ayyy good picks. wanted to get Saucerful but couldn't find one

The one on the left is free already, why did you buy it?

it's not free if you want a physical copy

What's the point in record store day

to buy exclusive and rare music

support local shops

To buy limited-release records and flip them on ebay to retards with too much disposable income.

haahaha

Picked up some tail. Brought them back to my place for some Bud and BBQ, and a quickie on the couch. You young fellas got a lot to learn

Attached: boomer core.jpg (1600x1087, 277K)

bump

Exclusives too expensive and I'm poor

nice picks, jelly of DG

is that a pig?

Nothing, I live in a 3rd-world country with no RSD

I bought Twin Peaks Season 2 and The Black Parade is Dead (nostalgia buy), my local store wasn't able to order any copies of steroids or Bill Evans in London.

Got CDs....Moon Express and Sunn ((O)))

Attached: IMG_20190414_182741879.jpg (3264x2448, 1.48M)

The Bible

Attached: IMG_20190414_183803.jpg (3120x4160, 3.38M)

need to listen this album....!

Where did yall buy steroids?

It's incredible, peak musicianship and intense philosophy

Newbury Comics. All the small local shops were sold out quick.

>picture discs
yikes

Fuck you I really wanted to grab pornography as a spare LP to my haul but after looking in five stores non of them had it it's a common reissue not even part of rsd but I couldn't find it

At my local shop.

>Picture disc

But why?

Consumerism and jews

Because I already have the original, variants are cool because I say they're cool

Steroids
new Modest Mouse single
new Julien Baker single

BUMP

did anyone manage to get or at least SEE the south park release?

I missed Steriods, FUCK.

Attached: 1531936610644.png (425x450, 319K)

My store got a copy and it didn't move until the last hour. The price tag proved to be far too steep for most people, understandably.

he is kinda a lil piggy :)

Who the FUCK does this cunt think he is?

Attached: 587587.png (1758x230, 70K)

I picked these up.
Why the fuck was Message in a Bottle so expensive?

>RSD
Steroids
Sage & Spirit

>Non-RSD, bought because they were on sale
Golden Hour
Kids See Ghosts

>my local record store attempted to order 10 copies of this
>only got 1
>they got 8 copies of the crow soundtrack instead

i was 6th in line so i managed to get it, but im pretty sure i was the only one who bought a copy of the crow soundtrack as well. its crazy looking through the replies on the RSD thread from yesterday, some stores managed to get a shit tonne of copies of a well sought after release that didnt sell all the copies while other stores got none

yeah its a little pricy thats for sure, but ive been a huge fan of south park for such a long time that price isnt really an issue for me. srcvinyl put up one for sale online and it sold instantly, fuck me

I got two copies of anal cunt picnic of love lol

also do you guys know any stores that sell rsd stock online after the day/weekend of the event? im very determined to find this fucking south park comp

Attached: 1544600083772.png (800x800, 72K)

Went to three different spots and none of them had The Crow or the new Pelican 7", so I just picked up the new High on Fire EP and called it a day. This RSD sucked ass.

I came late, so I had to settle for Pet Sounds instead of ITCOTCK and a few other albums I would've preferred

Attached: 20190414_214423.jpg (720x654, 324K)

Picked up Steroids and Picnic of Love

is that the blue version of since i left you?

US only
plaidroomrecords.com/collections/rsd2019/products/b-south-park-b-br-i-south-park-bigger-longer-uncut-music-from-and-inspired-by-the-motion-picture-i

>tfw non-US

FUCK. really appreciate it though user

Discogs bro. Not a vender but useful as fuck.

trying to avoid buying from there. its always horribly inflated

I wish, but no. Still well worth the money, it sounds incredible.

