◢ ◤ Avicii 1 year death anniversary

Let's stop pretending we enjoy the edgy hipster music we claim to enjoy on Yea Forums and take a moment to actually appreciate a genuinely legendary artist who tragically took his own life exactly 1 year ago. Tim Bergling was the Beethoven of our time, Avicii's melodies filled halls the world over with the sound of collective euphoria and did away with the false snobbish notion that music of great artistic value cannot be computer-generated or extremely popular. He will forever be immortal through the legacy he left behind. That is something to remember, Yea Forums.

Not a big loss for music.

This

Actually, a really massive lost for big music, Avicii was an indispensable genius, one of a kind, not many can invoke an atmosphere of spiritual ecstasy with their melodies like Tim did on a consistent basis. Really, you need to let go of your snobbish bias.

He chased hedonism to the ultimate destination, and he found an unbearable void.

Or maybe I just came up with that

there's bigger influences in electronic

I love Aphex Twin. He's my better than Avicii.

I don't even like him but this lol

This.

i like a lot of his songs and remixes

If you rather listen to Aphex over some Avicii's sweet tunes, then you are just a contrarian, there is nothing to add

Nights is really good, i don't feel the same about his other songs. Swedish House Mafia is still the best big room act.

Not sure about his influence but he was and still definitely is one of the biggest electronic music artists ever, RIP.

this

There is something to be said for the entire process of putting on, listening to and collecting vinyl. The hiss kinda serves to remind that what you are watching is a recording and not 'the real thing' which has a unique charm akin to old crt tv's in my opinion.
If you're a zoomer and you're still using vinyl you should be culled though.

He just made average normie-tier electronic pop music

eh, who cares?

people collect stamps

I love how Alan Walker subconsciously replaced this guy in my mind. But that's how electronic music these days, easily replaceable person.

This desu. Let’s stop pretending he did anything besides make really commercial EDM bangers. Sad for his loved ones, but I did not know him personally and never cared much for his music. And I think a lot of people are only singing his praises since he’s now post-mordem.

I think he was pretty important for zoomer normie music culture, which is, let's be honest here, the largest music community.

>implying arab music doesn't outnumber 'normie first world music' ok, pops.

I mean I feel bad for him as a fellow human being, and F and all, but let's not pretend his music wasn't completely shit.

Pathetic

I'll admit, he wrote some fucking great melodies. Unfortunately, his music was over-produced commercial ''EDM'' garbage.
Although some of his older songs aren't too bad.

>SHM is still the best big room act
Fact.

>EDM that has more than zero emotion
>genius!

Never listened to him, but it was still pretty shocking to hear the news.
I live in a big student area in Sweden and I remember hearing Levels start to play at max volume from a nearby party moments after reading the news.

he is just another catchy pop producer whereas Avicii's sound was very influential for edm in 2010-2011

let's not pretend you have actually listened to his music
