just sounds boring compared to a lot of good shit back in the day.
Hell, if anything you could've used 50's-60's jazz or 70's funk/soul as a prime example of how good popular black music was, until record labels started killing hip-hop & shitted it all up with lame rappers & corny trap beats.
