If norwegian black metal is shitty, objectionable, and offensive sounding they have achieved their goal. The entire idea was to ruin the album with vocals that sounded like a lesser demon having an orgasm.

A lot of it got so shitty throughout and past the 90s because they stumbled upon something that sounded objectively good that was almost instantly copied and commercialized into ambient and lo-fi black metal.
