Space doesn't make sound. The idea of space themed music doesn't make any sense
Wrong. There's an entire collection of field recordings made by the NASA voyager.

Think original Superman theme meets Haendel as imagined by a slightly high disco dude.
You can't have a space thread without Kirk or Major Tom

WTF?
This is like John you are the Demons fanfic made by a decent rapper
Honestly my favorite album of 2016.
It's a concept album about an interstellar vessel transporting military slaves that gets hijacked by the last remaining survivor of an uprising on the ship and the subsequent love story that develops between him and the AI that runs the ship as he flees deeper and deeper into space. I wish they'd made a short film or graphic novel to accompany it because it's a really great story imo. There aren't many things like it.
Well I don't usually listen to rap because I'm not into thugs and gangstas but I'll give this a shot
Sagan Youth - Cela is a record which makes you feel like you're in space.

This is almost certainly not going to be what you were expecting, but it is the official short film: youtube.com
can't get enough of it, I love it so fucking much

Don't forget the "wow" signal

do the starships of journey and boston album covers render them "space-themed"?
does the fact that I feel like I'm floating through outer space whenever I listen to beach house's On the Sea make it space themed?
does it have to have some space reference in the title? beethoven's moonlight sonata? Gustav Holst's planets suite? Mozart's jupiter?
I'm thinking the only way to go here is the Zenon movie soundtrack.
The definitive space track: youtube.com
God traveling through space.
i am the god of space bitch
get the fuck outta my face bitch
the only answer is Peter Schilling's Major Tom
not him but splendor and misery is great.
its like a space opera as a rap album.

The only way that could be better is if William Shatner were performing the lyrics.
And I thought I was the only person ever to post that on Yea Forums
Holst's Planets Suite
i loved it as a kid
used to only like the intro but as i got older i realised the middle section is far superior
The songs of distant earth by Mike Oldfield
Nice one
I had only known it from the intro to which I heard sampled in another song. When I finally looked up the original I was pleasantly surprised by some good 90s pop rock that isn't too grungy or too poppy.

A lot of their of their stuff seems to have a space/interstellar sort of theme to it.

And I just posted Zodiac earlier today or I guess yesterday now in the USSR thread. This is getting pretty weird, even for a space thread.
Those are radio wave signals reinterpreted into soundwave frequencies though.
Shameless self promotion but it's related to space.

what is it with Yea Forums and this absolute piece of shit? It's so bad I can't stand even 2 minutes of it.
My favorite theme of music