It was already an expensive package.

almost bought the cecil taylor reissue as well, but realized while in line that it was a renamed version of student studies, which i already have

Attached: rsd.png (1920x1435, 2.33M)

>tfw neither local store got the Cecil Taylor
I almost bought the Art Ensemble until I realized I own it as a comp called “Paris Sessions”

I grabbed
RSD EXCLUSIVE
>Griot Galaxy - Kins (funky Detroit free jazz from 1981)
>Steroids
NON RSD
>Morton Subotnick record
>Coltrane - Soultrane
>James Brown - Ain’t It Funky
>Comet is Coming’s new LP
>Herbie Hancock - Mwandeshi reissue

>John Cage Meets Sun Ra
Nice, didn't see anyone else who had copped this.

my local record store still has it but they put some insane price tag on it

I uploaded a full rip off the disc in the last rsd thread that you should be able to find in the archive if you wanna check it out without dropping the extra cash.

>tfw mine didn't have griot galaxy
:(
yeah it was honestly the main thing i went in for, i was super curious to hear/see what it was like because I know cage didn't really like jazz. I think you can hear how awkward ra and cage are on stage together in the music lmao, they barely interact. still really cool to have tho

Hunt down Griot Galaxy if you can. Well worth it. I’m trying to find some samples of that Marshall Allen/Roswell Rudd/3 orher guys 3lp box to see if it’s worth buying too

Also grabbed Gorillaz as well. Waited an hour and a half before the doors opened

All four copies of Steriods flew off the shelf in under a minute at my local record store.

Attached: 24CECC8F-392D-445E-B042-E40A23E43675.jpg (2922x3898, 2.51M)

Passed on the Cage Meets Sun Ra, a big want of mine, because I refuse to pay $30 for a single and a DVD. Missed out on the Todd box so a friend could get it, and the Flaming Lips flew off the shelves in the first hour, which surprised me.

I did get however
>The Residents - B.S. (like WB last year, this is a monumental step up from listening to the old bootlegs)
>Insides - Euphoria
>Robyn - Body Talk
> David Sylvian - There Is No Love
>Lou Reed - Ecstasy
>Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
>Elton John - Live from Moscow 1979
>Disco Not Disco
>Sunn O))) - Life Metal
>King Diamond - Them (OG US)
>King Crimson - Islands (OG US WLP)
>King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black (OG UK)
>Pearls Before Swine - Balaklava (OG US WLP)
>Harry Partch - Delusion of the Fury

What label put out the Harry Partch?

Attached: celtic-frost-53eb5e038c0de.jpg (1128x802, 125K)

it wasn't an RSD release, but the album was released through Columbia back in 1971. Fucking superb record.

Attached: modest_mouse_tlcw-1510679243-640x640.jpg (640x640, 75K)

That Residents is incredible. Side b is a total mindfuck.

thx, i need to poop naow

Attached: in-previous-flybys-juno-has-captured-remarkable-shots-of-other-storms-and-clouds-on-jupiter-this-pho (1200x889, 1.97M)

That Partch album is fucking unbelievable. Wonderful grab.

>how awkward ra and cage are on stage together
Oh so true. It would be tough though for any non-jazz performer to match Sun Ra's vibe.

appreciate it my friend. yeah wasnt keen on paying 70 AUD(!) on it lmao

>tfw local store still has a few copies of body talk

might have to listen to it just in case, seems to be fetching a high price online already

>RSD
Lot lot of the ones I wanted where sold out fast but I got
Flaming Lips
Courtney Barnett
Czarface
Death Grips

>NON RSD
Chvrches love is dead
Beach House 7
Daft Punk discovery/RAM
idels brutalism
NMH ITAOTS for shits and giggels

whats that flaming lips release like?

Absolutely grab that Robyn, user. At worst, you'll easily get your money back for it, but at best you'll have something that you'll dig and at retail as opposed to the absurd prices people want for it. I'm partly astonished that not only someone on Discogs listed it for $90, but that someone actually forked over the money for it.

American Stars n Bars>>On the Beach but both are 10/10s

Listening to it right now, hearing a pristine version of Hallowed Be Thy Ween is like a dream come true after listening to that old dingy bootleg mp3 for years.

