I don't get it

I don't get it
>"im sad"
>"i fuck hoes"
>"i do drugs because i'm cool but i'm a loser"
what's the appeal?

rap music isn't really for people who never leave their house. you'd never understand it.

edgy 16 yr old tumblr girls.
also he kinda predicted his own death in that music video where he burns.
hes the Kurt Cobain of the zoomer and trap generation. simple repetitive beats and 808 Kicks.

Attached: IMG_1090.jpg (1280x960, 280K)

people like to act like he was kurt cobain, sad and lonely, but the reality is he was more like blink 182

some sad songs and melancholy but still made sex references/jokes

>WHIP IT LIKE A NASCAR

how to explain it... he's emo

I don’t like his music, but lil peep was/is the only white guy to do the emo rap thing with sincerity. Bones, suicide boys, ghostemane, all that shit is completely kooky and dishonest, nothing more than an image with no musical value to back it up. Peep mixed influences of blink 182 songwriting and singing, jangle pop in the vein of the smiths, with a little bit of hip hop esq beats thrown in. His music still sucks, but he did the genre better than anyone else. Much respect for the guy

he waz the next kobain and pac rolled into 1... rip lil peep xo fuckin legend :(

>implying he did anything other than vocals
lmao

Bones is awesome and not even really emo rap

>with sincerity
"Sincerity" in rap music is an absolute fucking meme. No rappers are sincere, it's complete theatrics that white middle-class rubes fall for because they're so enamoured by the image of it. If you actually think any rappers are "real" you have the IQ of a redneck that gets passionate about WWE.

lmao. no way you really believe what you wrote, you're just trolling.

Nah, peep sung about his life and delivered his lyrics honestly. He was a drug addict who got way too high, way too often, hardly leaving his house. He never tried to fabricate a rapper demeanor like those other artists that I mentioned

Bones fucking blows myman

Faux depression is in rn

some people are sad, fuck hoes, and do drugs, and therefore like listening. is that hard to understand? smoking a listening to peep is a great way to chill after a long day.

yeah haha just have sex

I mean.. if you're trying to understand songs about having sex then that is good advice

Most likley appeals to "broken" individuals who take themselves too seriously. Also appeals to the trend of being fake depressed for attention.
I respect peep for doing his thing. Nothing I listen to.

>I know you remember that
>Shawty I remember that
>You was fucking with me way before I even wrote raps

Dudeee lmao

Because depression has become a fashion statement and kids confuse brief moments of sadness and disillusionment with genuine depression. Lil Peep was, in his own brothers words, just playing a character.

He was pretty goofy. youtu.be/BD2ypP3Xwq8
When you listen to his older stuff you get a different perspective on all of it

I don't get it either. His songs are catchy which is 80% of the appeal

t. lil peeps jealous brother

>depression as a fashion statement and image
>artists playing a character
You’re right, look at Thom Yorke, Isaac Brock, Elliott Smith etc

His catchy delivery, the way he writes his lyrics, the imagery, metaphors and emotions and topics he touches on. There is a self destructive element in his songs, constant references to dying, suicide, and betrayal in love etc which gives it that edge but might have hinted at something in him

Yeah, bro. The guys on the radio are actually out there dealing drugs and shooting people.

Also the Undertaker is actually undead and Santa is real.

He was literally an upper-middle class well to do party boy that took up rapping.
>He never tried to fabricate a rapper demeanor like those other artists that I mentioned
No I don't think you understand. The whole "abloo bloo bloo I'm so depressed and introverted and want to kill myself" thing was his persona.

No one who is actually that depressed writes such melodramatic, contrived, self-pitying lyrics. It's complete theatre to pander to depressed teenagers. There might have been some elements of truth to it, but that doesn't mean it isn't playing a role. Likewise 50 Cent actually did get shot, that doesn't mean most of his lyrics aren't largely fiction.

agreed

is that pewdiepie?

So fans of HANL, Swans, DG, Daughters, etc are primarily zoomers (at least on Yea Forums).

Yea Forums users are primarily zoomers so yes

Peep is a legend
If you don’t get it you’re old, end of story

Drill is pretty fucking sincere

death grips is most certainly a zoomer band and this shouldn't be news to anyone

>thinks all music is on the radio
jesus christ, go outside or something for once i'm begging you

Goth boiiii

It's not, all of those ultra "hood" rap subgenres are about as sincere as Slipknot. You're just exactly the kind of rube that keeps the industry going.

Did I say it is? No. The radio is just a great example for the phoniness of hip-hop because these rich artists living in wealthy communities in LA are the most extreme example you can get of the actual life of the artist being completely different to the content of their lyrics.

It's no different in more obscure hip-hop. If they were actually doing the shit they portray in their lyrics they would be in prison for a very long time. And quite few rappers have done any time in prison at all.

I'm actually shocked I need to explain to you people that rap lyrics are fiction. Are you literally children? I wonder if country music fans would get this upset if I told them Johnny Cash lyrics are fictional as well.
