That Sunn O))) album is fucking amazing. Their best work in awhile.
Was surprised to see a new Flying Luttenbachers album, but pleasantly surprised. It's great. Same with the Nilssen-Love album(s) and Sunn.
Agreed, though I still think Monoliths is their best overall.
Conceptually I'd agree. I think the new album sounds better in terms of sound quality/production.
The FL rips so hard. Love that on the track Epitaph, Weasel liked the two takes the band did in the studio so just used both of them at the same time, panned hard right and left. Crushing density. Ok it's not the complexity of Systems Emerge... but still a great record.
new Xiu Xiu is the only thing worth while.
I'll give you that, though Randall Dunn sure is no slouch either. The new album sounds massive, but in terms of arrangements and pushing their sound forward, Monoliths & Dimensions was next level. It's all good though, and really, seeing them live is the way to go.
I really want to see them but they haven't been here since 2012.I've heard incredible things about their shows.
If you get a chance don't miss them. Worth it to really feel those sounds. That live record with the Russian title sounds like how they were last time I caught them, but without the palpable physicality of it... you just can't get that effect at home.
By your post I can't tell if you mean 'no top 40' or if you mean 'no teenage girls' well SIA is both
what is this stuff?
Gay thread
EBM revival 2k19, anyone?
How can you not tell?

Stay ignorant
i mean i could look it up, i'm kinda new here, is it that 'noise' crap you guys are so hard about? I like jungle/dnb

cringe
Vijay Iyer is a trust-fund baby and a fucking poser, don't listen to that shit. Taborn is great though.
Ambient Techno
implying listening to negro ooga booga with terrible instrumentals and lyrics written by a 13 years old boy will make me less ignorant
You got a DL link for that? Haven't found any noteworthy albums this year yet
try on soulseek
Karen O - Lux Prina
Bretty Good, didn't expect to like it so much
Based Westkust and Jonatan Leandoer, both underrated af
Your racism does tho
A lesser known one but I really enjoyed this
Good taste!
i'm only racist for rap music
The Novembers - Angels
The Caretaker - Everywhere At The End Of Time 6
anyone else listen to pic related? really been liking it a lot, like if i made a list of my favorite albums this year so far itd be in the 10 best, and there have been more than 10 really good albums dropped so far
surprised this hasn't blown up more it's really unique
Don't really get the excitement for it. It sounded decent but not that interesting or unique or anything to set it apart as a highlight of the year so far.
I liked this album he did
But sometimes he does come across as a huge fucking fraud who couldn't even play a standard convincingly
Oh and the recent album he did that had Steve Lehman on it had some decent racks.
Pic related is one of the albums that's kept me coming back to it most -- it's mixed in there with the other best albums I've come across this year. Curious on thoughts from anyone ITT who's gotten around to hearing it.
I appreciate the thread you're trying to make but you come across as someone who just started listening to slightly less popular albums a week ago and is really proud of himself.
Here's a track from a rap album (that has a feature from Large Professor from Main Source!) I've enjoyed from this year and would definitely rec if you like the sound of it.

based. has the vinyl came out yet? i planned on buying it but lost interest when she seemingly did.
I haven't listned to this one yet, but it came out this year on ecm
Also going to rec a pay what you want album on Bandcamp from I think a moderately popular artist, Eric Taxxon. Thought this album was really good.

Never had the financial opportunity to properly collect vinyl so I don't follow that sort of news but I'm glad there are other fans of the album around.
Here are stuff I liked if it helps anyone.
