Ah yes, the lawsuit era. My father had one of those Aria Pro-II Martin "copies" that were better than what Martin shat out at the time. It had enough exotic woods in it to make greenpeace cry.
Well those are two different guitars now arent they?
Aaron Jones
>Only 3 piece neck
Brody James
sure
Alexander Wilson
Well kind of. Its the only the pickups that are different so I just don't know if its worth it or better off buying something that is totally different in every regard other than pickups
Austin Myers
too many strings
Elijah Butler
That depends on how rich you are, probably.
Carson Hall
Does it matter if I play a song with a slightly different strumming pattern?
Carter Jenkins
If you change even one strum, Sammy will sneak into your house at night and give you AIDS.
Bentley Young
It's called 'interpretation'. Try it out. Stop being a tab zombie.
Lincoln Robinson
Can any of you here prove that you can play on time to a basic 4/4 drum track at, say, 120 bpm? youtu.be/HTmKgbT3PFA
>trying to get serious about improving my technique so I can develop some speed, day 3 >day 1 went well >last two days have had to stop early because of tingling/numbness
I know better than to push through that, I've hurt myself before. I keep watching technique videos to make sure I'm doing everything right, and it all looks good.
>mfw I realize it's probably the result of nerve damage due to a work accident a decade ago and I may never get around it
hold your hands in front of yourself palm up. that is how you want your wrists. place the guitar neck in your hand and try not to fuck with how your wrist is positioned. focus on being relaxed at all times and finding the best position for each note or chord. watching videos won't be as good as that.
if you need better picking hand technique just float your hand and stop anchoring.
Charles Smith
What are the Chinese knock off sutes I hear about? I can’t find any fake Les Pauls on aliexpress
Isaac Hernandez
I'm not doing your work for you
Lincoln Gray
ditto, $40 used occasionally.
Maybe Mooer or some chinese whatever on ebay. There's a Kikko that looks like it's copying the ditto.
Jason Edwards
ammoon nano looper, $35 new
Jaxson Wright
i checked yesterday after work and i'm HIV-free
Owen Gomez
HOW TO ATTACH A REGULAR HUMBUCKER TO AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR'S SOUNDHOLE HELP MEEEEEEEE
just screwing a piece of wood on the guitar's top (and screwing the pickup on them) would damage the guitar top and make it fragile and prone to cracking
i thought of gluing two thin woodblocks on the inside of the guitar and screwing the pickup on the top of them
there's these adapters that grab the soundhole that you can buy but i can't find them on the internet anymore
So you can get your whole foot on it. But they make mini wahs now.
James Roberts
Donner or Behringer pedals? Behringers are $25 ea and Donners are like $40-$50 ea.
Samuel Taylor
Behringer
Parker Harris
You get what you pay for...
Jeremiah Carter
guys how do you into pedals? i need to pick some up and the local Dr Guitar only has a testing area for Boss pedals, is it really just as easy as "hey man can i test all of them in the glass case"?
Robert Turner
Lmfao. No. Now give me a song to hear. Im listening to shes a bad mama jama currently
Dominic Cruz
Yes. Do research ahead of time for what you are looking for so you aren't wasting too much time, and then just test them out.
Christian Jenkins
what would "do research" look like?
Carter Robinson
Well, have in mind what type of effect you are looking for, and research the demos on youtube to get a feel of their general sound, so you can narrow down your search IRL
Ryder Hill
Do you know what reviews are? How about google? Better yet youtube?
William Jones
The only bad thing about Behringer is their plastic housings. If you're a bedroom warrior (let's be honest, most people here are), they will be fine. As far as internals, most pedal companies buy their internals from Behringer anyway.
Nathaniel Peterson
Meat is Murder by The Smiths
John Rodriguez
>If you're a bedroom warrior I'm not. So these people can take my advice: you get what you pay for. Behringer sell cheaply-made clones of actual, better pedals. Just save your $$ and get the real deal.
>most pedal companies buy their internals from Behringer anyway. source?
Austin Bennett
not true, all pedals under $100 are the same quality
Camden Parker
No
Xavier Jones
apologies lmao, just looking for advice. it feels redundant to google every single peddle and every single variant of them for hours at a time instead of just testing them in person, and besides that i don't know the extent of what i can purchase. be less crass right, that makes more sense, thanks for that
Elijah Wright
any tips to memorize my bass fretboard better? I got the basic techniques down and I want to start learning songs, but I don't want to keep relying on tabs.
Elijah Foster
alright got some Dunlop 65 lemon oil Guess I'll just jump right in then
Luis Diaz
Fuck off, Boss shill.
Jace Walker
taste it
Juan Brooks
Boss is alright, prefer EHX, Zvex and DBA over them though.
Angel Powell
Just don't get a behringer distortion pedal. Those are actually terrible.
Ayden Barnes
I would say just focus on the first 5 frets of the E and A string first. Once you've memorized that, and understand scales, then it should start to just click what the other frets are beyond those 10 frets.
Sorry, I've tried many B pedals and they have terrible output, high noise floor and literally crack from getting stomped on. I would recommend using IRL experience instead of relying on hearsay and vagueness from basement dweller on youtube
Aaron Scott
The rest are fine but the distortion pedals suck. I know that first-hand.
Nathaniel Morgan
what's with the behringer shilling?
