Just heard for for the 1st time on 4channel's Music board. I was bouncing around like an 18yo, I'm 53. This is a work of guitar and lyrical genius.I Riff is tough. But with enough tenacity you and I might be able to figure it out. Music like this brings us together.
Lucas Evans
They're a great band and definitely the ones to watch. Must better and a million times more socially conscious of the music of today
Matthew Edwards
Did u even try?
Its just Cmaj and E min on guitar
not that hard to figure out the riff, on Cmaj add in D note (3rd fret), that's a C9
edit: the fret edges suck pretty bad, catches the e on the 9th ish fret sometimes
Bentley Foster
Had one. It was a great guitar, but too big for me.
Fret sprout. It's normal. Get a small file and be careful.
Sebastian Jenkins
thinking about it, masking tapes a good idea for that yeah?
Zachary Hernandez
GUITAR IS TURNING YOU GAY
Zachary Moore
yeah
Jaxson Sanchez
"tuning" you gay
Nolan Price
>thought it was a strange thing for dean to make though Why? They make all types of guitars.
Jayden Jenkins
Give me some good beginner classical fingerstyle songs
Carter Morris
because i usually only see these ones
Oliver Allen
So what??
Logan Stewart
You should check out their site
Angel Rivera
Thats a superb instrument
Justin Harris
I've come to believe this is jcums damage control personality. He can't play so he lashes out like this at those that can.
Julian Parker
Holy fucking >rent free No thats not me. I havent even been shitposting. Lay off the internet
Ryan Miller
Yeah but it's funnier if I pretend its you. Makes my morning coffee taste a little better.
Samuel Morris
That's a little sad, honestly.
Ayden Reed
You do you then dude.
Carson Robinson
Henlo. I'm dumb.
When you have active pickups do you put it in the #1 or #2 jack of an amp?
Colton Watson
I'm not sad about it at all. Just in a trollish mood and its amusing to me when people bully jcum.
I dont know why. I'm usually Mr. No Bully.
Connor Nguyen
what kind of amp?
Cameron Torres
I've been playing for 6 months and have an epiphone les paul (one of the better models). Would a prestige ibanez rg652 be a good upgrade? Are they really easy to play? One complaint I have with the LP is the weight/access to upper frets.
Lucas Adams
if all your looking for is less weight and fret access than yeah it makes sense
Landon Watson
Only sam can write something this stupid with this level of cope
Dominic Murphy
>Looking for a reverb pedal >behringer dr600: supposedly sounds like muffled garbage >everything else: $100+ for something that should cost $60 at the most because screw people without amp reverb
Should I just get/make a reverb tank with a bypass switch? They seem pretty simple.
Caleb Richardson
TOO LATE BRUH
Tyler Clark
Already buying a new guitar?
Alexander Stewart
Yeah, but he can't use capitals or apostrophes.
Samuel Lewis
You wont believe me, but I don't know who Sam is. I'm just a bored user thats taken note of how stupid you are. Except for your taste in beer, which I can support.
Brayden Bennett
True. Anyways if you spot him report him for evading his bans
Adrian Miller
It's fine to buy a new guitar if your first one is limiting. 6 months is usually when people do that.
>Buy 21 fret guitar with low output single coils >6 months later, whether or not you play guitar depends on whether or not you can learn megadeth solos >buy 24 fret guitar with extra spicy active pickups >6 months later, only enjoy playing country licks
But looking to go from an LP to an ibanez is a little dumb unless he just needs the extra frets. If you can't play around an LP neck joint or deal with the weight you have technique and physical fitness issues, not gutiar issues.
Jackson Stewart
You will learn how to get sweet (you)'s soon enough.
I've gotten like 5 out of one troll post lol I'm okay with that. Anyway I'm done being a dick, it doesn't sustain me like it used to. I'm thinking of purchasing pic related for recording, how crap is it? It's like a 1/3rd of the price of all the other entry-level interfaces.
I have a squier affinity that I got back last June and its pretty limiting. Don't have the money for a new one yet unfortunately
Angel Wright
In what way is it limiting?
Luis Collins
how do i approach setting all the different volumes and gains. i have volume and gain on amp (preamp?), the master volume, the boost, and then the volume on the guitar.
Dominic Cruz
Start with, in this order:
Guitar volume all the way up Boost off Preamp volume/gain to achieve desired level of distortion Master volume to desired level of loudness Adjust boost to pick out your desired increase in volume/gain for your solos (etc)
Now you can roll off your guitar's volume to clean up, or engage to boost to get a bit more when you need it.
No matter what I do it buzzes at the high frets, pick ups are poor and obviously >made in Asia
Nathaniel Sullivan
Doesn't matter
Luke Lewis
Just get it set up, it'll last you another year at least.
Camden Price
Ibanez is going to be way lighter and yes the frets should be easier to access.
Ethan Jones
If you have the know how why not.
Henry Lee
It's either that or get a Big Sky.
Oliver Jenkins
I would get another guitar and use the affinity as a test bed for learning how to set up, wire pick ups and anything else you may want to learn it what I use my Squire affinity strat for these days so I don't fuck up one of my good guitars.

