emergency broadcasts

country rap

Hip hop, but over the next couple of years it will transition from trap beats to beats more inspired by certain genres of EDM like house (sort of in the vein of Azealia Banks).

Psyche rock and post punk

this
possibly this

and fake bedroom pop

there's a small chance (maybe 15%) it'll move towards a justinbieber/idol-style industry, where fans care less about the music and more about supporting the singer like a sports team. the people best in place for this are youtubers who dabble in music like jake paul.

Electro jazz. Can't wait for neo flappers... Sounds hot

I can see this happening. A lot of people who are young kids and pre-teens right now love youtubers like Jake Paul, when they get older and more into music e-celebs who make music will be who most of them turn to first.

We still haven't done trap-time though.

literally more meme trap

Rock will make a comeback babyyyyy

neofolk revival

I think there will be a resurgence of something because teenagers hate listening to shit their parents like

Something satanic

this

First Hip hop, then i guess experimental pop and maybe later an alt rock revival leaded by young millenials artists

witch house

More than probable like just said in his post

I hope but i highly doubt...

>The thing is, right, no music will dominate the '20s. It's not like when I was growing up when we were proper into movements, you know what I mean? Kids these days, they aren't into all that, they just like going onto their fuckin' smartphones, or going on the old Twitter or whatever, and just listening to this electro pop shite. Last time music really dominated a decade, that was Oasis

Attached: 19-noel-gallagher-chatroom.w330.h412.jpg (330x412, 94K)

indie shit and "soul inspired" rap. until rock comes back it will be shit lmao.

Noel is a dumb piece of shit and should never be taken seriously

The most cartoony and cringy rap, metal, and country music that will make you feel too old to be listening to it. With lots of weeaboo and gamer "culture" hamfisted in.

Kikes will try to keep it popular and creatively stagnant

emo, after i release my groundbreaking emo album

That's a given.
Three chord grunge but even grungier and mumblier with a drum machine instead of a drummer.

shoegaze inspired indie alt radio friendly rock
post punk / minimal / coldwave inspired synth pop for teenagers
hyper future techno rap
post-vaporwave youtube poops
"psychedelic" rock a la tame impala, mgmt
edm-infused country music

If it's gotta be rap I hope it industrial techno-rap

Hip-hop will still dominate but it will get weirder and more experimental. Gangsta rap will see a slight revival in contrast to this
Rock will see a bit of a resurgence in 20's with more psyche rock and bands inspired by King Gizzard and Thee Oh Sees popping up
I could see alt-country becoming BIG in stark contrast to all the bro-country of this decade
Folk will pretty much stay the same until the end of the decade when more freak folk crops up

I think you're right about alt-country and bro-country.

people will get tired of trap and hip hop, maybe not in the beggining but atleast around 25 it will be very abandoned. where will the normies go?

my theory is that with the new technologies will let people/normies go wherever they like, and not to a certain type of genre. still ultra mainstream shit, but not like ''this decade was X genre''

kek
possibly
likely

>people will get tired of trap and hip hop
Pretty sure people have been saying this for about 30 years.

deconstructed club rap

country trap

literally the fortnite of music

>minimalist lo-fi mumble-trap
The barrier of entry will seem to get lower than the belly of a sewer rat but for some reason only people with major industry connections will get any popularity.

it's gotta be sometime. plus, people have a threshold until listening to the same genre becomes boring. normies, the main listeners of this, have a much lower threshold, and will get tired of these genres very quickly. just have to wait a little bit.

>normies, the main listeners of this, have a much lower threshold
Is that why my mom still listens to the same 100 songs from when she was a teenager?

But he's right though. Oasis dominated mid/late 90s. No artist dominated the 00s or 10s.

Let me create a masterpiece for you right here.
*ahem*
*mumbles*
kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo kill wipepo

That'll be several million dollars, please.

Anyone who talks about Oasis being the dominant band back then is automatically from the UK.

nigga that's nostalgia. i bet she hasn't spent her life listening to the same genre non-stop.

underrated

Checked
youtu.be/NEtSdsBPmhk

i cant believe nobody has said the obvious yet.. its gonna be synthpop

You're thinking of the 2010s

Attached: tegan-and-sara.jpg (513x513, 93K)

Didn't this already happen? Compare early 10's trap to now, it's already pretty EDMy.

