>15 years old: Ramones are the best band ever
>17 years old: There are far better punk bands
>20 years old: Ramones suck, every song is the same
>22 years old: All punk sucks, every song is the same
>24 years old: Punk is great, so pure
>25+: Ramones are one of the greatest American pop bands
>40+: I must tell my son of the Ramones
Welp time to rant.
Ramones do NOT write the same song over and over. You cunts just listen to the same 10 songs. Listen to Planet Earth 1988 or anything off of End of the Century, Mondo Bizzaro, or Brain Drain. Im so sick of this notion that the ramones songs all sound the same.Theyve done everything from punk, hardcore, metal to fucking AOR and R&B. Jesus listen to all their shit before you say they all sound the same.
Lear how to read, dipshit. I said thinking every Ramones song is the same is a phase that you grow out of.
Fuck off no one cares you idiot shithead
such a good tune. Will probably play during the credits of the inevitable Mick Jones documentary which will be made when he dies...
But I'm just getting started
Lol getting your basic lack of reading comprehension pointed out sure sets you off
I wish you idiots would stop putting your retarded stickers all over the mirror. They do this at every “punk” venue/bar and it’s not cool or original, it’s just fucking annoying. “You’re not authentic unless you look and smell like shit! REAL punks bathe in our own feces before leaving our white upper-middle-class homes!” Even as far as the music goes it’s one of the most overrated genres. “You just don’t get it! Punk bands are SUPPOSED to sound unoriginal and repetitive, and each one is SUPPOSED to be virtually indistinguishable from the others. It’s lame to put any effort into your art or act like you actually care about the craft of songwriting. It’s way easier and therefore cooler to just regurgitate whatever ill-informed watered-down anti-capitalist drivel the other bands are saying! That’s what makes punk so great!” Yeah... okay. And when are people going to stop pretending that moshing is fun? I love hearing a bunch of Neanderthals actually BRAG to each other about how many ribs they broke or how many times they got punched in “the pit.” They love faking being tough so much that they’ll literally DIE for it. Yep, people DIE in mosh pits, like all the time. But that’s natural selection for ya.
that wasnt me. i forgot and was gonna add that it wasnt directed at you. sry m8
I didn't
dont answer for me dipshit
Any punk who was actually being genuine about their music would evolve past 3 chord garage garbage after a couple years.
>unironically thinks he's too good for the frog
can someone post crass so i can post based rimbaud poster? thanks
imagine thinking people enjoy things you dont
It's called Thrash Metal, user
>tfw no punk rock gf
Underrated
mu will never fucking understand that there's a zillion punk bands and bands in the related subgenres that all sound so profoundly different its difficult to keep it under the same genre. you all think it stopped at fucking 1982, i could list 100 bands that don't sound like minor threat or the ramones. you're missing out on all the best stuff
you'll understand when you're older
never because bad brains s/t is my favorite album and ive listened to it at least once a week since i was 14
never
Never got into it. Punk is shit.
This guy got it right.
>What age did you grow out of punk?
I never abandoned it, but it's definitely a genre that doesn't lend itself to long-term fascination and devotion. Punk bands, as a rule, tended not to grow and evolve their sound (as such a thing would be seen as selling out among punk fans). So, basically, all the albums of a particular group sound pretty much the same. The Ramones are a good example of this.
I'm listening to this punk comp right now actually

punk sold out when they actually started caring about music quality instead of just being as edgy as possible. most punk lyrics now look like a justin trudeau speech with swearing
thats why i only listen to the sex pistols skrewdriver etc and sellout punk thats actually enjoyable to listen to like blink 182 and sum 41
yikes
hell yeah >:)
thank you user post more
