It's just a very succinct and good album. Though move on Closer for something more substantial.

cuz it sprays dopamine all over their cerebral braindong you pigeon

literally listening to it right now and it is borderline putting me to sleep

they sound like the cure took a bunch of xanax and stopped singing correctly

You don't have to like it just because other people do. In saying that I think it's a great album

Opinions. Learn what they are.

No kidding this album sucks. It is the most mediocre album that everyone overrates. The singer is monotone as shit and has the smallest range I've ever heard from just about any artist. Only stuck up pretentious "wannabe goths" think this shit is cool.

What makes this post-punk?

the bass and drum beat

There's literally nothing punk about it.

Closer > their early punk stuff > Unknown Pleasures

That's why its post punk, not punk

trolling? do you know what post punk is? it's fairly far removed from punk rock despite the name

trolling?

Is this satire? Joy division started goth

Yep you're right. Everyone's wrong and you're right user

yup, you nailed it on the head lmao

listen to Interzone tho that song is based

see

Joy division used to be punk band

How does that answer his question?

"Post" anything is just a pretentious term for another genre but "it isn't that genre, it's 'post-whatever'".

Its good user, you dont have to like everything other people enjoy

all wrong

I think the term started with joy division. Joy division was a punk band during the first wave of uk punk then evolved into something else while still keeping the punk aesthetic. Theyre music was a lot darker and more personal, take for example a song like iceage youtu.be/AYG27NWFRt0. It was still considered punk at the time but had a completely different aesthetic. While most punk at the time were shouting about poverty, power and corruption, joy division expressed this in a more at a more intimate level

Joy Division sound a lot more punk live. The band members were actually disappointed by the mixing on this album, they said they sounded like Pink Floyd. Listen to a live version of Interzone, An Ideal for Living EP or their really early Warsaw stuff and you'll see they sound a lot rougher and play their songs more sped up.

Yeah they were pretty pissed at the sound engineer, even though he basically gave them the sound that people liked them for.

unknown pleasures is overrated, musically simple, and uninteresting
excellent post

this

Because it pioneered a pretty simple avenue of post-punk. It's just been done to death since. Despite the fact that everyone is exceptionally talented. Curtis has an incredibly haunting voice and harrowing lyrics, Morris is impeccable on drums and Hooky is ripping up the bass. Also Bernie is present.

Is this your first time realizing that other people can have different opinions from you.

do you have adhd or something

Are you sure?
