I don't get it, why would people listen to TV static for hours? Are they mentally challenged? Noise is objectively not even music, btw.

I agree this album is shitty.
yeah idgi either, noise is worthless shit
Look in the archive at the 5000 other times this thread has been made and maybe you will find your answer
Noise is objectively music btw
>posts babbys first le meme noise album
>it's not even music haha
>x10000
why are npcs like this
That album artwork is objectively kino
People listen to noise not only the amazing textures and sonic exploration but the unique feeling you get listening to it. If you listened pulse demon in its entirety you would understand.
It can still have a solid structure and a nice melody
but in practise it doesn't, because its idiotic fanbase like this guy treat it like backgound noise and say shit like "dude it's about the visceral experience muh epic textures", so conmen like merzbow don't even bother trying
noise is pure npc music in form of autism. go figure.
So how do you explain a person you like noise? Just because "how is sounds"? Oof.
I admit im a pleb in the noise genre, as the only thing i listened to is pulse demon, and even that not in its enternity (not because i turned it off, but because the file i had donloaded was corrupted and i never hot myself to re-download it). Either way, i have to say i did not really like the album, but i certainly liked certain things about it. I normally listen to a lot of ambient and black metal, but also a lot of "noisy" genres, and i generally like when im fully surrounded with sound. I liked the patterns and the absurd soundscapes on pulse demon. I was kind of amazed by the sounds and insane stream of powerful noise i heard. For the very least, i must say im interested in the harsh noise genres. I feel like a lot of people still only pretend to like the genre, but im convinced that there are a lot of people that are trurly interested in the genre.
And those people i want to ask 2 things:
What would you reccomend me, as a newbie? I guess we cant really talk about accesibility here, but anything you consider great would be valued
What do you think of the pulse demon album? How good is it in comparison to the average harsh noise album?
If music is subjective, I can decide whatever I think it not music on a whim. Checkmate.

>Noise is objectively not even music
Then what is music?
something my dishwasher can't do in three hours
organized sound
coherence
I just like timbre of noise. why can't timbre be a part of music? oh wait, it is.
You don't even know what npc means if you think your average normalfag would listen to this voluntarily.
but its not a timbre in the musical sense
so it would be music to pluck the bottom guitar string for an hour cause it at least somewhat fits your 'musical sense'?
It's obviously the packaging. It's shiny, minimalist, well designed, with a cool obi strip. I mean heck it's got it all right minus the music. More people than you think would be inclined to buy a chunk of dried cow shit if it was packaged like this.
It's a good experiment in marketing and presentation. If the album art matched the sound it would have to look like an image of a maggot infested pool of diarrhea
That is literally how most people without theoretical knowledge describe why they like the music they like.
same idea
it sounds cool
It's art, not necessarily music
idk im not a fan of noise but i assume it's similar to the appeal of beatless fully ambient music
same concept essentially
its sad because the presentation is visually stunning but its also actual fucking torture to listen to
That version of the cover art is so much better
Interesting hot-take, Mr. Dubscheck
If you stare at the picture long enough (not OP's version), it hurts your eyes. I'd say it's an accurate representation of the album.

