For ruining britpop?

Söygaysis deserve no credit

Me

>only had one mildly popular song 25 years ago
>more known for fighting with each other and being assholes
What fucking credit???

Pretty good band. Don't Look Back in Anger is nice. Would have been a better band if they wore ties and suits - now that's real punk in this day and age

For creating indie pop

In the States anyway

In Britain they're considered one of the best, if not the best band of the 90s.

They were never punk

Um sweatie, the Beatles created indie pop youtu.be/I4xw_Dx0pIg

They had a number of top 20 hits

>le everyone tries to be punk
Fuck off. You think too much of your shitty meme genre.

I guess I really just meant rebellious, which is how I think of rock and roll

Criminally underrated

>indie
They were on a major label you dunce.

Yeah I can see why you say that I guess, although they were pretty tame compared to grunge bands of the time

No they aren't. I'm British and Oasis are derivative pub shite for low IQ dickheads.

Don't remind me. The fact that it's been 25 years and you still have to hear this garbage played in public is an embarrassment.

I'm so sick of these fucking wannabe Manc cunts dressing up and emulating Liam Gallagher. It's almost the 2020s, you spastic. You're like 3 decades behind.

Seconding this.

You can be indie and on a major label.

What genre is this influenced by? Soft rock???

It just proves how popular they are in the UK still. If you don't like them, fine but most other British rock fans like them quite a great deal. NME held a reader's poll for the best album of all time and Definitely Maybe took the #1 spot

Not really. Maybe you don't know what Indie is?

I don't care, just pointing out your mistake

Indie is a genre of music.

Glam rock

Not really. it's a release method and DIY aesthetic

So there's no criteria for indie music?

Shit bait aside, the Beatles don't have indie sound at all.

>tripfag

You stupid fucker. How about you being by asking yourself what a criterion even entails. How can you dignify even representing the sounds that are emanating in a categorical manner? Fuck your Dewey Decimal System mindset and what it stands for when it relates to indie music.

>that matters

So no, there's no critera and it's just aimless BS. Gotcha.

Of course there is. Why would you label something a genre if you don't know what it is?

So what is it other than not being on a major label?

Answer my question first

Dirty Knobs

What question

...

I wouldn't, that's why I ASSUMED there would be a criteria for the music but no one ever talks about it.

How about you quit arguing for the sake of just flexing your egos and stay on topic?

Trip coming through, listen up. Indie pop in the classical sense does have requirements, otherwise it would have started in the 50's which we know not to be true. Our current best knowlege of it is that its earliest form, from which all others are derived, comes from a fusion of bigstar-esque power pop, with post-punk sensibilities added. It was originally more low fidelity, but retained a pop sound. Happy? From its inception in the early 80s, it evolved in to a number of scenes (twee, jangle, dunedin, C86) before merging with the abomination that is 'alt-rock' in the mid-late 90s andd losing all meaning

>tripfag

You sound like a pretentious douche and the Beatles were never indie
Can we get back to the topic at hand now?
Thanks

>I wouldn't
So this wasn't you >stop talking about music on a music board!
Nah
You are supposed to toy with them first. Lurk longer before picking up a trip

You autistic fag, it's not on topic

>autistic
Which one of us is sperging about not being on topic?

>this matters

lose weight

OP here, loling at the shitstorm I made

No, made it.

We made it
