That's where not paying close attention to the lyrics at first comes in handy because you just know if you like the music and vocal performance(s), then when you listen more intently, including the lyrics, it's too late because you already like it (or I'm assuming you do because you're listening to it again).
And if they're the political opinions I think you mean, just listen to some music not from the last 7 years or so -- even fewer if you just don't want Trump references.
