Times change. You'd be complaining like a faggot if rock was still made by blacks too.

Maybe rockists should git gud then.

black people smoke the most pot. this is also why White artists are predominantly hippies.

this

People my age and younger have absolutley no taste.
>t. Jaded 22 year old with normie friends that listen to garbage rap

low barrier of entry for artists

have segs

that's a stereotype you inconsiderate cracker. bet you love cheese

(((Times change))) means that one genre takes over 95% of a hundred billion dollar industry?

Oh right, the people running the record industry care what music is good, not at all about selling the degradation of society or pushing an agenda, which is why popular music is objectively shit.

Rock used to be that one genre and now it's hip hop. It's not the 70s anymore grampa

Easy to produce, easy to market.
Popular music stopped being "popular" years ago, should be renamed marketed music.
Not saying that every instance of rap is a soulless mass produced industrial product, but those aren't marketed that hard.

Ok lol

>P-people dont really like it!

It's mainstream for a reason dumb kid

>something being popular or mainstream means its objectively good

People who listen to mainstream music don’t make a deliberate choice about what they hear. Kys.

>its not the 70s anymore grampa!!!
>literally all of Yea Forums is albums 20+ years old because popular music was objectively good back then.

Good Is subjective

People like what they like

You can push an artist AND you can market a band but what you can't do Is creating an entire genre of music and make it popular

It grows popular because the people makes it that way

You're like 15 yo

a tiny fraction of those albums were billboard albums

The people make *it* “that way” after a trillion dollar entertainment industry marketing collossus machine beats them over the head with it enough through popular tv shows, movies, media, and fake news like how rap is protected from #metoo and feminists.

If the mainstream media really cared about things like #metoo and now their cash cows they’d stop protecting rap from the feminist mafia like everyone else has to go through who doesn’t have the protection of the rigged media.

Same arguments always

Lets say it's both things. Usa government can't push polka music if their citizens dont like it or they dont Connect with the music, so there's an organic reason to why HH Is popular accross the country

It doesn't change anyways what i said first. People grew tired of old waves. They looking for something new. In 20 years they Will look for something else too

First of all that's not even true, modern music is heavily discussed here. A prime example would be the persistent AOTY threads

Second of all, this:
Please don't forget to take your meds today! :)

Rap / Hip Hop is the McDonalds of the music industry.

Art imitates life.

People these days are obsessed with sex, drugs, violence and most importantly money. People these days are also basically chained to computers and contemporary popular culture in all forms is basically just ideas from the 20th century chopped and mixed into something "new". Hip-hop is the natural musical expression of this.

Most people don't think about music critically or even know how to start seriously analysing what they hear, that's not important to anyone but music nerds. What people want is a soundtrack to their inner life, which is dominated by anxieties and fantasies relating to sex, drugs, violence and money. Rock people can be just as guilty of this too.

Degeneracy. Call me a hypocrite for posting on Yea Forums, music is nothing but for making profits now.

*tips at your witty remark*

90-99 get please

I thought this meme was dead

roll

Outside of a small window in the late 60s early 70s pop music has always been critically panned and was for the most part shit, this is nothing new

Because it's not about the music. it's about the drama that occurs from the culture surrounding the genre. who do you think is gonna get into more shit? the dude talking about beating bad bitches and smokin fools and serving time or the dude making some shitty future bass? one is way more morbidly interesting to keep track of and normies eat that shit up because of their desire to be part of something more than their boring lives on a subconscious level since they know deep down they're fucking tools who don't have the balls to be as rebellious.

I can assure you the overwhelming majority of them don't actually care about "music" in the sense that you guys do.

It's what the white girls want to listen to. That's literally the statistical reasoning behind it

Yep

Rap turning into WWE was PERFECT timing for our social media age.

Ditto with crazy antics & such - would have been perfect for rock music back in the 80s & 90s, too. 100%

now a days rock music is a bunch of predictable pussies. No excitement.

Rock music was always at its best when it was daring & different, you know. For as popular as Led Zeppelin was, they were certainly heavier & more ambitious than literally all of black music back then, you know. So even they were still 'diferent', in that way, you know.

Rock bands today are pathetic, as is the Rock scene.

>For as popular as Led Zeppelin was, they were certainly heavier & more ambitious than literally all of black music back then, you know.
But it's literally straight plagiarized from black blues musicians from the 50s/60s. Only watered down and polished by Britbongs for pop radio.

This. Zeppelin had the policy of steal first, apologize later.

because high school and college kidz who buy top 40 singles from the iTunes Store don't think white people music is cool anymore.

>Led Zeppelin was, they were certainly heavier & more ambitious than literally all of black music back then, you know.

hahahahahahhahahhaahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahhahahahahahahahahahah

soys also enjoy rap now that anything 'black' is celebrated by the right libshit figureheads, they also want to impress the bull with thier playlist

>Why is rap:
-it has poor artists that are cheap to pay
-it has uneducated artists which are often easy to manipulate
-it has dumb fans which are easy to manipulate and market to
-the artists are often criminals and are easy to pin blame on for anything that goes wrong
-the artists often get into silly legal issues that provide free marketing
-the artists half "lipsync" and wander around on stage for live shows. Meaning they are easy to tour cheaply.
-it's easy to steal or purchase (cheaply) beats on the internet making modern rap easy to produce since somebody else is basically doing all the real work for you.
>popular?

Gee, I wonder.

yeah, every normie wants to seem "progressive" nowadays so they only listen to what's approved by SJWs.