>conmen like merzbow
There's no con. Merzbow is totally honest about not being a musician:
"I threw all my past music career in the garbage. There was no longer any need for concepts like 'career' and 'skill'. I stopped playing music and went in search of an alternative."
1 hour fucking about in Audacity with no musical skill. Sounds just like the real thing.
instaud.io
The texture is too dry to sound like any of the work he did on Pulse Demon. Nice try, kid.
>texture is too dry
Add reverb to taste.
No that would cause it to become too muddy overtime.
That's not how reverb works. Any muddiness stays constant.
ey this is pretty good actually
i did a whole album about .exe files into audacity and people liked it, i hate this music genre
apaleskinmexican.bandcamp.com
>i don't understand the fundamental difference between intent and accident
do you think microtonal music is just 'out of tune' as well?
>the less time i spend on doing things, it must mean it's bad
not an argument
you're thinking of delay
This is shit, uninspired, boring and dry unlike real analog-made noise. Merzbow beats you. Hell, I can make something better.
Me cagas papi.
>This is shit, uninspired, boring and dry
So it's harsh noise?
The modern version of 8bit home computer tape loading sounds.
Play both of these at the same time for best results.
>Y'all so Fucking Dumb For Thinking This Music Genre is "Deep" or "Patrician", is As Easy As Putting Some .exe Files into Audacity and Editing Them a Bit and This Album is The Example
you realize merzbow's music comes from a bdsm mindset right? it's supposed to sound horrible, it's for people who find beauty in unpleasant things. japanoise especially is kinda the logical conclusion of the japanese idea of 'wabi-sabi' - decay, destruction, and sometimes chaos, as a form of beauty on the flip side of creation and order, a celebration of impermanence and imperfection but taken to it's maximum degree. its harshness is meant to cancel out the anger and anxieties some of us carry all the time, a same-cures-same kinda thing
No, the delay would eventually fade if it wasn't too wet. But with reverb it would muddy the whole mix with a noise track.
well i saw 'overtime' and thought you were referring to like infinite delay
Your textures are shit, you clearly don't understand the genre.
You need feedback for that. Reverb doesn't use feedback (delay does sometimes).
>So it's harsh noise?
You are coming off as an ignorant shithead who hasn't heard any harsh noise besides Merzbow and doesn't know the difference between accident and intent. Stick around to whatever boring/predictable classical, rock or pop music you seem to enjoy.
ive listened to prurient, kevin drumm, kazumoto endo, and masonna. it all sounds like the same crap that takes little to no talent.
it's not about 'talent' in the traditional sense of being a wanktastic virtuosic muscian. it's about building atmosphere, free expression, experimentation, exploration into the relationship between different frequencies and the space in which you hear them (including, sometimes, the possible alteration of a single sound just from moving around the room), the feeling it evokes in a listener, the way you can get lost in the maximalism of sound. that kinda shit
i wish i could be this touched by the sounds of my aux cord not being fully plugged in
nothing about what i said was emotional, but if you really can't hear the difference between an aux cable fuck up and the amount of layering and precise fine-tuning that goes into getting a texture just right, you're a lost cause
ill stick to nts sessions, thanks
Nah, Jackson Pollock is Red Krayola
>Mexican Guy
wow what a unique bare bones name you have for your music project with a sense of humor and self designated originality aren't you interesting, the bar must be really high for what you make with you just "throwing stuff together" and being super chill
I can prove this. I took Death Grips songs, stretched them as long as I felt like (probably 20 minutes), added the fruity hardcore VST to make it sound like harsh noise. Sent them to bedroom labels, they ate it up like the pretentious idiots they are and had cassettes made for them. And people ACTUALLY supported and bought them (not many, but you get the idea)
Noise is a joke.
Okay tourist.
This never happend. You morons are really this predictable.
sauce
>lol i can prove i'm not gay. i went to a glory hole and got my dick sucked by a bunch of dudes who thought i was, joke's on them!
projection
nts is radio. listening to radio is literally genre tourism with even less effort
What the hell is your problem, pulse demon sucks
>see actually good album
Because it feels so GOOD
It's like my body is made of pop rocks and I was just thrown into a vat of acid
the one and only based tripfag
I have an album for you called Merzbeat
based if true but gonna need more info than that
upload a snippet to clyp.it or something and prove a recognizable connection to DG
That sounds like ASMR desu.
It's purely about texture and emotion. Stop making this thread every day.
i guess listening to 8 hours of autechre makes me a tourist now
Harsh Noise Wall is ASMR but loud.
r u ok
well, considering autechre is one artist, by definition it kinda would
I'm just going to make a thread where it just says "Noise is shit" with a picture of Pulse Demon like every thread that came before this one.
i dont think you know what tourist means
Try out Going Places by Yellow Swans, it’s one of the easier ones to listen to in my opinion
luckily I don't care about how much effort is put into art
this is interesting, but obviously not as good as noise with sincerity
Yellow Swans is like the introduction to noise cause it blends multiple genres.
Yeah I agree this album sucks. The packaging in pic related looks hot tho.
>what is eqing the reverb and automating decay time
Wow, just like Alva Noto
for sure
>kino
>Yea Forums
me here is either the first or second part of Steroids stretched out with a fuck ton of hardcore filters
drive.google.com
this was made into a cassette and I profited a small amount from it. but the amount isn't the point, the point is anyone who likes this shit and actually paid money for this is pretentious and retarded.
this is only one of the very shitty noise bandcamp labels i have "music" on danshokudino.bandcamp.com
and if you don't believe me, then try it. i guarantee whatever shit you put together will be enough for these noise try hards.
you're just an idiot, sorry.
This applies to all genres, you fucking idiot. I can copy paste a shitty 4-chord indie pop album and then sell it on a small tape label and call it a day. Your noise is not good and yes, some people eat it up, doesn't mean I can't recognize bad noise.
>i wont point myself out XDDDD
okay then you're just a faggot liar. we get it, you don't like noise and stick around to your shitty basic rap and rock music
>you don't like noise and stick around to your shitty basic rap and rock music
projection at the max. Dreamcrusher is fun noise, so go fuck yourself. Besides I only posted for people that cared enough because I got bored in my free time, I don't have to prove shit to you. So stay butthurt because I actually proved how shit your favorite genre is.
>Sounds just like the real thing.
Noise haters lack the ability to hear what's interesting about noise confirmed. Your thing is totally static (as in unchanging) and boring.
>all the people ITT trying to defend Pulse Demon, a worthless harsh noise album
>nobody comes with counter-points to the retarded arguments that are being thrown at
Noise is dead, at the very least in Yea Forums. Btw this retarded bandcamp shits that you are all throwing are nowhere close to good harsh noise music but you wouldn't even know that nor care about that because you probably like radiohead or some other dogshit band and call it genius.
Some of those are kind of cool or have cool parts at least. What you're doing in this case is like taking a photo of a sculpture and then saying "see photography is dumb because I just take a picture of this thing and it's already good". It's good/interesting because of the work done by the sculptor. Likewise, your exe audios are only as complex and (sometimes) interesting as they are because of the work done by the programmers. You took something that already had thousands of hours of work in it (the programs) and "took a picture of them" in this analogy. It shouldn't be surprising that there are some interesting structures there, and it doesn't make noise dumb. Those pieces technically took thousands of hours to make. You just did the last step that took like ten minutes.
it means "things that I dislike" as usual
i actually love autechre, i was just saying in general. i thought genre tourists were specifically people who only know the obvious artists within a given genre and don't delve deeper. like, your aphex and autechre fans who know nothing more of 'IDM' (i don't like that tag, but it is convenient in this case i guess)
>sounds just like the real thing
no, this sounds like shit
the thread is a disaster. it's always fucking merzbow that starts shit like this. but they dont take a second to really delve into more noise artists or have ever lurked /noise/.
When a noise fan gets tinnitus, it must be a constant state of musical euphoria.
>Your thing is totally static (as in unchanging)
You can literally see the changes in the spectrogram.
>He's never used a reverb with a 20minute decay time.
Pleb.