Jace Mitchell
Why are you mad about it?

because some nigerian tried to pass me false money and because i can play MAD GUITAR LICKS
But why does that make you mad? He didn't try to steal from you, he tried to steal from your boss.

I ordered some pedals and I'm waiting on them to arrive. Still in the market for an overdrive, but am considering the Black Art Toneworks Quantum Mystic if I can catch one on the used market. Apart from that, what other pedals do I need? Compressor is not really required since I'm using active pickups. I'm shooting for a grungy doom tone with drone influences.
I'll probably even pickup more dirt boxes going forward. I just can't seem to help myself. I'm really enjoying hunting down clones of niche and expensive pedals. Seems especially easy to do with overdrives and fuzzes. A BAT Pharoah clone is one I'll probably grab eventually.
What else? The only other thing I can think of would be a chorus (Empress Red Witch) or reverb (EQD Afterneath, Walrus Audio Descent, etc). Or a tremolo pedal. My concern with reverb pedals is that you rarely see any on a proper touring band live board. I'm afraid it will mud everything up. How are live bands getting their verb sounds?
i have to pay it when i take fake money because he trained me to spot them
Lincoln Garcia
Classical is boring learn some mississippi john hurt songs

is there a way - even if ghetto - to make a strat have more acoustic volume?
Ryder Torres
Put the body up against a table. So the contour touches the edge of the table and make sure yoir headstock is touching a wall at the same time. Alternately bite your headstock while you play.
Leo Walker
no

what about something like making holes and cavities inside the body
idgaf that Lannister Jazzmaster is totally pimpin' and I want one.
Chase Ramirez
Heres an instructional document that teaches you music and how to play guitar based on simple music theory concepts. it will guide you from the most basic to the more complex topics of guitar to help you learn songs by ear and make your own music. bass players can probably make use of it as well.
yeah and ignore the acoustic question huh i want to practice at my job, i bought a mini amp but it's still not so small
Levi Butler
Sam youre talking to me jcm900fag. Try finding a small single speaker cab and then buy something from the joyo bantamp line. Pic related. Its the size of 3 beer cans.
yeah i should have guessed, only the worst poster would say such stupid and useless suggestion
and then another one, holy fuck. i cant have a fucking cab on my job, i already bought a micro deanmarkley amp and i dont think there's anything smaller than that, other than maybe plugging a vox heaphone amp into a bluetooth speaker. hey maybe i should have done that instead of getting this bee-box.
Kevin Stewart
joyo amps are pure black magic
the guitarist in my band bought a zombie as a gigging head cos he got sick of carrying a combo around. It sounds fucking phenomenal to the point having one generic "tone" knob does nothing to make it unusable. It sounds better and puts out as much volume as most of the other bands enormous 100w heads we play encounter.
John Long
It really is a solid piece of equipment and does capture the dual rec sound. I cant wait to a/b it with my jcm900 once i get a power soak for it. And the Bluetooth functionality is great for blasting tunes in between practice.
I haven't played acoustic guitar since I was a kid and gave up learning guitar. I started learning again last Christmas when I got myself an electric and I've been loving it.
But this week I'm up visiting my parents and I wanted to practice guitar so I started practicing on my dad's acoustic. I now completely remember why I gave up when I was a kid, everything about this feels completely unnatural. There's a massive unwieldy hunk of wood right under your strumming arm, the action is way higher, the frets weirdly seem bigger.
I realize acoustic guitars can sound beautiful and I just need to git gud but when I was a kid why was the meme among adults that it's best to learn on an acoustic? I used to hear this all the time but it just seems objectively wrong.
looking at amps and am leaning towards either a fender or vox. Don't have the money or space for a marshall stack even though I do want a gritty oasis/blur type tone.
lol no. thas fag is more well adjusted than these fa/gg/s. it even seems like he has some kind of self confidence.
Brody Jackson

Angel Murphy
How do I add more parts to my song? I've got a good base going where the verse turns into a cool guitar bit but it's technically just the same 3 chords in the same order both times and that's all I have right now. I made another to it too but it's again the same chord progression just played in a different style.
Leo Mitchell
I get them from stores I frequent if they're on sale. We got a couple overstock/off cut stores in the area where I can get like 7 black tees for less than $20. That's me, though.

