i really, really like this album
I really, really like this album
Ur a Nazi
thats cool user :)
i like that album too
me too, best black metal album
>inb4 tourist
Tourist
Dunkelheit is best song.
I guarantee I've heard more black metal albums than you
it is
i've listened to over 1000 black metal albums and eps and it's still the best
it's definitely not nostalgia
based, Storm of the Light's Bane is another 10/10 black metal album
jesu tod and rundgang and gebrechlichkeit are better
OP here to reiterate that i really really like Filosofem.
a lot.
r u a retard
i mean i guess he's not wrong but i don't see what that has to do with filosofem, none of the lyrics are political to my knowledge
Dunkleheit one of the best opening tracks to an album ever
i legitimately think every other track is better
La Sanie Des Siècles is better.
Nice image.
The ambient track could have been 25% shorter, and there really is no point of having the same track twice. Other than that, it's solid. I'm more of a Hvis Lyset Tar Oss guy myself.
>The ambient track could have been 25% shorter
no, it couldn't've
>there really is no point of having the same track twice
it's not the same track...
Sanie is extremely overrated, Folkfuck, Ballade Cuntre, and L'Ordure are all better.
this is better
it's not
somebody post the screencap of the guy who got blocked by varg for calling him a boardgame salesmen and incel murderer
Not quite, but very close. First track is god-tier though
second half of the album is better
t. OP
No way, first track is everything
i disagree
Inn I Slottet Fra Droemmen and Tomhet are much much better
it is
the ambient track is way better
you *might* be right about that.
i've never listened to tomhet around a fireplace in the woods with the boys
i have listened to rundgang um die transzendentale saule de singularitat under those conditions.
objectively speaking, tomhet is far less minimalist than rundgang. however the minimalism and length of rundgang work in it's favour to create a far more trance-inducing end result.
all depends on what youre looking for in your music i guess
i still assert that Filosofem is the better album despite owning a Hvis Lyset Tar Oss shirt
Listening to burzum doesn't make you a nazi, the music is mostly about the pillaging and raping of scandanavian natives by invading Christians which itself is pretty political but the lyrics are vague enough so that you can enjoy the music and its core themes without endorsing its political narrative
I'm still a black metal tourist, but I really liked the first four Burzum albums. I heard everything he released during prison and post prison was trash. Is that true or are there any gems there?
I love Burzum / Aske, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and Filosofem, but Det Som Engang Var has never clicked with me. What am I missing?
your missing out on a 10/10 metal album
The first 15 minutes of Rundgang are fine and gradually build up synth layers to maintain interest, but after that point it has zero development. Doesn't warrant the length imo
this is best
Are the really people out there who refuse to listen to Burzum just because Varg is kinda insane?
he's not insane
he kinda is tho, he's a murderer
>he's a murderer
So? MJ was a child molesting piece of shit but people still idolise the fucker
yes.
hating christians for raping and pillaging isn't exactly a controversial issue for nonreligious people. I'm a leftist and I definitely don't consider the topic a big political issue on either end of the spectrum, even if Varg himself is a fucking nazbol.
Can someone tell me what is so great about this album? I mean, the guitar sound like shit, the drums are lame and the lyrics are mediocre at best. You really feel that this album has been made by an untalented, solo artist. This has nothing to do with metal or music...
Maybe you're just not a fan of black metal?
>caring about lyrics in black metal
cringe
Personally a big part of the appeal for me is the production style. The guitar tone is insanely fuzzy and particularly in tracks like Jesu Dod and Beholding the Daughters the guitar lines all blur together into a satisfying wall of sound.
That plus the repetitive song structures give the whole album a kind of meditative, hypnotic quality similar to some ambient and drone music.
Taste, it's his best album next to Fallen
You watch his Youtube videos don't you?
>repeatedly stabs a man
>blames a lamp
I really like Varg's politics. His music is also very good.
>inb4 he's a murderer
He killed Euronynous in self defense.
Now that you mention it, Fallen does sound similar to Det Som Engang Var. Must be why I hate that album too.