Death Grips - Steroids
Green Day - Live at Woodstock
Bob Dylan - Blood on the tracks TP
Weezer - Teal/B-Sides
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
Gorillaz - The Fall
MCR - The Black Parade is Dead

Look not to be a jerk but there's no way to justify that opinion unless Stars and Bars is a new album to you and the freshness is attractive. It's widely considered a worse album -- Like a Hurricane is definitely a solid
song but On The Beach is unique and artful as a whole, it's top 2 in his discography and perfect branch between Harvest and Tonight's the Night in terms of style and subject.

might be my rose tinted glasses, which it problably is, but it was me and my dad's car album before i witnissed him destroy his life with alcoholism. Still love you dad

It's pretty good. And in a gold vinyl too

Attached: 1491108535367.jpg (634x634, 72K)

I'll listen to barstool blues tonight as a form of libation. that's terrible. Neil is the perfect artist for humanizing people that couldn't help themselves.

based and recordpilled

Attached: 1546999773490.png (1000x1000, 77K)

I might grab that Townes Van Zandt compilation tomorow. No one seemed interested at the store so it might be there still.

Attached: Rsd.jpg (5312x2988, 3.25M)

Didn't know there was a Todd box, that looks cool. DSD RIPZ when?

i got the townes van zandt, the records look sick. there was still a copy left over at the record store i went to

>mission of burma

they had this too, although ive only listened to the first album so didnt get it. is it a reissue?

First time on vinyl reissue. It sounds quite fantastic.

the only record store participating in my town just straight didn't have Steroids, it's all I really wanted

Did anyone else get the Mastodon release?

need Cows on Hourglass Pond

Yeah, it's a singles box with out of print mixes, etc. spanning from his first album on Bearsville to the end of his run with Warner in 1989. As for DSD (do you mean Disco Not Disco?) rips, there's little need because the compilation has been around for over a decade.

If you're the guy that sneaked inside our local store half and hour before doors opened to hide multiple records behind other releases with complete support from the owner (who acted as if he didn't know where the records even were), including the only Death Grips copy they got, fuck you. I got the release I was looking for, but my friend ain't got shit thanks to you, faggot.

based and sneakypilled

Attached: 1482402290908.jpg (395x387, 18K)

Thanks for deets. Nah, DSD is basically SACD audio format but usable on PCs. Decided to get into it now that data storage costs have officially hit joke-tier to me.

You going to any of the book signings? I'm hoping he'll sign the copy of Something/Anything my dad bequeathed to me.

based shitlord dabbing on Death Grips fags

ah my bad, and unfortunately I haven't. Personally, I'd have a copy of A Wizard, A True Star or Acapella signed but I've heard he's very gracious when it comes to fans, so I think you'll have little trouble getting S/A signed if you see him.

Everything i got over 2 days

Attached: 20190415_150153.jpg (3264x1836, 1.64M)

Yeah, I appreciate that. Those two I only have on CD since I decided to get out of vinyl a while back. If I could I would bring Healing, I was recently given a practically new copy of the original vinyl a few months ago, but I then had to fly home and didn't want to risk carrying it in luggage. Ah well, such is life.

TFW I got the last copy of Trout Mask Replica of two copies at the record store and everyone there was like "OH GOD WHERE IS THE BEEFHEART?!?!?"

Attached: OB-LL151_beefhe_DV_20101217205717.jpg (262x394, 23K)

yeah, Healing is a great one too. The box has the bonus single (or to me, the final two songs on Healing) with Time Heals/Tiny Demons, but I think a glaring omission on the box was not including the promo single of International Feel, although I get the general sense the content was restricted to officially-released singles for public consumption as opposed to going full hog and including promo singles and cancelled singles. But, for a 4LP box and a booklet, it was a good deal for 75 USD, although I couldn't get it myself.

Same situation, store got five copies and they were gone in the first ten minutes. This was expected mainly because all stores outside of the chains (Bull Moose, Amoeba, etc) got shortchanged this year because of the new pledge that essentially forced smaller stores to accept smaller turnover because of a bunch of newbies entering the fray.

Attached: jeff.jpg (640x626, 53K)

>tfw went back to my closest record store the day after rsd to get the only copy they ordered

Attached: 1536542275791.jpg (358x425, 37K)

Cheeky cunt. Got one myself, but I'm saving that and the Lou Reed for last. I'd reckon it'll see a widespread release since it's now gotten a limited edition version via Third Man, this RSD iteration, so the next logical step is to release it widely for those who missed it the first two times. Jack White may be a moron, but he surely isn't a big enough fool to not recognize the profit in TMR being easily accessible.

