So now that the dust has actually settled, can we please all admit that this was a terrible album?

people keep saying it's terrible but nobody has ever mentioned why

cuz it ain't no good

You keep saying people "keep saying .... mentioned why" on each of these threads even though you have been answered each and every single time

No but GKMC is better

no

hating on this album is just the most contrarian shit ever. no one ever gives reasons as to why its so terrible

kendrick is over-rated
somebody post the copypasta where he freestyles and turns into the devil then an angel

black man bad

no

I like it more than GKMC but it's not in my top 30 or so.

You just hate Melon for giving this a ten and not thank u next.

To be honest, I never come back to this album like I do with Good Kid. Something about it rubs me the wrong way.

Almost a dozen of replies and still no one has explains why it sucks

Can someone post this

It's to preachy and not fun. It also has tracks that are borderline unlistenable.

The "Jazz" is uninteresting.

The album version of "i" is meh.

The album cover is of a bunch of black men and boys posing and celebrating on the corpse of a dead white man.

The lyrics throughout are very thematically consistent with the above point.

GKMC was a pretty darn good album made by a guy who hadn't really made a solid album front to back yet. GKMC was praised so, so, so much that you can tell on this album that he's trying so, so, so hard to create another masterpiece. GKMC feels like lightning in a bottle, TPAB feels like a guy trying to capture lightning in a bottle again.

This album was given so many 10/10 and near 10/10 ratings for clearly political reasons. This kind of taints something, even if you don't want it to.

You can weed out teenagers by seeing who gets mad when you call this album bad

LOL

This is why people don't post genuine criticisms of the album. The only responses they get are from high schoolers who don't know how to form a cogent response

the album is around a 7.5 for me but you are judging it based on politics too, who cares if it celebrates hate towards whites? stop being a baby and give valid criticism

what to respond with other than you're flat out wrong. where did you even get that

>Stop crying, give valid criticism
>Half my points were not related to politics

Also

>Implies that it's not valid to critique an album's lyrical themes

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Pic related is you user

Defends inability to give a cogent response with another non-cogent response

The absolute state of high schoolers

tell me the lyrics that talk about how much he hates whites

Not everyone likes the jazzy production. Not everyone agrees with Kendrick's sentiments and political views. Very heavy handed and preachy.

Wait, I'm confused, are we discussing the politics of the album or not? Because it's bad musically and it's bad lyrically. I'm down to discuss the shortcomings of both though.

"You hate me don't you?
You hate my people, your plan is to terminate my culture
You're fuckin' evil"

Some of the words on this album could be attributed to ethno-nationalists like the New Zealand killer and you wouldn't even know

why is it always the blacker the berry. that song he is playing a character, I thought that was obvious. is blacker the berry the only song everyone has a problem with? if so say you hate the song and not the entire album

Of course, black people are actually extremely cringe and it won't be long until even the normalfags begin to realize.

It’s hip hop, need I say more? Posting this unironically by the way

its gonna go down as album of the decade
