Pop is forever corporate. Billie is fucking trash kid. While an edgy pop scene is enticing, it's best left to underground acts, to the people, who know true sorrow and not the offspring of wealthy. Her entire image is fabricated. The fact that you even mention Anton and Billie is such manner is offensive to my character. Hmm they're not bad, you're right. But what makes BJM so great is the sorta childlike sincerity to the whole thing. The youthful passions are high in those early records, especially the ones in 96. There's almost a sorta naïveté or innocence to the sound. Anton is now an older man, a haggard man who simply can't and shouldn't try to go back to that place. It wouldn't do him any good, it will only allow the youth in its arms. I don't believe old people can make music for younger people, and the youth are the future.
