This group consists of like 8 dudes and yet 95% of the songs are written by the singer alone, what a waste, wouldn't the band benefit if everyone wrote songs? Is this narcissism?
King Gizzard
This group consists of like 50 people but everything's written by some dead dude who wasn't even part of their band. Wouldn't the band benefit if everyone wrote songs? Is this narcissism?
so many bands do this
But look at him, he's so young! What does he know about music? Nothing!
That orchestra is playing other peoples music, they're not a band that writes stuff, you probably thought you were clever but your post just doesn't hold any water and you're retarded.
The point still stands, you can play in a group and not write anything so what is strange about one person writing for a group of 8
Because having more people contribute will make the music more diverse and rich, that's the entire point of a band, all the members collaborate and put their effort into it, if you want to be a narcissist wanker then just form a one man solo group like Tame Impala.
Mozart was writing stuff from the age of 5
They probably all do contribute by writing their own lead guitar parts/bass parts/drum parts while he just contributes the lyrics and chords
its unlikely he writes every part
just for some reason, the group hasn't been credited for their parts due to tradition of le songwriter and le royalties. not everyone does it that way. Janes addiction didn't. smashing pumpkins did iirc. id never be in a band where I wasn't credited as author for my parts - unless it toured dope places and paid lol ;) . naw even then fuck it. theres an interview with the dude from filter talking about being a hired gun for reznor and disliking it - so he wrote a song and made a band. worth looking up. just people keeping each other down to get a slice. oh well.
definitely not ALL DAY.

songwriting credits work in mysterious ways. I'm sure Stu doesn't write literally every single thing all by himself, but he definitely pulls more weight than the rest of the band when it comes to writing and production, so he usually gets the sole credit. This is the band that credited their drummer with doing, I quote, "nothing" on the liner notes on one of the albums, I don't think they're that bothered about the whole thing.
Besides, most Gizzard's compositions are actually pretty simple. They could cut down the band by half if they really wanted to, and their studio albums wouldn't change much. It's all about how those simple parts work in relation with one another, especially in a live setting.
That's because Eric often doesn't even play kick drum, cause he sucks. He gets one of the biggest cuts though, since he owns Flightless records
It will also muddy the voice of the band
>Because having more people contribute will make the music more diverse and rich
It could also be a muddle of various influences and ideas instead of one focused vision. Dave really wants to add a sax solo in the next song but it doesn't mean that it would actually contribute to the band's music.
that soiboi literally gets a free ride
it kinda makes me wish they ditch his label
Eric is easily the lesser of the two drummers, but to say that he's useless is bullshit. He wouldn't need to sweat his ass off behind a drumkit if he could have just taken his paycheck and chill with Galea.
i'm 100% sure a drummer wrote this post
I never said he's useless, I like him a lot. Just saying he's easily the least important member of King Gizz musically
I'm pretty sure they just do jam sessions and piece together tracks from that
