But yeah, I liked Loveless at the time too. Still do, I just acknowledge its no masterpiece.

I'll be honest, this meme is from back when Yea Forums actually had good taste. It's not like anything else. There's a certain type of music ideal for Yea Forums that feels really good at 2 or 3am and this is it for sure. But it's not a genre, it's an experience. I have memories of one of these songs that took me on an emotional journey. This is what Yea Forums used to be about, finding absolute gems, but it's not anymore, now it's about beeing cooler than everyone else. Sad

I find gems on Yea Forums all the time. They're in the sea of the same 200 albums regurgitated over and over again, but they're there. I recently found what has already become my #2 album less than a month ago.

King of Limbs mystified me a lot more than Kid A ever did, that album falls apart after 3 seconds... Idioteque and How to Disappear are the only redeeming qualities there. King of Limbs doesn't reach those peaks but at least feels like an actual album.

Good to hear man. That was the awe of Yea Forums for me at first and my top 5 albums are still mostly things I discovered here. I got sick of the shitposting and haven't been here in a while. I guess there's really no other place to find obscure good music.

I just kind of embraced the shitposting. It's more of a place to hang out and laugh at joke threads, but sometimes you find a really fucking good album. I personally promote albums I think are good and deserve more recognition, other people do the same sometimes and that's where the gems come from.
