super funky, love the bassline and the wobbly synths. And your voice is lovely as always. Your tracks always sound so professionaly made, the production is astounding and the melodies are super catchy. Great job user. Extra points for the guitar solo
Creep is pretty decent but you ruin it with your vocals man. Also why did you rip off the guitar part of the verse of smells like teen spirit, it's the exact same. Also some notes on the ''solo'' seem wonky. I've known your stuff for a while, and your music still sounds like a discount nirvana. Try to change a bit for gods sake
soundcloud.com/chriskyl/sets/ableton-free-trial-ep >lofi >altrock >my new EP i suppose.... pick any song u like, theyre all equally shitty, but lmk which track u pick!!!! or listen to them all fuck it its ur choice
such a slow burn, but i enjoyed it. the synths have a weeping quality that is really emotive. this shit does go kinda tuff towards the end. really enjoyable.
for a first track, this is highly impressive, in my opionion. what DAW do you use. that drumwork is really impressive, considering how new you are. the only criticism i can give is that it does get boring after a while. dont be afraid to go absolutely hog wild on the drums machine or whatever ur using. all in all, p atmospheric and interesting stuff
this is sweet. super funky, and i really enjoyed the beginning. honestly i dont got much criticism, just very cool stuff

Do you think good route to learn producing songs is to make covers "from a scratch" so to speak?
I am too embarassed to post my songs here production-wise, they sound like raw demos, something like tapes you might bring with you to a studio to make a clean record over it
I've been thinking of trying to produce "copycat" EP/Demo consisting of 2 songs of one of my favorite artist, trying to make it absolutely as unoriginal and faithful to the original, just to see if I can replicate the sound
Good idea yes/no?
Josiah Garcia
Thank you for the feedback I don’t really wanna change I like what I’m doing but I appreciate the feedback. As for the 2 note thing I just thought that sounded cool and filled the song out really well I didn’t mean to rip anything off i was just doing what I thought sounded cool

New EP coming out this Summer, and then another one this Fall/Winter! (definitely the best stuff we've ever written)
ALSO, ALL OF OUR MUSIC IS ON SPOTIFY AND ALL OTHER STREAMING SERVICES: If you're a Spotify user, please give us a follow on Spotify and if you like our tunes, stream them there and save some. It'll take ya 25 seconds, and that REALLY helps independent artists on Spotify to make it to editorial playlists which are essentially the only way for an unsigned artist to get any exposure at all. Help your fellow Yea Forumssicians out :)
sounds a bit contrived, like ur overthinking it. its important to work within ur bounds, if ur really bout making music. demos can be very enjoyable to listen to, if theyre cool... its an interesting idea though. it will probably also teach u the basics... but i doubt you'll learn a ton by trying to jack the production, that sounds like kind of hard to do
this doesnt really offer anything texturally/harmonically interesting so i dont really know what to say. its just ambient. the production sounds kinda flat but its catchy and i like the interplay between the guitars along with the dynamic drums. i dont think id choose to listen to this but its good for what it is. far too much reverb on everything + the drums are too boomy and i cant discern a single lyric/melodic refrain here. sounds like a significantly worse version of what wild nothing was doing in 2010. please dont call this post-punk.
thanks for listening! Yeah, the production is slightly flat, we are really upgrading our recording setup and our next release should hopefully sound much more lively. Glad youre honest. Did you listen enough to hear the break down in our featured track? Usually that part makes people like song.
Just listened to your stuff, the video you linked. seems niche enough for a lot of young people and stuff to listen to it. seems a bit like its trying too hard though, ya know? Both the music and the video dont really do anything to interest me much. Behind all the delay, the noise, and lo-fi ness the song itself is pretty boring without much substance. Seems like lazy songwriting with a bunch of quirky and niche effects on top to get people to like it. But that definitely works for a lot of artists. At any rate, it seems like you know what you're doing. It's not bad by any means, just not my cup of tea. I can see a lot of people liking it, just not me

