I was surprised. Really wasn't expecting to think that much of it. I enjoy some of Drain Gangs work like certain releases of Bladee and Yung Lean. But Thaiboy Digital and that mixtape seems vastly underrated, it's better than Eversince in my honest opinion.

I think its a bit overrated but the highlights on it are great (Movies, Everyday, Andromeda) meanwhile there are some boring tracks (Wild Time, Mirror Forever). Production is great throughout. I respect that endless rating although I think its worse than both Blonde and CO.

Luminiferous sounds markedly stylistically different from De vermis mysteriis, which sounds markedly different from Snakes for the Divine, which sounds markedly different from Surrounded by Thieves. Each album I just listed focuses on something different musically each time.

Perhaps I'm wrong, and I just lost interest in the band. Of course, they weren't totally putting out the same album from the start, there was quite a bit of evolution up until 2010, so maybe I just moved on from them and every time I tried something since it generally didn't sound that much different to me. You know how that happens. I'm sure there're some details, but don't make it sound like there were some Boris/Ulver-like huge shifts in sound and style

But when the albums are clearly focusing on majorly different aspects of the genre (for example, De vermis mysteriis' focus was on being as loud and aggressive as possible, whereas the focus on luminiferous was making a smoother, much more melodic record), it's extremely silly to imply they're making the same record over and over.

Not the guy you responded to but here goes.
For the majority of my ratings, I use a scale in increments of 0.25, on a scale that goes to 10. 95% of my ratings follow this pattern.
However, I will use ratings on a 0.1 scale increment in specific situations. Most recently this occurred with an album that I relistened to, rated each track as I went along, and found at the end that the average track rating left me with an overall of about 6.42.
I couldn’t quite legitimize rounding the album score up to 6.5 as I didn’t think it was quite as good as other albums I had rated such, but I also found it slightly better than all my 6.25 albums.
So I rounded down from 6.42 to 6.4, and left the score as such.