Cameron Hill
tempting. it does smell nice
Luis Sullivan
Also, not to mention, scope out other players boards when you play out. I almost never EVER see Bs in the wild, being used be actual gigging guitarists. Only at pawn shops, and I guess your bedroom maybe?
Grayson Myers
You do realize that guy is the founder of his own successful effects pedals company?
Jose James
probably just a poorfag
Evan Gray
You do realize those pedal builders are basementdwellers?
Asher Scott
This is a proud poorfag thread.
We Squier. We Epiphone. We Behringer. Gear snobs to the back.
.... yes? Did you even listen to his voice and demeanor? I was waiting for his mom to come over and give him a plate of sandwiches for himself and the cameraman.
Anyways, you can kid yourself if you want. You can believe a rando youtube video where you don't know the agenda of the youtuber as well as the actual condition of the pedals (if they've been modded or there was post production on the youtube video itself).
OR you can actually go try these pedals and use them IRL application. You can go look at the pedalboards of bandmates and the other bands your band plays with. I've done this later, and Behringer is garbage.
But hey, enjoy them. If they sound good to you, well, I guess ignorance is bliss. I'm glad you like them user.
James Cook
Are you trying to tell me the head of JHS has a hidden agenda of selling effects pedals for a different competing company?
Landon Peterson
Is the Katana the most popular amp among soibois or what?
Getting intimately attached to your guitar as if it were a good friend is one of the most fun parts of playing guitar.
Easton Ortiz
Soure, you can like your guitar but giving it a name is so reddit
Ethan Myers
B.B King and Willie Nelson were doing it decades before reddit was invented.
Nicholas Taylor
Doesn't change the fact that it's a reddit attitude
Brandon Martinez
People have been naming their stuff since the beginning of time. Stop being a meta faggot.
Easton Stewart
At this point you're just using "reddit" the same way middle-schoolers use "gay".
Sebastian Lewis
>thing I dont personally do i...it's r-r-r-reddit guys
Hudson Torres
You sound like a nigger retard
Ayden Jones
How do these people that think Reddit is so bad, know so much about Reddit?
Anthony Lee
Yea Forums used to feud with reddit before raids were banned
Ryan Cruz
I know, I was around. But I think they've spent more time there than they care to say.
Leo Martinez
The reddit beef is relatively new and is long predated by the raid ban. Reddit was never really even on Yea Forums's radar until Yea Forums started to get a kind of weird voyeuristic following on reddit that resulted in lots of redditors coming to Yea Forums and being widely considered to be massive faggots with shit memes. A large part of it is also early-mid 2010's paranoia about "stealing our memes" which Yea Forums used to feel very strongly about.
Ryan Ramirez
Its why some memes are unusable now. Rage comics was a Yea Forums thing i was there.
Ace Frehley. The Gibson Ace Frehley Signature model is pretty popular and known. If gibson did another run of them, they might get out of their financial breakup.
Justin Hall
yea i don't use a cheese grater for a pic so i'm out
what the hell did this become, /bedroom selfies general/?
any that has a bomb in it
Wyatt Butler
>that's cool but i can tell you don't play/practice daily and have no intentions of being in a touring band Been playing for 15 years actually and was a music major. But, nope have no intentions of every doing anything with a band or touring. Why give up a cushion government job for that retarded life?
lol it's a schecter 006. pretty sure they discontinued it. I popped a nazgul in the bridge and currently have the stock Duncan design SC in the neck. Double tracking them is surprisingly pleasant on cleans.
Alexander Rogers
Suhr aldrich. Also my boy marty friedman killed it with j rock in the last vid i posted.
Tyler Lee
wtf why would anyone not use them?
Ayden Hall
Heres the thing: Their clones of more expensive analog pedals are 1:1, because everyone buys their analog components from them anyway. Their clones of digital pedals are iffy. Try before you buy. Lastly, their construction is a little cheap. Your pedal may sound the same but it's in a plastic housing that won't last more than a year or so.
Jonathan Gray
006s are cool. I've wanted one for a while. I had an 004 once. I regret selling it now.
Tyler Hernandez
couldnt you make your own case? that’d be pretty dope, actualy i might do that
Nathan Jackson
Plastic. Even though boss pedals aren't super boutique or unique or anything, at least the metal shell holds up.
If I put any of the songs on rocksmiths tracklisting on like Spotify, would you be able to play along
Jonathan Howard
One's I've played one thousand times like Don't Look Back in Anger, All Right Now, etc. But for the most part I usually just use it as a game/tab reader.
Rocksmith to Tab is also cool too. Helped me get the intro to Cliffs of Dover down.
I like how uncommon they are. they look really goofy in pictures but I think they have some personality. I've had mine for 12 years so I guess I'm pretty acclimated to it. I will say that the stock pickups are hot trash but it plays great and it's comfy as fuck. I checked and the used ones are like $200 which is a fucking steal if you're into it.
glass slide is too harsh on itself, ive had 3 and they all broke
what do
Juan Turner
Ceramic slide.
Jose Wright
I heard about using the effects loop on a tube amp as a clean channel using a pedal for a pre-amp, and possibly having some weird A/B switch fuckery to switch between that and amp distortion instead of a distortion pedal in front of the amp.
I tried it but then looked and my guitar was plugged into "send". It still made a sound, but can that fuck something up?
Jacob Campbell
i buy my behringer shit from pawn shops so it's already been stepped on and it works fine
