Hi Yea Forums

Hi Yea Forums,

I will be travelling through North-America next week.
Some Canada is involved but mostly the U.S.A.
Can you recommend me any music on this roadtrip? Anything that's very "American" so I will always associate it with the views and the scenery I will be watching.

You’ll probably want to listen to a lot of hiphop, america’s most beloved native genre

Early Springsteen or John Denver and you’re set.

America is more than just hip-hop

Jim Croce, Little Feat, JJ Cale, Grateful Dead, Taj Mahal, The Band

East coast - Ramones
Midwest - Cheap Trick
Mountains - John Denver
West coast - Beach Boys

No one said it wasn’t

if you're travelling to the country-side of the country then playing this song is mandatory.

In cities it's rap, suburbs it's rock/metal, farms or open roads it's country. There's your go-to guide.

>suburbs it’s rock/metal
That might just be you and your friends, op. There’s a handful in every high school. You can admit that most people listen to hiphop, it’s anonymous here

I wouldn't know, I live in the city.

Thanks for the artist - album recommendations.
Will definitely add those to my playlist

Bruce Springsteen
call him dadrock all you want, but he's undeniably American

If you wanted 1 album each from them, it'd probably be
>Ramomes - Rocket To Russia
>Cheap Trick - Cheap Trick
>John Denver - Poems, Prayers, and Promises
>Beach Boys - Greatest Hits
I would say Pet Sounds or Smile or w/e, but you really just need a compilation of their early surf stuff.

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne
Beck - Sea Change
The Guess Who - Canned Wheat (Canadian)
Smith Westerns - Dye it Blonde
Hope Sandoval & the Warm Intentions - Through the Devil Softly (good for night driving)

this

This isn't the late 90s. There is not even any rap to listen to in the last 10 years. Are they still bumping MBDTF?

Kesha - Gold Trans Am

is Kesha that american?

Shes from Tennessee so yes shes american, and that song is literally about her driving around in a muscle car looking for "skynryd t-shirt type" dudes to bone

Grateful Dead - American Beauty

John McLean - American Pie
Lynnrd Skynnrd - Free Bird
The Airborne Toxic Event - Gasoline
The White Buffalo - Wish it Was True
Blaze Foley - Clay Pigeons
Joe Pug - Hymn 101
Mandolin Orange - Cavalry
Bruce Springsteen - Thunder Road
The Gaslight Anthem - Mae (or National Anthem)

Thank you!
I bet those work wonders for that "american" feel

considering that not even available in my country im guessing its alright for america
i will listen to it

listen to john denver

Willie Nelson

jim croce

Townes Van Zandt - s/t and Live at the Old Quarter
Sparklehorse - Vivadizxiesubmarinetransmissionplot

with the windows down

The Allman Brothers

Jesus Christ, how sad. As someone who has driven through and lived in North America for most of my life, this is so sad. There is nothing worth seeing. There's entire states (US and Mexico) and provinces that have absolutely nothing of value and still take hours to cross.

Pretty sure that Gorillaz' The Fall was literally made during a US road trip, so try that