Can you use the fx loop on a deluxe memory boy to send the delayed signal in to a separate amp?
Isaac Long
tuesday is for two-handed tapping, brehs. what's everyone playing?
not entirely a bad thing but if you get something that plays good you get a gibson-tier finish (albeit for 1/10th the price) and if you get a good finish it plays like shit
t. owns an asian guitar that plays good but has small flaws in the finish, and a three piece body (actually sounds better unplugged than any of my other guitars though lmao)
Brandon Bennett
Not a larp. I was born in south Louisiana right outside New Orleans. I been playin jazz and blues piano and guitar my whole life.

Michael Flores
Luckily you don't even have to play the guitar for shoe gaze. You just let it hang around your neck while you cry like the enormous pussy you are.
Adam Butler
How did Leo Fender make such nice guitars when he couldn't even play guitar?
I know the lick/riff starts with a G note, but what follows? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Robert Williams
run a mic in front of you crying and stack a shit ton of fuzz, reverb and vibrato pedals and bam we have a new shoegaze band
Easton Carter
>hurrr why do people play things suited for showcasing the natural tone of a guitar/amp in a video the sole purpose of which is to showcase the natural tone of a guitar/amp The biggest mystery in life
what are some things to look out for when buying used acoustic guitars? I'm only just now starting to play guitar(I'm 18, been playing for 3 months or so) and I have this really shitty First Act one from when I was like 12 and its sounds okay I guess(?) but it's neck is too fucking small and it's a bitch to play for long periods because it never stays in tune. So I'm considering getting a used acoustic from GC with some pocket change leftover from my shitty job and using it alongside my shitplank strat clone. Any advice for a noob like me?
Thomas Nguyen
thats about what I expected
Asher Murphy
Excessively long.
Consider cutting it down to 10-20 seconds.
Nicholas Kelly
Since you’re new, I’d probably prioritize comfort. Make sure none of the frets rattle or buzz when you play (fixing shitty frets on an acoustic is tedious), and avoid brands like Yamaha, First Act, etc. Some people like cutaways since high notes can be uncomfortable on acoustics but really that comes down to preference. Do a little research before you actually make the purchase, just so you know what to expect from the guitar you buy.
Leo Allen
Go to the store and find one you like. If you need help ask the guy about acoustic guitars within your budget and your complaints with the one you have.
Jacob Myers
Bumping this
Eli Turner
yeh im a bit of a weird unit, I like to listen to the same droning chords over and over, the whole recording on my computer goes for like 10 minutes, I appreciate the criticism though. also its not done, im going to put other guitar parts and vocals etc
i was gonna post about these what exactly is the point of this line other than getting fucking nerds of the show to buy their expensive instruments
Jacob Jones
Nerds have ruined guitars to a certain level. The amount of pedal-collecting faggots that can't finish a single decent song is evidence of that. Guitar as a fancy hobby and money sink has basically ruined guitar as a musical instrument.
That's another thing, why is learning guitar and sinking a shit ton of money into them such a common thing now? I can understand wanting spend money to upgrade your shitty amp or on pedals get a certain sound or whatever, but it seems like now it's being reduced to hoarding. It's fucking bonkers how much people here will shitpost about their expensive instruments and boutique pedals and amplifiers yet like you mention likely can't finish a song. It's fucking stupid.
Henry Lee
didn't Death's guitarists all play super strats with h s s

