You see, a real metal fan would love female vocals because they contrast the growly ferocty of the male singer. This trope (one of my favorites btw) would be called Beauty and the Beast, and it was pioneered by great bands such as Anathema and My Dying Bride. Intellectuals (such as myself) are able to appreciate such art because it transcends the biases and predispositions of plebian metalheads. Sometimes when I listen to songs such as "My Agony My Ecstasy" I begin to cry, and I need a moment to sit back and contemplate the duality of life, the harsh contrast between beauty and brutality.

There are plenty of thrash bands I like both extraneous to and more than the Big 4, honestly. I'm aware that they're all pretty influential, but I dont tend to enjoy music more simply because it's influential. That being said, rust in peace is super influential and my favourite B4 album by a big margin, as well as one of my favourite thrash records.

Nonetheless a bunch of bands which come to mind are kreator, overkill, coroner, artillery, deathrow, voivod, sadus, annihilator, demolition hammer, hellwitch, sodom, obliveon, aspid, razor, dark angel, exodus, probably a bunch more that i cant remember

Really enjoying this new Troll album, lads. Actually has distinct riffs, subtle harmonisation and some speedy melodies, passionate but not overly generic vocals - some interesting variation on the vocal melody. A bit more epic and traditionally styled than the prevailing funereal, gloomy, trudging dirge of modern doom, which I'm thankful as fuck for

this is way more thrashy than either of those bands but still pretty good; nothing special but very solid death/thrash

What's with the Fanisk hate? All their records are great. Noontide is a fantastic NSBM record, and Insularum is arguably the most unique BM album of the decade.

The actual black metal is good but there's too much filler ambient.
