Actually “here comes your man” is the only good one “monkey gone to heaven” and “gouge away” are decent but this band is fucking overrated. “Dead” is really bad.

Agree, Nirvana has better drumming by far, the drummer of the pixies is terrible. Nirvana has better lyrics better songs and better screaming.

Tame is the best song and you're a dummy.

Bullshit, the voice and lyrics of both are way different. Pixies aren't anywhere as depressive as Nirvana. This shouldn't even be up for debate, they're not alike at all besides both being from the 90s. Fuck outta here.

The Pixies are mostly remembered for their 80s work and both bands are alt rock. I'm sure you've heard about Smells Like Teen Spirit being influenced by them and I didn't say the Pixies sound exactly the same as Nirvana, arguably they sound a lot closer to Wipers than anything else. Nirvana are still a better band than the Pixies though. (And Wipers are better than Nirvana)

Nah man, Pixies are far better. Way more catchier riffs, way more variety while still maintaining the "Pixies" style, Black Francis was a way better vocalist and frontman, and Kim Deal added to the appeal too.
I mean, Kurt sounds great on Unplugged but I still think Black Frances is way ahead of him, and I feel like Pixies as a whole is far better than Nirvana.
Sure, Pixies obviously influeced Nirvana, but they sound way different. Different styles, different vocals, different lyrics. Way different.

imo early solo Frank Black/Black Francis is better than anything the Pixies did, and better than Nirvana too.

I know I'm in the minority on this but I like all their other albums sans Head Carrier more. Still love Surfer Rosa though.

Bluefinger blew me away when I first heard it. Such a good album. Threshold Apprehension gets me pumped every time.

Debaser and Tame are their best songs and Surfer Rosa their best overall album.

pixies are fucking amazing. it's rare to find bands with so much soul that they can sing off key and it sounds great

Surfer Rosa is definitely their best, but Doolittle is still one of the greatest albums ever made. Pixies were just so great.

Kurt sounds like a whiny kid when he yells. He sounds good when he adds on the accent in Francis Farmer but that’s about it.

Bossonova has some weak songs unfortunately, but I really like that they embrace their surf rock sound. Velouria, Ana, All Over the World and Havalina are some of their very best.

I just treat them like interludes to be honest. None of the weaker songs outstay their welcome.