I have a 10 year old Yamaha Pacifica. Should I
>mod it to hell: new pickups, new frets etc. or >get a new Fender Telecaster
I like the idea of making a truly unique sound, but if it costs more than getting a new, better guitar I won't bother
Kayden Lopez
No clue
Alexander Jenkins
if you're serious about upgrading it and you already like how it plays, why not. Nowadays electronics and your amp means much more than most anything else. Pickups by themselves shouldn't be very costly, and altogether with getting frets reworked it shouldn't cost you any more than it would to buy a brand new Squier.
Ryder Bell
Game of Thrones is possibly the most popular TV show in the western world. There are many doctors, lawyers, dentists and other high-income professionals who play guitar and like to flex on the poorfags. Some of these people are bound to also like GoT
Andrew Turner
To me they seem very classist. 25-35k for a guitar with a TV show design? Bloody hell
>implying 25 grand for a fucking guitar is reasonable at all
Ryan Long
It stop being about quality and starts about the bling around $800-1000 though.
Caleb Brooks
Shut up stupid American who takes everything in life for granted.
Andrew Johnson
Just bought my first electric. i notice there's much more friction when sliding my hand up and down the neck (it's a telecaster). is this just something i need to get used to?
Jayden Campbell
That's not universal to electric guitars, that just means the finish on the neck isn't as smooth as on your acoustic.
If it's really a problem you could probably refinish it yourself if you're handy or you could just pay a luthier to do it.
Jordan Jones
What finish on the neck? That gloss polyester shit you're better off getting rid off completely and using a finishing oil like gunstock oil (tru-oil etc). If it's nitro, get some really really fine sandpaper and give it a couple of careful passes so it turns matte.
Sebastian Sanders
does anyone know where i can get protools for free lol
Christian Campbell
on a semi-similar note, why is it more uncomfortable to play barre chords on my shitplank with a C shape neck than it is on my even crappier shitplank with a much thicker U shape neck? Am I just holding it wrong or what?
Owen Thompson
Because the U shape fits your knuckles better? Try adjusting how much of the index finger you use.
Brandon Adams
The action is probably higher.

I have been obsessed with Nick Drake for years now. I’m trying to play Hazy Jane but I can’t seem to get anywhere near as rich and vibrant of a sound as he does in this demo recording. Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to copy his style? I’m playing on a cheapo guitar I got from a pawn shop for $90 and there is no case so it’s been exposed to the elements, maybe I just need a higher quality guitar?
I know the saying about how imitation is suicide, but Nick Drake himself committed suicide, so I feel like it’s justified.
TV shows are for adults. Kids are all about video games and webcasts.
Nerds ruin fucking everything. I won't deny that tube amps sound good. But digital effects don't sound good below a certain price point and really good analog effects pedals COST $30 EACH, OFTEN LESS. And you can make them yourself, if you're such a nerd, FOR $30 EACH, OFTEN LESS.
What the fuck is with these assholes and their $100+ boxes of $20 electronics that don't even have the collectible cool factor like ts808s? I've seen fucking boost pedals go for $300. Brand new, production line soldered, $300 boxes of maybe $10 in electronics. Even large companies are guilty of this by artificially restricting supply to justify charging out the ass for century old tech. Sometimes it actually is century old tech.
>dude, germanium resistors lmao
Ayden Reyes
I can get a Katana 50 for $150 used. Is this the best amp I could get in that price range? I mainly want it for the USB output and the effects. I'd like to make psychedelic/garage rock.
Tyler Harris
Orange valvestate micro-heads don't cost that much more. I've seen them sold with the matching cab for $250 and lower, and they sound a lot better than katana 50s.
50w solid state "practice" amps sound like trash unless you're shooting for permanent hearing damage. I dunno why, they just do.
Dominic Rivera
Yeah, I don't understand this fixation on paying $300 for $30 in parts. And people will own dozens of them.
Yes.
Kayden Sanchez
It might be the same people that think a guitar will magically sound better if the neck and body are each a solid unmolested piece of an exotic hardwood and that nitro finish will brighten the tone even compared to a poly coat of equal thickness.
Liam Powell
>tfw multi-piece necks are louder and brighter
don't respond if your neck has less than 11 pieces.
>Squier >"STRATOCASTER" >Reversed headstock >Licensed Floyd Rose >Not licensed EMG lookalike active pickups Was this made for a competition in how not to make a guitar?
Hunter Flores
Flat fretboard too.
It was purpose built for pissing off boomers.
Julian Johnson
Not even slightly radiused? Is it using fucking nylon strings too?
David Adams
Good morning /gg/entlemen. Didn't get to practice yesterday, was my girls birthday and she monopolized me. Going to practice twice as hard today.
You'd be wrong. The most recent metal I've enjoyed is A7X. Most of the 'metal" I listen to is 0's and early 90's stuff. Other than that I'm a classic rock guy. Nice try though, poorfag.
it looks like babies first guitar. very sparse and boring. my first guitar was a white ibanez S series my dad got me used when I was 15. I hated how boring it looked. I wish I hadn't sold it now, I have a better understanding of how good the S series is.
Anyway the C-1 Hellraiser isn't for everyone. Personally I think it's a gorgeous axe and it fucking screams. I like red guitars.
Jose Peterson
Yes, although I don't think I'll be able to get it to Australia with me. I might have to sell it.
Matthew Richardson
If you guys think guitars are expensive........don’t get into photography lol
Cameron Ortiz
stop trying to resurrect this argument, go find a photography board
Jace Rogers
Good for you, user. Stop making excuses and finish your fight this time.
Chase Gutierrez
Im a fan of simole functional guitars. Beres my latest cop its red and probably the flashiest one i have. My mia strat is black with maple neck so pretty bland but id rather have that than some faggy pastel color What is it?
Why? They’re both toys for adults and easily comparable. It’s not even an argument either lol
Luke Thompson
>rent free
Angel Rodriguez
We both already know its the latter. Jsut make sure the transfprmers are good. Or replace them with dagnalls
Gavin Gutierrez

