Vinyl wins
there are more pressing issues happening if a solar flare powerful enough to wipe all digital devices at once happens
>>solar flare happens
>>all digitally stored music is lost
>Vinyl wins
just got the Beatles discography on vinyl.

You're basically saying "why build cities if a meteor can crash into earth killing us all?" if humanity worried about anything we made being undone we'd still be in caves.
Fuck you pal. Vinyl is great. You can't stop me, and heres what I got.
>Post Malone
>Guardians of the Galaxy sountrack/score
>Tame Impala
>Bladerunner 2049
>Firewatch
>GTAV
>The Big Lebowski
>some Vaporwave I dont know the name of
>Journey
>Steve Perry
>John Denver
Stop me faggot, oh wait, you can't.
illuminate a real boomer on the resurgence of vinyl
Only this year I discovered they were a thing again
Are they exactly like the vinyls of my childhood, or has technology improved and now they are as good as cds?
Your music taste is embarrassing. I'm legitimately sorry for you

Vinyl is so fucking overrated. So sick of hearing about it and seeing hipster teenagers and boomers drooling and squirting a load all over it.
boomers think cds are better than vinyls, at least those old enough to have lived the vinyl to cd transition
this is a satire
Whats that? I can't hear you guys over my great collection.
>Mike and the Mechanics
>Over the Garden Wall soundtrack
>Minor Threat
>Simon and Garfunkle
>Daft Punk 2007
>Daft Punk 1997
>The Beatles
>William Shatner (currently in the mail)
Let me turn it down, oh no wait, UP? OKAY, ILL GO LOUDER.
Kinda funny that the music board hates people who appreciate music enough to get a physical copy of it, like how /vr/ hates people who like retro games enough to seek out retro consoles and games, literally why?
Why do you guys argue over the most pointless bullshit?
I see more and more boomers grabbing records all the time. They want to recapture the 60s and 70s when they owned them. Why do you think Target carries re-issues of Beatles, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, etc?
how do you not know who john denver was
i didnt think EVERYONE on here was an aspie
Boomers don't even have good hearing. They're totally irrelevant
> spends money on records instead of video games
> listening to record long after current games and consoles have become obsolete
If I can't listen to King Crimson then there'll be more pressing issues in that I'll be eating your skull you cunt
What is emulation
>he doesn't know who John Denver is
If you dont have an LP setup, you're not a real music fan.
I can't imagine spending 30 dollars on something that ill bearly use, unless im a faggot who listens to the same music constantly, you would have to listen to a record at least 15 times for that purchase to be worth it. Vinyl is like fun garbage
Just got my Greta Van Fleet vinyl!
>posting soi images
The majority of records don't cost 30.00.
I mean. The materialism of manchildren is probably wired into their childhood reward system, they need a cool new shiny every now and then which may often take the form of clothes or, even necessary household appliances aren't safe into turning into some rick and morty themed thing. They're escaping from reality too hard with something so they try to convert everything into that thing
>Ackchewelly..
t. buys a new smartphone every six months and has spent a small fortune on starbucks.
This.

I would accuse that stereotype of the same wasteful behavioral patterns
Solar flare only fucks huge things like electricity grids. Disconnected computers will be completely unaffected, and even if they're connected they'll be fine if they have a good PSU.
is it possibly to make cds that work like vinils?
as in, half of the music is on one side, the other half in the other side?

Probably not, because the metal layer is right next to the label. The laser probably won't focus correctly if it's in the middle. DVDs have the metal layer in the middle so double sided DVDs are possible.
I dont think people like vinyl for that feature.
Imagine this person in real life
>wasteful behavioral patterns
Your retardedly simplifying "consumerism" down to buying things. What's activity is consumerism primarily defined by? Consumption. So yes, when you set there in your darkened room downloading yet another 10 gigabytes of music you'll never listen to, you are sating your "childhood reward system" in the exact same way by getting a new shiny.
I would even say you demonstrate more of a mindless consumer mindset since the time it would take to listen to some of the "digital collections" I've seen posted here would take more than one lifetime, or at the very least, never listen to an album more than once, as you quickly jump from "new shiny to new shiny" like a rat hitting a feed bar.
Before the advent of piracy, you bought a record, and basically lived it with for a week, enjoying it over multiple listens. Maybe you'd only hearing 100 or so records per year, but quality of listening>quantity of listening. That's more substantial, more meaningful "consumerism" than listening to 50 albums per week so you can show off all the thousands upon thousands of albums you've listened to on your RYM profile.
The amount of onions on this is unreal
>Your retardedly...What's activity is consumerism primarily defined by? Consumption. So yes, when you set there
*You're...What activity, sit there.
thats the only positive thing I can think of vinyls
instead of releasing a traditional album, you can release 2 radically different 5 song eps, each on a different side of the same vinyl
are you okay
>not building a faraday cage and placing in it a 1 TB+ external hard drive with all your favorite music on it, for it to be preserved in case computers and electricity come back like 20 years later
Is this true? Like literally unplugged laptops? What about CDs?
I mean Dual-Disc is a thing
>not buying Vinyl as an investment
haha faggot
I have 1 album worth $800
I CANT FUCKING TAKE THE SOI ANYMORE ITS TOO MUCH
Ita funny because this is literally a way to tell if they are underaged. Dual disc is still a fucking thing and they dont know.
lol true enough though rather than “underage” saying “new” is probably more apt.
Somebody post the pic of that white zoomer guy from the Tyler the creator thread where he posted those awful selfies
aint worth that if youre the only moron who wants to buy it for 800 dollars.
unreal. I'm completely baffled.
