That's true, just the way she immediately mentions her importance after describing the way she dresses makes me think the two are probably linked as is seemingly typical in NPD cases.

There's also a couple of things I've noticed about her which may go along with your hypothesis:

1. Billie is a huge clout-chaser. She boasted about having been good friends with X (see: youtube.com/watch?v=vo5JXupZTK8 ) no doubt in order to gain his fanbase. Her IG is filled with pics of her and her beside other huge celebrities, like doing this makes her seem "important". Also take into account why she'd want Denzel as her opening act: his album was one of the best of 2018 (huge critical acclaim, better than hers actually) and he has a huge fan following who endlessly claim everyone is "sleeping on him".

2. Along the same token, Billie brags about listening and admiring artists who are known for their talent and cutting-edge. She claims to have listened to NIN as a kid, for example and cites the Beatles as her biggest musical influence. She's desperately trying to look credible and "cultured" despite her actual art sounding anything but.