Unirnonically depends on the presidential elections in the US.

lol, what the fuck happened to them
are they vegan?

>you just know

With the growing Hispanic population I could easily see rock making a return to the mainstream. I constantly see Pablos and Consuelas walking around wearing wearing Guns’n Roses and The Who t-shirts at my college.

>Pablos and Consuelas
Sounds like a dope band name.

Medieval influenced electronic of all sorts
Mu is already behind

Attached: 1534601554204.jpg (1393x1071, 207K)

me

Industry Jews love this shit lol

I don't know, it feels like it already reached its popularity peak.
Nice digits btw.

I'm all for medieval themes in theory but almost every time I hear something that isn't pure folk it's pure cringe.

Zoomer here to tell the board what's heating up now
>Clairo clones are absolutely the rage
>Demarco clones are on the outs
>Rock-y, sugary male vocalists are who all the girls will love
>Kpop
>Ariana grande
>Drake on his way out
>Meme music at the top of the charts as le eric tiktok crowd uses it to seem epic and quirky haha, eg Old Town Road
Basically absolute shit

You don't know shit
-Zoomer

Whats this I keep hearing about Playboy Carti being the future of rap?

based

i think the whole clairo, rex orange county, mac demarco ripoffs sound will keep rising into mainstream

This
Why don't you just stick to your YouTube "personalities" and let the Boomers who actually run this show tell you what you like

can I get ids on these albums pls fren?

HELL YEAH BABYYYYY

>the 90s will one day be refereed to as the 1990s

At least it won't be referred to as the Gay Nineties.

mumble pop

whatever genre billie eilish is, maybe synthwave

vaporwave dummy

Vaporwave will takeover the mainstream right after the Year of the Linux Desktop.

>its not already creatively stagnant
people like to listen to the same stupid shit no matter how much it sucks

I wish

surprisingly good thread

Yeah, when being a hipster becomes so mainstream that it becomes hip to not be a hipster, making them the new hipsters. I call it the Hipster effect.

THE CAR IS ON FIRE

Probably not vaporwave because it's all been done but possibly some form of trap infused post vaporwave

Attached: Blank banshee.jpg (1545x1545, 275K)

There's a trend of lo-fi deep house and techno going on
It might die out, or it might get infused into mainstream songs
The latter would be really cool

House is always hovering around the fringes and influencing whatever the current wave of electronic music is.

And pic related has already been doing that since what 2012? That wouldn’t exactly be a new genre

grime & chicago hip hop

>Rock will see a bit of a resurgence in 20's with more psyche rock and bands inspired by King Gizzard and The Oh Sees popping up

jesus kill me now. that's so lame

Rock makes a comeback after a black person makes a rock album

When's the last time that happened anyway? Hendrix can't be the last.

He's right too.

rap died a long time ago mate

Emo-rap and emo-pop like the stuff Billie Eilish and XXXTENTACION put out.
Emo's making a comeback but not in rock.

he's right though

EDM Country & EDM Rap

Rock will make a resurgence with whites. Though this time it will be synth-based, sorta like NIN Pretty Hate MAchine.

>non-whites
We won't care

>EDM Country
So it'll be like Sweden in the 90s again?

>listening to a wide variety of genres instead of following just one like sheep
Damn who knew zoomers could be so based

t. dumb metalhead

Zoomers have ruined this board.

Now I wanna listen to a song that samples these.

Trance revival

baroque revival. People will throw away their pianos and guitars for harpsichords and lutes. Modern music industry practices will be combined with classical. People will be decapitated defenestrated and fusilliaded. Mankind will strive for transcendence and finally become free during the singularity.