I swear 80% of the people at RSD here were 40 or older.

should probably bump before this falls off the catalog

there was a considerable amount of grey hair in the line where i went. but they were those mid late guys in their 30s, might be due to living a bad lifestyle or just stress

Why were people jizzing so hard over this. There are so many presses already

>tfw you work at a record store and order copies of death grips, the wipers, and disco not disco specifically for the employees as early as possible and they don't come in the order.

There are but it's still hard to come by. People don't let theirs go for cheap.

how did the order process work for this? do you submit a list of shit you want with x amount of copies and just get what you're given? do you ever receive shit that you didnt order?

how do you listen to the beach boys without feeling super corny and ridiculous. this is an honest question because i want to like them

> bottomless pit
> year of the snitch
> steroids
> father john misty - pure comedy

it was a nice day :-)

Picked up last year's hip-hop AOTY and one of my favorite albums from high school.
As a bonus the latter was a cool tie-dye pressing

Attached: 20190415_200910.jpg (2880x2160, 2.72M)

>bull moose opened up online orders half an hour ago
>refreshed the page at the perfect time
>added south park box set to my cart
>website lagging so badly thought it would crash
>get to checkout
>"theres either an error with your bank or ours, update credit card info rah rah rah"
>keeps happening
>"your order will stay in your cart until the problem is fixed"
>10 minutes after trying
>"your shopping cart is now empty! south park box set has been removed from your cart"
>go back to the listing
>mfw its sold out

FUCK THIS. ITS FUCKING OVER

Attached: 8a4.jpg (600x384, 15K)

based trips absolutely destroys rsd in one post, good shit

>buying the 180 gram reissue in 2013 so I could avoid finding myself in a situation like this

proud if high school self

>Thin pressing
>Warped
>Ugly-colored vinyl
>No innersleeve, just a flimsy cover
Could they have put less effort into the reissue?

Attached: 8656.jpg (600x600, 93K)

RSD is a shameless cash grab

Anyone got a rip of the Saucerful of secrets mono mix?

I don’t why anyone would want to listen to this in mono unless I’m wrong and it does sound better like sgt. pepper or pet sounds

>The Police - Message In A Bottle 2x7" is still available at every Bull Moose location
It's so overpriced, no one bought it.

Attached: keepinmemoney.jpg (680x383, 50K)

Yeah since The Big Lebowski soundtrack I don't fuck with rsd soundtrack releases. The only vinyl soundtracks I listen to now are my copies of Inherent Vice and Fire Walk With Me.

Exploiting johnny-come-lately retards who think spending $25 a pop for shit-quality limited edition represses of albums they could get for $10 or less on first-press vinyl and CD is a good idea.

>support local shops
You have 364 other days of the year to do that, you absolute muppet.

This was the first RSD ever in my country.
Got that Fela/Roy Ayers and Lou Reed - Ecstasy

Pink Floyd - Saucerful of Secrets RSD Mono (24-bit FLAC)

Why is Seesaw and Jugband blues one track? Why is the second half of Saucerful of Secrets labled See Saw?

Well first off your welcome and secondly I got it from red so I'm not sure.

Huh, well I did some editing to fix that up! Thanks non the less!

The stereo version of Saucerful is better than that of Piper, but the mono mixes are still pretty good.

Managed to cop Steroids at cost off discogs earlier today

Some reissues and some old finds

Attached: my haul.jpg (1920x755, 445K)

Do the Chapterhouse release was only in UK right?
Anyone in the US see any in their shops?

I enjoy the upbeat feel of the album, but I can understand your perspective. Don't force yourself to like anything

*sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiif*

...

Managed to pick up
>David Bowie - Pin Ups
>Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks
>Modest Mouse - Poison The Well

I also bought the following releases to sell on discogs (Not a fan of the albums but will make some decent cash to put towards other albums)
>The Crow Soundtrack