Im sorry but i dont understand and im inclined to believe thats due to your own retardation.
Caleb Hall
I don't hate Dean as much as some here but it's not my brand of choice. That being said, that quilt is really nice. I need an LP copy.
Here's my other electric, it's a 1968 Kapa Continental, refinished and with a new neck and pickups. Not as flashy as the hellraiser but I love the deep grain.
Dean really fucked up and got greedy with the dime craze and made some bad entry level instruments. Those are chinese made. Staying away from chinese guitars in general is a good rule of thumb. But the korean stuff is superb. Its made in WMI same place as many other brands like schecter ltd prs etc. I never called your guitar kaka but i dont really agree with the stain choice. Something lighter would be nice. Heres the grain on a chink dean im procrastinating to refinish.
>i might have to sell it Thats not saying outright that youre selling it you cunt. Fucking kiwi brain
Samuel Russell
You want to take a 410C on a plane? You're more than welcome to.
Adrian Robinson
It can get expensive. Maybe get a job so you can buy a real amp?
David Davis
It wasnt really a stain "choice". The guitar originally came in a burnished red that I wasnt able to get all the way off, best I was able to do was expose some of the grain. I like red but hated that particular shade.
Lucas Carter
My peavey 260 is a real amp, I dont want to replace it I want it fixed.
Isaac Davis
If it was a piece of gear i really liked/needed that was unobtainable in my new location i would go out of my way to bring it with me That being said youre probably a nasty chink since youre immigrating to australia.
Levi Nelson
Cool, meet me in the UK and you can take it to Australia for me.
Zachary Morris
So you havent took sandpaper to it? Well then get a job and get it fixed. Im not trying to be pessimistic but go in the repair ready to spend $300 at least. Best case scenario youre an idiot and its just a fuse or something else you could have fixed. Worse case is busted transformers and then any other electrical component. Keep difficulty of obtaining and higher price of vintage/niche components in mind.
Carter Torres
Deal but its gonna run you 7k usd. Youre not doc are you? Why are you going to australia? Are you a felon?
Tyler Watson
I've researched what the issue is, I can't fix it on my own. And why do you think I don't work? I just wanted a general idea of the out-of-pocket I'd be looking at.
Jack Campbell
>7k usd Deal. When can you be here? >doc Sure am. >Why are you going to australia? You read the news?
Jayden Gomez
>So you havent took sandpaper to it?
I did. This thing was painted in 1968, it's not just some nitro top coat. It was real paint that went into the grain.
Ayden James
This is what originally looked like (not my pic, just found a pic of the original paint job)
The empire's been collapsing into the ground for a few years now, I'm going somewhere sunny.

Nope, bass head

Try using mineral spirits and a 200 grit lightly followed by increasing increments of grit
Aiden Edwards
Oh so larp Good cleans im assuming.
Jacob Sanchez
>Good cleans im assuming. Crystal. And the reverb is super roomy. I love this amp. I pre a Rockman X100 into it for distortion and that Boston chorus, thats been my tone for 20 years. I miss it, I hate this fucking Line 6

How? Clean channel, plenty of sustained ringing notes as well as fast picking, lots of bending. In what way is it not s good tone tester?