You asked for it.
youtube.com/watch?v=mOYZaiDZ7BM

similar to what other posters said, standard rap will decline so it'll fuse with genres like rock synth and edm

Doesn't need to be.

boom bap revival

there hasn't been a new genre since the 90s

post-s o ycore
diy art ho music
spectralism pop
onkyo trap
emo sound poetry
white jazz
deconstructed club
post-scenecore
gay furry rap
lofi hip hop

>Reggaeton Pop
Here's way. Thanks to an increase of diversity cuture in America. It's already popular in latin american countries.

>KPOP
KPOP is taking the world by storm. Previously only being huge in East Asia, and then Non-English speaking countries, it is now seeping it's way through the generation Z of America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. And this is a good thing.

>FemTrap
Like a form of soft trap beats with lot of autotune by a rapper who is very feminine, pro lgbt, and a feminist. And we love it! Also features vocals from popular female aritsts like Ariana Grande

>MatriRap
Influenced by Nicki Minaj and CardiB. Hardcore Trap music beats with aggressive and female vocals and graphic lyrics about collecting money, beating up and shitting on males, pimping out other women, and being a pimp lesbian and even lyrics about fetishism including bdsm, scat, giantess vore, female CEO and many other obscure themes

>Nu-Chamber
Indie music by usually females with sensitive lyrics about university life, art, polygamous relationships, conscious sexual liberation, humanity, and other..

This

>White power music
Because hate has made an increase in recent years. Plus zoomers would listen to this ironically, even if they are black or hispanic.

>Latin music
Thanks to Cardi B and Luis Fonsi along with high population of hispanics and latinos in the US.

>Heavy metal
Possible revival caused by Boomers buying the music out of nostalgia; or maybe hipsters wanna be edgy.

>Commercial jingles
Irony music, enough said.

>Noise music
Hardcore electronic hipsters would make normies enjoy this.

>Experimental hip hop
Due to Soundcloud rappers making experimental music.

>Kpop
Already popular now, but Koreans are nowadays more superior than the Japanese in everything.

In 2020 - 2022
Music will be mostly the same. It's so splintered off that no real movements with mainstream recognition will occur. (Though short semi-underground genres will pop up likely, like vaporwave did in the early 2010s or bubblegum bass in the mid 2010s. I bet one of the attempts at a micro genre will be some stupid shit involving 20s jazz pop but with like a trap beat or some shit, and the amount of references to the roaring 20s will be inescapable for the first few years.
I imagine that the mainstream pop in these three years will be basically the same, trap will probably slowly die after these 3 years. What it will be replaced with I cant say. Possibly more k pop or some non western genre like reggaeton, with some bullshit twist. Its 3ntierly possible that songs in the vein of Old Town Road will appear fruitful and start a crossover between country and trap.

2023 - 2026 will be pretty removed and it's hard to say what will be popular. It's very likely by this time some event simmilar to 9/11 or some war will occur vastly changing our lives. (A natural disaster and the changing of the climate will really start to fuck things up) the mainstream will possibly get more fractured, or it could be the opposite and mainstream music will become more wholesome.

The underground during this time will be what you would expect. Some random pop artist will release an 8/10 by Scaruffi.

2027-2029

The political and world landscape will be extremely different than how it is now. Everything will be a faint memory. Trap will be dead. The internet as we know it may be too. There will likely have been some horrible catastrophe which will have changed the entire course of human history, like a pandemic.

Music at this point will be played on pots and pans. Or what do I know, it may be the same damn shit.

I think we'll probably see a 90s revival of some sort, like this decade's 80s nostalgia shit eg. vaporwave and synthwave.
Hip-hop will probably keep moving in two directions - more punk and industrial-inspired, and the cleaner pop and American electronic inspired shit.
All that being said, I think the fact that things like Spotify becoming more and more popular will just continue feeding into the 'everything's sort of popular but nobody's BIG' movement we've seen start in the past 10 years, especially with a lot of the old big artists dying out (for example people like Ozzy, Roger Waters and Paul McCartney are pretty much guaranteed to be dead by 2025, if not stopped making music or touring entirely). There'll still be people like Kanye and Drake who have cults of personality formed around them, but that musical dominance sort of thing has near-entirely disappeared as is.