Drum beat is nice. The rest sounds like the Blade soundtrack. Sounds good not for me but I can tell this'll age like milk and no one will care.
feels too much like some noisy samples thrown in. it's also a bit too static. try going for some crescendos or develop the tracks to go somewhere deeper. try to ditch your 'pop' tag and just make noisy, psychotic synth punk
nice folky melody. maybe could've done something a bit more interesting with the deep muddy bass tho
oooh so keen on this - so shiny and sharp! adore the cosy intro wow, was loving it and then the vocals came in and mmmm gorgeous actually feel like i'm in space dancing to this.. or space is me.. beaut progression & big dreamlike quality - actually love this, more please!
This just screams ''I NEED DRUMS''. Cool vibe though. Kinda chill, kinda rough. So many directions for it to evolve. >soundcloud.com/pool-view/lyrical-ak Fuck, lol. Sounds pretty geeky/nerdy in a good way. 2004 vibes and all that.>soundcloud.com/impreza10101010/roswell Followed for future releases. As for constructive criticism - sounds kinda dry. Throw a sausage fattener on that bitch, get better drum samples, shape them, compress them, bop them, fuck them. Got a nice industrial vibe off of this weirdly enough. Kool. Too much verb though, eh? There's some other ways of getting that sound without blurring it that much. Would listen again though. Dope artwork. The video looks like something MDE would do, really really cool. Too much of a normie to enjoy the music though. TeXtuRes. bRO! >> >> Anyways, decided to drop some older ideas into one project, ended up discarding most of them and made something dumb. Would like to hear some feedback. soundcloud.com/heagen/johndeeredrivegreen >whatisagenre >808sforthezoomers >synthsfortheboomers >505hitsfortheautists
was expecting this to suck but it's actually nice, solid attention to melody, would sleep to. my only criticism would be that it's not aiming to be much besides relaxing ambient but if that's what you're going for then cool, I cant rly fully judge it anyway based on one track, nice stuff tho
here's a little guitar song i've been workin on--not quite finished yet it's pretty sad. sorry my voice is really shaky vocaroo.com/i/s1v0dQ2Os3Gq i also have an ep recorded in much better quality if anyone's interested! thewilliamotty.bandcamp.com/releases
what an excellent sound collage! this is the kind of music i'd love to make myself. really cool stuff you got here man. i'm gonna keep listening to this. the textures of the sounds are entrancing. especially on the first track while that melancholy chord progression drones in the background. i'm really impressed! if i had a cassette player i'd buy a physical right away another really impressive sound-sculpting project. the tones you get out of your synthesizer are somehow subdued and intense and awe-inspiring all at once. the choice texturing the soundscape with field recording really fleshes out this project into something unique. can i ask what microphone you use for the field recordings? >demos rejected hey man. record labels have high standards, is all. keep at what you're doing, and you'll be good enough eventually really cute. cute cute cute. nice vocals and bouncy beat. not usually a fan of this kind of music, but your stuff seems really passionate and important to you, which makes for a good listen in my book. damn talk about ambition. this is definitely NOT the kind of stuff we usually see on sharethreads. kudos to you for being adventurous in your musical world. obviously these pieces are positively dripping with emotional angst, and i mean that in the best way possible. your playing is delicate, balanced, and thoughtful. the arrangements are sparse, but effective. i would love to contribute some poetry! any way i can contact you?
Based on these threads, these genres seem to be the musical equivalent of postmodern "my three year old could make that" """"""art"""""" and people only label their music as such to remove any pressure to make something listenable since any criticism can just be dismissed as not "getting" the 400IQ random assortment of DAW filters and noises with no structure, progression, or talent required.
Prove me wrong.

(Galantron here) thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it. I listened to Let Me Stay and I liked a lot really, love that lo fi vibe. Reminds me a bit of au revoir simone. Listened to other stuff of yours but Let Me Stay is definitely my favorite.
thanks, you can contact me here [email protected] or via ig @crugleys btw, that ep of yours is really comfy. congrats.

Love the percussion, very unique production and the mixing and mastering sounds spot on. Amazing shit really.
Lovely singing voice. Love the way the percussion is mixed too, super comfy vibes.

Can I have some feedback on this? It's a theme for a frontal space cruiser assault on a fortress. clyp.it/yjawrzqc I'm using LMMS. I normally use Finale Songwriter with some soundfonts. My questions, for those more knowledgeable than I: >is it possible to take presets from LMMS and make .sf2 files using Viena for standard 128 midi and use them in Finale Songwriter? >i have tried importing midi files of pieces I have written in Finale into LMMS (I find writing classical notes on a staff to be much easier and also I have pieces in Finale I like the melody of but could use better sounds and be remixed). However the loading crashes at 66% or sometimes 27%. I looked at it said that this meant the Midis were incompatible, yet I had no issue opening these Midis with Ableton to do remixes. I loaded a default SF2 as the instructions said, but it's still crashing when I try to load Midis. Is there a way to fix this?
i really fucking like this song mann, really reminds me of something that they'd play in a weird japanese game or something. nice job man first three are solid tracks, i think you got sum tracy influence in there but i might be geekin komfy prob sum of the most complete stuff i've heard, keep it work dawg
ok ok lemme shill my shit: soundcloud.com/spicparker/doomguy >trap rap >grunge and punk inspired(?) >throw plates at the wall after you lose in csgo type beat
LMAO do you hate my presence in these threads so much that you feel the need to impersonate me??? thats so fucking funny thanks for the (you)

youtu.be/V5_7xkL8P48 Here’s a music video I released very recently, a single from an album I’m putting out soon. Would love some critiquing on the visuals as well.
>noise >drone
not very well versed in this genre besides the dust brothers, but I dig this a lot, love the percussion and it’s variations. Like the other user said, it’s really sick for a first song.
butter. so smooth. love your vocals and lyrics.
not sure what this reminds me of. But I like it a lot. Would love to see this live, it’s so texturally appealing, the speed of the hi hat and drum beat kills alongside the rest of the music.
Hoping for spotify follows or playlists. Feel free to show my repost channel some love as well some love or send me some tracks with a similar style: soundcloud.com/adefenselessoldwoman

trippy though I think you need more substance behind your psychedelic tricks
this is amazing to me except for the vocals, although I'm not a big fan of those punk style vocals in general so it might just be me... you guys seem to know what you're doing your demo is good, even the vocals. I think you just need to work on your delivery a little bit, some of the "ee" sounds are a bit grating but beyond that you hit all the notes in the right way imo