The 20s, not the teens
Its already past peak saturation

>Kpop
Are we confusing the 10s with the 20s? Kpop "getting popular" was like at least 10 years ago.

other than "hyper future techno rap" I think we are basically here

Big band is where it's at, Jack.

actually redpilled, people who listen to radio dont make any conscious genre choice, and those who dont listen to any genre they want

this guy is such a blatant industry replacement for deadmau5 it's funny

what'd deadmoufive do that he needs replacing? did he say a bad word?

hispanics only ever liked rock because they were trying to fit in, all they ever listen to is salsa and rap

Rock is huge all over latin america what are you talking about. Especially metal. It's DUMB how much those fuckers like metal.

>Twitch apparently suspended Zimmerman for an outburst while he was streaming PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (or PUBG) earlier this week. In a clip publicized by the blog EDM.com, he referred to another player as a “fucking cock-sucking stream sniper fag,”

Figures

try again

just you wait

Sleepy Dog is doing it right now if you like mathrock/midwest emo. If you count metal Animals as Leaders.

despacito doesn't count as rock, turd

Whatever becomes popular in today's era would be called pop music. Basically, pop will be popular in the 20s, the 21st, 22nd, the 23rd, etc. century. Who knows? Maybe one day Metal and Rock will become the Pop music

What even was the point of this answer, you know exactly what I'm talking about

metal will never become pop music. When i mean metal i mean the extreme metal. Not that hair metal shit. The morning you wake up and see burzum jr on the top 40 you know metal is dead and pop is desperate

Indonesia and the Philippines would like to have a word.

Yeah well not everyone can be the most factually powerful race in the world, user.

Rock is dead. And all the subgenres of it are dead too

White people only listen to rap now. White girls are gonna fuck all these black guys, getting knocked up by them, and create a bunch of Logic clones (the reality is there not gonna look like Logic, there gonna look disgusting, ugly mutts, but whatever) running around. The top white guys are gonna procreate, but their grandchildren are still gonna procreate with a bunch of darkies and mutts. The remaining white guys are either gonna racemix (aka, picking up the scraps) with asian, spic, negro women, and create another mutts, and the remaining white incels are gonna kills themselves, thus ending all the rock, goth, punk, emo, metal, all the white genes.

You will not see any of these genres coming back because there's not gonna be any white people for it to listen to. All the mutts are going to create something new, the next step of music. Something with the mix of spics and nigger culture. Some muttcore.

I bet you my left dick that it's going to be Post Trap.

i have always wondered what it was like in the mind of an incel

post-trap and fake billy eillish type """""""bedroom""""""""" pop

Mexico is gonna keep alternative music alive and probably gonna pick up the slack on the race war as well.

Attached: morrissey mexico.jpg (595x335, 52K)

Legit-- if you're some like 16~25 year old dude and you have a show in Laredo you best believe you're finna get your dick sucked if you played an Omar show-- Mexicans love rock and they still think it's the coolest shit ever. Cool enough to take a fucking drive over the border to see a bunch of nobodies kick around in some shithole venue that's got a bathroom that's literally a hallway.

>onto their fuckin' smartphones
you mean listening to what they actually want and like instead of being forced to eat up radio trash like Oasis. We're living in a time in which there are not many "x-heads" because even normies have diversified their music. With spotify, apple music and youtube you no longer have to bear listening to Noel's cockgargler voice. Just hit skip.

Women are the only demographic that, across the board, still prefers other genres over rap, actually. Probably has something to do with all that rampant misogyny.

>still prefers other genres over rap, actually. >Probably has something to do with all that rampant misogyny.
lmao imagine actually believing this white boi.

I'm a brown guy and will totally own up to the speculation being mine, but the demographic data isn't. It's honestly really weird.

wtf that sounds fun

Sounds like a college rock band that mainstream media constantly makes fun of.

Old but relevant to this and still numbs in a weird way
youtu.be/Za22UVJS0C0

Based and redpilled

That's just recycled from 4AD goth shit from the 80s. Dead Can Dance and all that.

But I reallyreallyreallyreally hope it isn't
Some of the shit the Hispanics put on is literally animal noises repeated over the millionth generic reaggaeton beat
I didn't think you could go worse than trap
